Very well written Zoya. 👏👏
Well, there is no denying the fact that their rishta started with "Sirf Ruhi ke liye". I did not feel bad today when he said Ruhi was the sole reason for them to get together in life, which is actually true. Though the foundation for their relationship was laid by Ruhi, they have went on to become soul mates because of the care, empathy, affection, understanding, immense love and trust( well, this is always debatable 😊) and their relationship was no more sirf ruhi ke liye,. Their journey went on to become "Sirf Raman ke liye" and "Sirf Ishita ke liye". The irony is that these two have failed to acknowledge it explicitly back then and even now regardless of what they feel inside. Whatever is happening now is a proof for that. Raman feels that Ishita is happy being away from him . He will not be able to bear if Ishita takes the first step and gets married to Mani. But he wants Ishita to be happy. So he is in a hurry to get married to Shagun to prove that he has indeed moved on and Ishita is not needed in his life. Ishita on the other hand, feels Raman is happy without her in his life with Shagun and ready to sacrifice her love and want to gift him Ruhi as a marriage gift.
Raman is extremely insecure of Ishita's love for him when Ishita is with Mani. The same is the case with Ishita when the other person involved is Shagun. Now when their insecurities look to turn in to realities after 7 long years, these two are convinced that the other person is happy without him / her in his life.
The part that hurt me today was Raman trying to bring in the "Sirf Pihu ke liye" angle now to get himself forcefully married to Shagun. He volunteered for this marriage out of anger, jealousy and frustration and now he brings in the Pihu angle. For me, this is not the Raman I used to admire. He was brave, frank, outspoken and never used any excuses.
"Sirf Ruhi ke liye" was the truth yaar, but "Sirf Pihu ke liye" is something trying to run away from the truth.
As I always say, Raman is not completely wrong. His actions and choice of words are definitely wrong. Unless his POV is brought to the light, his redemption is not to be justified. So is Ishita's. So what is needed is a heart to heart talk between the two.
Now that Ruhi's truth is exposed, I fear they will get back to "Sirf ruhi ke liye" mode again... Let us see how the CV's take it forward from here. But to me, they have failed miserably. There is no clarity in the track.
Just my random ramblings. Did not know if I made sense in what I wrote.
Cheers
