Life started passing smoothly. Iyers and Kumars (Shubham's parents) were already good friends and Bhallas too joined them. Ishra were also friends but no other feelings, in fact they used to have arguments over every small things. Raman always try to tease her but she always used to ignore as always. Mr Iyer had already chosen Shubham for Soumya as he had seen their good bonding and he lives near them only which was the only condition put forth by Ishita and Soumya that they don't want to live him alone so they will live near him only and he had to choose boys for them according to that only but Mr Iyer didn't choose any boy for ishita. Firstly, he had never seen any boy in her friend list and secondly he very well know how much she just hate boys that she used to talk to boys for some work only even with Shubham. He discussed it with Mr and Mrs Bhalla first and he started finding nice boy for Ishita too hiding from her. After few days when Shubham's parents came back, Mr Iyer talked to them about his wish and left the decision on them. They took some time to think over it as both families are from different categories and they wanted to know about Shubham's pov too. Whenever Ishita asked him about marriage thing, Mr Iyer always said that he is talking to parents of the boys and soon he will get them married. Three weeks passed like this
One day, it was a big day for Raman as he had to give a presentation from his company in a big conference for a big project. Mr Iyer asked Ishita and Soumya too to come with him in conference. Shubham too came all ready. Mr Iyer sent Shubham and Soumya for the conference and told he will come with Raman and Ishita. They went to Bhalla house. Mr Iyer got busy with Mr Bhalla while Ishita asked Mrs Bhalla if she need some help to which she denied. That's when Raman called Mrs Bhalla and she went. She came back after few minutes and he again called her, she again went and came back and got busy in preparing flour for paranthe when she again heard his call. Ishita went to her and told her to go to him, she will do it but she asked her to see him once as her hands are not clean. Ishita left to his room and saw his room was a mess while he was nervously busy in reading a file. He heard footsteps and said without seeing her,
R-Maa, please ek matching tie choose kardo mujhe kuch samajh mein nhi aa rha.
She was about to say something but thinking he is disturbed, she silently picked a matching tie and gave to him. He raised his head and asked taking tie,
R-What are you doing here?
I-Nothing, just trying to help Auntiji.
R(taking the tie)-Tumhari choice bhi tumhari tarah bekaar hi hai.
I-To kyo pahn rhe ho, mat lo. Apne aap choose kar lo.
R(irritated)-Shut up yaar, ek to pahle se hi tension ho rhi hai upar se khud bhi aa gayi.
He said wearing tie in a hurry. He was about to leave when Ishita stopped him and said correcting his tie,
I-Relax. Why are you taking so much pressure? It's just a presentation. Just give your 100%. And don't worry, agar yeh project hamari company ko nhi bhi mila to Appa tumhe fire nhi kar denge. So just relax.
R-Tum mera confidence badha rhi ho ya mujhe dara rhi ho.
Ishita gave an unbelievable look to him and left saying,
I-Go to hell, Ravan Kumar.
Raman smiled and left picking his files and laptop. This scene was seen by Mr Iyer who came to check on Raman and got a hope that someone can handle his daughter. Raman greeted him and both left. In hall, Raman settled on dining table for breakfast and Mrs Bhalla served him in angry mode.
R-Maa, ab Kya Hua ? Itna gussa kyu ho?
He asked taking a bite of paranthe trying to behave normal as he knew she is angry on him but she didn't reply.
R-Acha meri maa, lo pakad liye kaan. Sorry Maa. I promise kal se main aapko thoda Kum pareshan karunga. Ok ab khush.
Mrs Bhalla -Mainu nhi chahiye Teri sorry worry, Mainu to bas ek bahu chahiye ab.
She said making an angry face leaving all surprised and shocked while Raman was about to put a bite in his mouth but stopped and looked at her.
Mrs Bhalla -Kya, aise Kya dekh rha hai? Main ab teri shadi Karana chahti hu. Bhot pareshan ho gayi Hu tujhse. Jab dekho maa ye kaha hai vo kaha hai. Ab apne liye bahu lekar aaungi aur vahi tujhe sambhalegi.
Raman looked at his father but he hide behind newspaper.
R-lekin maa itni jldi Kya hai abhi to...
Mrs Bhalla -Abhi nhi to kab. Teri padhai ho chuki hai, job bhi hai itne saalo se. Ab bas main teri shadi karwaungi or yeh final hai. Aur tujhe Kya problem hai, koi ladki hai to bta de.
R-Aisa kuch nhi hai maa.
Mrs Bhalla(happily) -To bas Tere liye aaj se hi ladki dekhna shuru.
R(irritated)-Fina jo Karna hai karo. Lekin mujhe pareshan mat Karna.
Saying so he completed his breakfast quickly to save himself and left with Mr Iyer and Ishita. Conference went very well. All praised Raman's presentation but Iyers didn't win the project as they were second best. Raman was little sad but all cheered up for him. Few more days passed. Mrs Bhalla too started her mission to find a nice girl for Raman while Mr Iyer started thinking of Ishra marriage. One day, Shubham's parents accepted Mr Iyer's proposal and Mr Iyer too asked Mr and Mrs Bhalla for Ishra marriage which they too happily accepted as Mrs Bhalla was also thinking same. Then they decided to tell their children next day which was Sunday. They all gathered and informed about their decision which was shocking for them. Ishra were the most shocked. All four talked to each other and decided to go ahead with their parents' decision. Their Roka with engagement was done after one week in the presence of relatives and close friends. Their marriage too got fixed after two months and in these two months, both pairs were said to know each other more especially Ishra who just met one month ago but they were least interested in the same as according to them they will live together after marriage and will slowly got to know about each other. After two months, marriage preparations started with Mahendi function in Iyer house only in morning, a day before marriage day, Mrs Bhalla and Mrs. Kumar completed this ritual like a mother for both girls as they were badly missing their mothers (Soumya was Ishita's college friend, she had her small family, parents and elder brother in Chennai but she used to live in Delhi with iyers from two years ago when Ishita developed her clinic into a hospital. Last year when Soumya's family was coming to Delhi for permanent, they met with an accident and all died and after that she lives as Mr Iyer's daughter). In evening, Sangeet ceremony was arranged at a hotel. All enjoyed fully. Next day haldi and then next early morning they got married in Tamilian style and then in evening reception was arranged.
Soumya and Shubham slowly settled in their married life but Ishra were just friends, they were fulfilling their duties as DIL and SIL and husband and wife very well, care for each other but there is no improvement in their relation and it's impossible for them as for that they should try to take any initiative, they should try but for them with time their relation will grow itself. The only thing they know is how to initiate an argument between them and taunt each other as FRIENDS only. However their only friends level is increasing but they will realised it when they will be away from each other and that happened too. One complete year passed like this, their families could also see and Soumya and Shubham too tried to talk to them but no use.
It was their marriage anniversary after five days and Raman had to go to Mumbai for some work with Mr Iyer. Family who was planning an anniversary celebration, became sad and all tried to stop him to go, Mr Iyer was also about to postponed it but Ishra denied as they took it easily but when rhe time came they realized the importance. From the time Raman went to Mumbai, both started missing each other badly. Both had a few phone conversation as they were not getting much time but didn't show that they are missing each other. On their anniversary day, Ishra wished each other over phone only and both got busy in their busy schedule. In evening Ishita returned back from clinic and saw Mr and Mrs Bhalla ready for dinner which was earlier planned by everyone, Ishita denied saying she is tired and not feeling well. She made them agree to go with Shubham's family as they were not going leaving her alone. She drank water and went to her room. She lied on bed as she was very tired plus her mood was totally off as she was missing Raman too much. She badly wanted to be with him as she had realised what he meant for in her life plus she wanted to know if he is also sailing on same boat or not. She saw their marriage pic which was hanging in front of her and slept looking at the photo only.
Mr and Mrs Bhalla came along with her dinner packed and Mrs Bhalla served to her waking her up. After that they slept. After about one hour she felt something on her eyes, she got alert but didn't wake up and sensed that someone is binding a cloth on her eyes, blindfolding her. First she got scared but after few seconds she recognized that it's Raman only. She hit on his hand calling his name,
I-Raman, are you mad? Dara diya na mujhe.
R-Pagal madrassan maar kyun rhi hai. Aur tujhe kaise pta chala ki Main hoon. Itni shanti se kar rha tha main.
I(getting up still blindfolded)-Aapko nhi to Kya padosi ke husband ko pehchanugi. Leave it. Tell me when did you come back?
R-Hmmm, impressive. I just came few minutes ago.
I-Why are you doing this? I have to see you.
She asked him trying to remove the cloth but Raman stopped her saying,
R-So someone wants to see me.
I-Nothing like that. I mean I want to see what you are trying to hide. Jyada kuch mat socho.
R-Nhi nhi, maine to Vhi socha jo tumhara matlab tha. Ok leave it, time bhot kam hai. Just wait for few minutes and don't remove it from your eyes.
I-Kya time bhot kam hai, aur yeh Kyu? Please batao Na Raman...
She was going on asking him but he was busy in himself asking her to wait. After few minutes, he took her out of bed and opened the cloth making her saw a little surprise from him on their first marriage anniversary. A small fruit cake was kept on the table with a candle and few flowers were lying on the table. She looked at him and asked raising her eyebrows signalling towards table while he said,
R-Kya, kuch nhi. I thought tum poori zindagi mujhe taane maarogi ki main first anniversary par bhi sath nhi tha aur Kuch nhi kiya tha to bas aise hi...
I-I got it.
R-Sorry bas itni rat ko itna hi Hua. Hope you don't mind.
I-It's completely fine. And the thing which matters is your presence not all this.
She said looking at him while he too looked at her and both had their first ever eye lock which Raman broke and asked her to cut the cake the cake as only 5 minutes are left of the day. Both cut the cake and first Raman fed her and wished her along with a side hug that to be not proper as he was hesitating as it was their first time trying to behave more than just friends while Ishita cursed him mentally for not giving a proper hug as she could feel that he had also some feelings for her like her, that's why he came this much late only for her but as usual he is bad in expressing his feelings. She too fed him and wishing him put her arms around his neck taking him in a tight hug which made him surprised but then he smiled realising she would be always one step ahead from him in every manner. After few minutes both broke the hug. Raman wanted to give her a gift but before he could say anything, Ishita, not able to face him, went out taking rest of the cake to keep it in kitchen while Raman settled on bed waiting for her. Ishita came after five minutes and saw Raman sleeping in uncomfortable position as he was too much tired. She took out his watch and shoes and made him lay comfortably. He held her hand and slept taking her hand in his hand. She recalled last few days of their life and then his surprise and slept hugging him from back...
