About the original post and Shagun / Ruhi Arora
Let's count the no. of tracks sidelined recently:
- Romi-Sarika = Are they married? Are they not? Who cares? Shagun / Ruhi overhears Ishita's personal conversation with her gynaecologist.
- Romi - Financial stability = Was it a one time thing? Or has he seriously established his business to be able to support at least his wife and kid? Does he know Ishita is Rohit's guarantor? Who cares? Shagun / Ruhi wants IshRa to come closer, hence taunts Ishita.
- Simmi - Future = Did Simmi join the women entrepreneurship course? Is she going to join Raman's business? Who cares? Shagun / Ruhi stays in touch with Raman's old colleagues who are able to reach out to her in a moment, while as Raman & others haven't been able to find her yet.
- Mihika - Abhishek = Is she interested in him? Or does she want to just stay friends and move ahead? Who cares? Shagun / Ruhi flies across the city to save Ishita from Ashok's clutches.
- Abhishek - Sarika = Is there an honor killing story? Why is Sarika afraid of her brother? Who cares? Shagun / Ruhi is unknowingly sharing her new home with an unknown man.
- Bala - Business - Romi = Has Bala been successful in establishing his coaching center? Does Romi know why Ishita asked Bala not to give business to him? Who cares? Shagun / Ruhi has hits and misses with the said man, at her own house.
- Adi - Baby = Does Adi have any feelings towards IshRa's baby? Is he as excited as Ruhi, or does he not want it? Who cares? Shagun / Ruhi has lovely nok-jhoks with the doctor.
CVs want Shagun to be a parallel lead, even though viewers have never accepted the character so? Even then, it is fine, at least show some logical transformation. Her gradual conversion from grey to black to purer than Ganges white avatar. Where is her remorse? Her struggle? Her strength to stay away from IshRa's life - where did it come from? Her concern and longing for her kids?
Or Ruhi Arora has selective amnesia, where she has forgotten all about Shagun, but still remembers how to taunt Ishita, but because she's Ruhi now so taunts a good heart & good intentions, and pats her own back when IshRa do it, because well, she instigated.
Want to give Shagun the screen space? Fine, do it. At least justify her getting it. Even Sarika & Pammi aunty's characters justify their presence in the overall story.
This is a disrespect to Anita as well, who has a good fan following, but her character is being forced down upon everyone unwillingly and hence will never command the appreciation that might be due.
