While I don't see any maliciousness from Raman probably due to my bias towards him - I still believe the message they are sharing is downright wrong. Based off what is shown, he thinks she's bottling her grief & therefore not wanting to approach surrogacy. Nowhere has his mind wandered from here in that she has failed him because she lost her child for him & their kids. The CVs are cleaver about how they have formatted this. But we can agree to disagree on Raman's reasons for his actions.

There are three issues of the CVs: (1) infertility - which was taunted the moment Ishita miraculously became pregnant, (2) promoting misogyny/paternalism - Raman secretly making a decision behind Ishita's back for her own good, which is the opposite of what society needs, and (3) the role of Shagun in everything & the clearing of her slate (which is another issue on itself).

My main concern with the show that keeps me from watching it right now is how blatantly disrespectful they are to infertility. I cannot get myself to watch because I keep imagining how real men and women feel. It hurts and is just insulting.

A major channel is promoting regressive thinking in the paternalism that is being shown, while simultaneously taunting those facing infertility.

Hi friends your opinion is highly appreciated. But unfortunately, it makes no difference to either by, ekta or sp who are more consider about trp. It's impact on society hardly makes any sense to them.

What hurts to me most is that creative director is a women. I have no expectations from ekta. There is no positivity in the serial. Actually from beginning this serial has put shagun on the central stage. Leaving Raman, creating rift now surrogacy.

If they have shown no positivism in last two years, no expectations in the future also.

To me it is just beginning, I don't know what crap they are to serve us in near future.
If cvs think that they can handle after leap well, I have a doubt.

Actually we are going at again the same start. Previously it was ruhe now it will ishra own child

I think the crux is that we should discourage ourselve viewing the but serials.

We know that it makes no difference to those boozos but its so appaling that we need a vent which is why the hundreds of posts that you see floating around, one of which happens to be mine and the comments on it as well as the others

Lovely Post.
For me , the show never could take off after the slot change . Even before it, there were some problems but those could be understood considering they were still yet to fall in love. It's okay if both leads make mistakes , individually or as a unit but here both of them could never be one unit, understand the love or learn from any mistakes. It's never the growth or progression but using high points for ILU or some emotional scene where it's more the actors than the characters selling the show. ,,
The only desi show that I saw actually showed relationship progression - where they could talk about dating, intimacy, trust, different POVs and acted as a unit was surprisingly a teen show-KY2 (S1) . Atleast the lead was vocal about herself, her desires and ML worked on himself. They both created that balance. Funnily people might rip it for being too bold with scenes but for me it was amazing to see that young FL talk sex with her love and how she wants it, understand his desire but was overwhelmed and needs to take it slow and him understanding it and easing her- that and compere the high drama for C-night for this married couple where the FL has had issues .

But nothing , whatsoever could justify this the murder of the trope- Ishita's pregnancy arc was THE STORY. And they destroyed it , not for Shagun, not for anything else but for their drama and longevity and for that EB moment where these two again will say ILU and sell love.

This was insensitive and disrespectful, women all across should ban this serial.

Aani.. wonderful post.. you have voiced out the frustration of every true IshRa/yhm fan.
I am not in the entertainment field. I have no idea what goes into making a Hindi TV soap. I am just another viewer...somebody who has taken out half an hour of her time every day since the past 1.8 years or so to watch this show. I have laughed and cried, raved and ranted through each episode, justified each crappy track that they have flung at us all because I had the faith that it'll all.make sense eventually. But seeing the state that the show is in now literally brings tears to my eyes.. The betrayal I feel is so deep that I cannot even put it into words. Shagun's constant unconvincing interference in IshRa's life has crossed all limits. Raman's foolish actions are inexcusable... and I have officially given up on the show!
But who cares right? After all, I am just another viewer!

Hugs back!!

Same. That 17 year old girl will always be special because they allowed her to think about herself even while being the moral right . But the contrast that worked for me was - those two kids handled their thing between them, no MU, no 3rd angle and they called/talked their issues and worked on it .NEVER DISRESPECTED EACH OTHER. That show had trp pressure but till S1 , creatives listened to us, they respected us and that CH is lauded for it. The cvs inspite of being the top youth show actually considered every episode as the first and took audience feedback so strongly.

Raman makes impulsive mistakes , goes in that angry mode every single time. But that ML realized his impulse accepted his flaw and worked on it. FL there drew a line about anger and they both worked on it. Anger, impulse and trust were the conflicts. Heck , no 3rd angle could separate them and they never did- hurt, disappointed yes, but they talked it out and worked on building it.

One of my fav bits of that serial is when FL has a different POV (manipulated by a 3rd acr) and that sort of hurts ML, he does lashes out not at her for different POV (because he understands his girl that well) but because of how trust and anger they both view of differently. Yet , these two work on each other, he tries to be angry at her but by the same very night comes and tell her that it hurts him more and while she promises to make him smile- firmly tells him that his anger and his way of lashing is all wrong and thats now how he should deal with his hurt. And he listens, internalizes and never repeats.

Those two had 3rd angle or arcs but that never affected their equation , the kids had basic personality conflicts or perspective ones which they worked on. Not on the problem but on themselves. I dropped the reference of the other serial only to say why communication was never Raman-Ishita's strongest suit and that holds the key for story-telling.

But here is my issue with YHM , this is a mature love story, they have kids, fertility issues and diverse perspectives . Yet never these two talk, discuss it out like a couple . Fertility has been made a joke. I had massive problems with the c-night too but that is another debate. Even now if these two come together, how the heck one feel for them- they have ruined the essence for me.

It's not Shagun that has ruined them, it is how cvs could never sell Raman-Ishita as a married couple. Adi, Ruhi, Mihika..Shagun.. they always had someone else between them. It was never them as a couple or as a unit but it's like their story has always been through someone else.

Also why must we extrapolate Ishita's actions always, why is she not given a voice, treated as human. Sadly Raman is used as the bait for drama.

For me the serial lost it wth Ishita when they made her overlook/adjust with Param's thing . 🥱
