Part 2
There was absolute silence between the two after Raman blurted out what he did not want to. Ishita, all of a sudden, was feeling very nervous. She was continually looking away anywhere, avoiding Raman. She did not know what to say, even what to think. She could not process any thoughts.
[Will deviate and write Ishita's thoughts]
Ishita's thoughts
Ishita, being a cool-headed person, always tried to solve any problem, keeping everyone's happiness in mind. But after what she heard from Raman she was a bundle of nerves. And the most surprising thing was she was not at all feeling offended. But the logical part of her brain kept questioning her 'why wasn't she offended by his words'? She should be offended, even after precise 'sirf ruhi ke liye' deal how can he even say that. But she was not at all upset.
Here, on the other side, the silence was eating Raman in and out. He was very furious at himself for giving away this easily. He has to do damage control before everything spirals out of his hands. He was looking at Ishita every now and then and seeing her expression his fears grew even more. Finally, he called out,
Ishita.
Ishita was in her own thoughts.
Ishita (loudly).
This brought Ishita out of her thoughts and she looked at Raman and again looked away.
R - Ishita, let us talk and clear it up now itself
I - Clear it up?
R - Ishita, I know what I said should not have been said but hear me out once
I - Okay, tell me what you want to say
[Raman being RKB will always messes it up with his words]
R - Ishita, what I said earlier was an impulsive reaction out of frustration. It is all because of you. Yes, everything is because if you, you and only you.
Ishita was irritated now.
I - What are you even saying Raman, at one point you say something which.. which is not at all... acceptable and then suddenly you are saying that everything is because of me.
Raman felt the hurt of rejection again when Ishita said it is not at all acceptable. But being the RKB
R - Yes it is because of you. When we decided to marry just for Ruhi why do even care about me ? Before, in the evening who asked you to give me the painkiller ? Did I ever ask you to do these things ? Tell me.
Raman was losing his cool. He did not want to make it even more messier than it already is. So, gaining composure, he said,
R - Ishita, I apologize for what I said earlier. I know and understand what sort of relation we have chosen. You are Ruhi's Ishima to me and I am Ruhi's father to you. I should not have said that. And regarding my stay away during the nights, give me some time I will sort it out. Will that be okay ?
Ishita was very hurt now. This man who happens to be her husband (in paper), whom, she wanted to understand, whom, she started seeing in a different light, always hurts her. And she doesn't even know why.
I - I really do not understand Raman. In One moment you say something and in another you just brush it away. And then you ask, 'will that be okay?' Why are you behaving like this Raman. At least let me know this
R - See, this, this caring nature of yours is what I do not need. Look Ishita, let us keep it very simple. Keep me out of your caring list. Seek me out only for Ruhi. Apart from that consider as if I don't exist. I think we should go inside now. It is already too late
I - (angry and hurt)Yes Raman Kumar Bhalla, it is too late now. You said what you had to say disturbing my thoughts and you are leaving now ? I need to know the reason why you said that. It's okay, not now, you take your time and let me know but I am clear about this, I am not going to let this go.
R - What do you mean by not going to let this go ? I am not under any obligation to give any sort of explanation to you.
I - Then why did you even say it ?
R - It was because of you. You kept pushing the topic of me staying away in the nights.
I - I don't care Raman, you will have to explain or else I will have to tell Papaji about you night stay.
R - Are you blackmailing me Ishita ? Really ?
I - You can see it the way you want
R - Why do you want to know Ishita. I admit, what I said should not have said and I am sorry for that. But why are you pushing this ?
I - Really Raman! I am pushing this. Who stays out of his own house ? You. I have been behaving normally all along. I know I came to this home as Ruhi's Ishima and I am being that. Then all of a sudden there are these changes in you
R(self talk) - That is the problem na Ishita. You are completely okay and I am not. Kya karron yaar...
Raman, without a word left from there. He did not want want to prolong this conversation because he was in the losing end. He went inside his room and saw sleeping form of Ruhi and he knew, he cannot jeopardize this relation at any cost. He had to rectify this. Kissing Ruhi on her forehead he slept beside her.
Ishita knew Raman would give in this easily. She was more shocked with herself as to why she wanted an explanation from him about this revelation. She did not want to voice it out but somewhere beneath she knew she felt happy that her husband finds her attractive. She was more and more curious of what Raman would say.
After some days Raman decided to return home and stop staying outside. In these days Raman used to avoid Ishita everywhere. Ishita was not helpful at all. She started observing him more and more and this made Raman's situation even worse.
It was the last day Raman was staying in his room near the office. The sound of the doorbell startled Raman because no one knew of this place. He did not reveal this place to Mihir too. When he opened the door he was shocked to see Ishita there.
