Raman was busy combing his hair; his eyes rose, his heart skipped a beat as he saw Ishita's face appear in the mirror next to his own.
As she raised her hands to fit the earring in her lobe, he realised that she looked mesmeric in the lovely pastel-blue saree and pink lips..
Her fragrance was enchanting, how he wished he could slip his hands into her bare waist , grab hold of her..and make love to her..right there, right now.
Their first night the day before in the hotel had been so deeply satisfying, and such a liberating experience for him. Why did he wait for so long! He had been cursing himself for this reason non-stop for the last 2 days..she was there, right there with him in this very room for the last one and a half yrs. How much can one deny oneself of happiness if its right there waiting for you all the time!
"Raman, aise kya dekh rahe ho aap mujhe! " Ishita spoke.
[Raman, how are you looking at me! ]
"Ab..ba..ba..kuch nahi" he replied. ["No..no..nothing" he replied.]
What could he say! He was unable to build up the courage to tell her what he was thinking.
Ofcourse the first experience the other day had been superlative for him, but then another thing had been bothering him, stopping him all this time..
It was her..SHE HAD ONLY RATED HIM A 2/10!.. I mean 2/10 really! Aadmi ki laga di matlab!
"Itni mehnat, itna paseena nikalvaane ke baad bhi madrasan ne mujhe 2/10 diye! Hadd hai..kya performance di maine, puri jaan laga di..aur phir bhi..itne kam number!
Pata nahi kaunse paagal Madrasiyon wali performance chahiye thi isko jo main nahi kar paya..Rajnikanth chahiye kya isko!" he thought
[ I worked so hard, sweated out so much for this n this Madrasan just gave me 2/10! I mean what a performance I did, put my everything into it, but still..so less marks! I donno what kind of a stupid Madrasi type performance was she expecting..does she want Rajnikanth or what!"]
Ishita: "Raman aap itne pareshaan kyun dikh rahe hain..kya soch rahe hain aap? Kuch chahiye kya aapko..koi help chahiye meri?"
[ "Raman y r u looking so worried? What r u thinking? Do you need anything..do you need my help?" ]
Raman: " Haan..nahin..matlab haan..kuch poochna tha tumse"
[ Raman: Yes..no..i mean yes..I wanted to ask you something]
Ishita: " To phir bolo na!"
[Ishita: Please say it! ]
Raman: " Ishita was wo us din.. sach mein 2/10 hi tha kya"
[Raman: ishita dat day..was it really 2/10?]
Ishita: " Kya 2/10?"
[Ishita: What 2/10 ?]
" Hey bhagwan ab yaad bhi nahin hai isko!" he spoke to himself.
[Oh god! She doesnt even remember now!]
Raman: " Arey wo us din..hotel mein..tumne score kiya tha na..2/10?"
[ Raman: " Dat day..in the hotel.. u gave the score 2/10..]
Ishita: " Arey haan! Wo! Wo baat aapko ab tak yaad hai? "
[Ishita: Oh yes! That! U still remember that?]
" Ab tak yaad hai! Matlab humari first night mujhko yaad bhi nahin rahegi? Aur isko bhool gayi kya! Itni gandi performance thi kya meri?" he thought to himself.
[ Still remember? I mean wont i remember even my first night? N how come she forgot? Was my performance that bad? he thought to himself.]
Ishita: " Raman aap itne pareshaan kyun ho rahe hain is baat par? "
[Ishita: Raman y r u so upset abt this thing?]
"MATLAB AB PARESHAAN BHI NAA HOON MAIN IS BAAT PAR!" he though again.
["NOW SHUDNT I EVEN GET UPSET ABOUT THIS!" he though again.]
Ishita: "Arey wo hotel ki wajah se tha..aap kyun.."
[ Ishita: It was because of the hotel..y r u..]
Her phone ringed and she broke the conversation in btw to pick it up.
"Achcha Raman, I gotta leave now. Ek urgent patient hai clinic me i hv to attend..see you in the evening!"
She left.
Raman sat down on the bed and hid his face in his hands.
" Itne bade hotel mein le gaya main isko, itna badiya ambience mein first night celebrate ki humne..phir jaake isne mujhe 2/10 rate diya!
Hotel ki wajah se 2/10 diya..Matlab phir ghar pe kya degi..1/10...yaa phir zero on 10?!!!"
[ " I took her to such a big hotel, we celebrated our first night in such an awesome ambience.. still she gave a 2/10. because of the hotel she gave a 2/10. What will be her score at home.. 1/10.. or a 0/10?!!! "]
He felt like crying.

Mihir: "Bhai aapko subah se kya hua hua hai.. meeting mein bhi aap kuch khaas interest nahin le rahe the..kya baat kya hai..aap itne pareshaan kyun hain?"
Raman: "Kuch nahi yaar.. rehne de tu"
Mihir: "Arey bhai batayiye na.. I am sure I will be able to understand you and help you out!"
Raman: " Kuch nahin yaar..tu nahi samjhe gaa..Pehli baar main life me fail hua hoon..aur bahut buri tarah se!"
Mihir: " Aap aur fail? Impossible. Aisi koi cheez hi nahin bani duniyaa me jisme aap fail ho jaayein"
Raman: " Arey par ho gaya hoon main fail"
Mihir: "Aisi kaunsi cheez hai bhai?"
Raman: " Nahin bata sakta yaar!"
Mihir: " Aise kya hai jo aap nahin bata sakte..chalo main guess karta hoon..kya ho sakta hai.."
"teen din pehle tak to aap theek the.. aur business mein to koi tension nahin hai.. Aur ghar pe bhi sab theek hai..aaj subah hi meri bhabhi se baat hui hai.. to phir kya ho sakta hai? "
"Bhai..us din wo Jhakkar ki party waale din kuch hua kya?"
Raman: "Ahem..Haan.."
" Us kutte Ashok ne kuch kiya kya...bhai aap batayiye.. mai uss kutte ka muh tod dunga" Mihir spoke with anger bubbling on his face.
Raman: " Nahin nahin..Ashok kaun hota mujhe fail karne wala! Wo party ke baad hum wo gaye the na..k.k..kuch nahin!"
Mihir: " Bhai batayiye na! Party ke baad..raat mein..raat main aisa kya ho sakta hai"
"Arey haan wo Vipul bata raha tha..aap kal subah hotel se aaye the.. to matlab raat mein hotel mein..aur bhabhi bhi thi aapke saath..kuch hua kya?" Mihir looked at Raman with expectant eyes.
Raman nodded.
Mihir : "OMG bhai!"
He could not control his elation, and got up and hugged Raman, almost jumping all this time.
Raman: "Abey bas kar!"
Mihir: "Kyun! Kyun nahin karoon main aapko hug? Saara quota bhabhi ke liye bachana hai kya? Main to kiss bhi karoonga is baat par aapko aaj"
He gave him a tight kiss on the cheek and then went back to sit on the chair.
Mihir: " Finally bhai! kar hi diya aapne! Too good bhai you are too good!"
"Achcha vaise ye to bahut achchi khabar hai! Phir aap pareshaan kyun hain itna? Aur aap kya keh rahe the fail ho gaya.."
Raman: " Kuch nahin yaar...isi mein fail ho gaya main"
Mihir: " Bhai aap isme fail kaise ho sakte hain..aap to experienced bhi hain na!"
Raman: " Pooch mat yaar tu. 2/10 diye Ishita ne mujhe isme. Ek biwi pehle hi bhaag chuki hai, kahin ab doosri bhi naa bhaag jaaye!"
Mihir: " Nahin bhai aisa ho hi nahin sakta..main jaanta hoon naa aapko..aapki performance buri ho hi nahi sakti"
Raman: "Kya..kya..jaanta kya hai tu mujhe aur meri performance ke baare mein be? Main bol raha hoon chup kar le isse pehle Romi ya mera wo bhai Raj sunle aur galat interpretation nikaale."
Mihir: " Hahaha..But bhai seriosly..dont worry. I am sure there is a misunderstanding. Aapne clear kari baat bhabhi se?"
Raman: "Try kiya maine dobara..but it made the situation only worse! "
Mihir: " Bhai aap tension mat lijiye..sab theek ho jaayega. I am sure. Bhabhi loves you a lot!"
Raman: "Wo pata lag hi gaya kitna pyaar karti hai mujhse...2/10! TWO On TEN! Matlab sach mein"
Mihir got up and held Raman.
" Bhai aap please sambhaliye apne aapko, royiye mat please. Sab theek ho jayega!"
