i honestly think ishita is more complex than Raman. her actions have always demonstrated this sort of plea to the world that she just wants to be loved. the minute she felt that slipped away, after it eluding her for years, her finally finding it, and then it being destroyed, the pain was unbearable for her. Subbu treated her like a bad investment. Raman however, slowly but surely gave her security that she will always be loved. then he ripped her apart. ishita is in my opinion, much more emotionally crippled than raman. yes, raman can't function without her, but ishita on the other hand has had to live with the idea that she is unwanted by a man she loves, who is still in this world. raman thought ishita left the world. ishita lived knowing raman didn't want her.

Same - I always felt her "jagat mata-ness" (outside of this being a desi soap) was a clear sign of Ishita's insecurity...she overcompensates because she feels that is the only way she will be loved thanks to how she was treated in the past. And I don't think on screen characters picked up on this - Raman early on would allude as to how she needed to be selfish to take care of herself first & started to scratch the surface of this insecurity but never made it deep.
Both IshRa too me are equally complex - it's only that Raman's complexities are explored in depth regularly
I think the problem stems from the inherent dichotomy of desi TV - you want a sacrificing FL who is equally powerful and righteous so after watching many shows - it's clear to see why the CVs only scratch the surface of Ishita's insecurities bc it doesn't fit the mold of a prime time bahu. From the beginning of the show, Ishita was my favorite FL of all other shows I've seen bc she has this deep seated insecurity - it's only when the TRP rat race kicked in that it was hard to fully find this depth of character in Ishita.
As for IshRa - like I mentioned before, I really don't think both of them realize the depth of their impact on the other bc they are so guided by their own insecurities. If the Cvs wanted to bring this to the forefront - it would be a masterstroke allowing for the idea of "Ek Duje Ke Liye" to kick in!
