Just when Subbu was about to sign the papers, he stopped...since his pen had run out of ink...he tried thrusting it in the air for a bit...but it didnt work...none of the people present there could lend him a pen..Raman had one but he carefully stashed it in his inside pocket, perspiring and anxious at the same time, coz Ishu had still not arrived...
I was so impressed with how CVs executed this bit...yes, it might seem corny to some, but a simple thing such as a pen can delay important events in life, if it runs of of ink at a critical juncture...This scene, where Raman did not lend his pen despite having one, reminded me of a similar one in the court - from Tanu Weds Manu- where Manu (Madhavan) knowingly doesnt lend his pen to Tanu (Kangana) and the marriage doesnt end up getting registered coz apparently no one has a pen there and the registrar is in too much of a hurry and leaves the sceneđ Am sure YHM CVs got inspired by tht!đ It also showed how MUCH Raman trusts his wife and is willing to do whatever it takes to stand by her word...
That window period of delay allowed Ishu to reach just on time and prevent an impending disaster...Raman makes an excuse of fetching the pen from his car and tells the others to wait till he gets it... "mere bina sign mat kar lena' he tries to infuse some humour and rushes down...
He meets Ishu there who tells him not to ask her questions and just be with her...the marriage has to be stopped
Finally, the Registrar manages to get a pen from somewhere and just when Subbu bends down to sign it, Ishu marches in like Revolver Rani (sans the conical bras and the curly hair and the glares and the tight-fitting curvalicious jeansđ and of course, the gun itself)...Loved the entry...she swooped in on Subbu like an eagle, ready to gauge his eyes out...and snatches the pen before he could sign the doc...But somehow, DT could've done better with the expression...I felt that angry look on DT's face didnt suit her much...Like, I ABS loved the angry, outraged look on her face when she slapped Shagun (one of the happier times in YHM)...
So yeah, the Bhallas and Iyers get shocked...kisiko samajh mein nai aaya ki chal kya raha hai...abhi thodi der pehle, before the docs were to be signed..Registrar ne poocha tha sabse ki 'kisiko koi objection hai iss shaadi se?" and the Bhallas and Iyers had joyfully sang in a chorus "NO"
But now, Ishu declared to the registrar that she objected to this marriage... "Main dulhan ki Bhabhi hun...aur main yeh shaadi bilkul nai hone de sakti"
Simmi and Toshi look perplexed, wondering why Ishu has changed sides...
In the meanwhile, the Registrar gets furious and admonishes them "yeh kya hai yeh sab? aapke parivaar ke logon iss shaadi se problem hai aur aap logon yahan hain? please jayiye yahan se...apni problem bahar suljhayiye"
Before Bhallas could round up on Ishu, she took Simmi's hand and walks out of the courtroom
Sujata and Subbu, who had only looked fearful when Ishita barged in, looked positively like silhouettes of ghosts ...Subbu, especially, lost his cool and followed the Bhallas/Iyers outside... it looked he was going to create an ugly ruckus
Once outside, Ishu began telling the others, "Subbu ne humse bahut jhooth bole hain, maine bahut koshish ki main Bala jiju se bhi baat karun...koi meri baat sunna hi nai chahta tha...phir maine Shaila Bua ko phone kiya...London mein..mera shak confirm ho gaya...unhone address sunte hi turant pehchaan liya ki yeh Subbu ka address hai...unhone kaha ki main yeh shaadi kisi bhi tarah se rok lun"
"Woh kal hi aa rahi hain..keh rahi thi ki koi bahut badi kahani hai Lakhshmi ke suicide ke peeche...woh yahan aake batayengi"
BRILLIANT! ONLY ONE THING - I understand Ishu ne tav mein aake sab kuch keh diya, but I wish she hadnt told about Shaila Bua coming to India the very next day IN FRONT OF SUBBU AND SUJIE, coz its obvio they wont let that happen if they knew about it...Conversely, WHY does Shaila bua need to COME to Delhi to tell the Bhallas what happened...she can always talk over the phone or SKype it out naeen? So it shudnt be a big dealđ
Subbu gets angrier by the minute... Ishu requests Toshi, "Mummy ji...Smmi ke life mein pehle se hi itne problems reh chuke hain...ab iski pareshani aur mat badhayiye...Subbu iske liye sahi nahin hai"
By now, Subbu has lost it...and yells at Ishita, "ISHITA, HOW DARE YOU?! Tum pehle se hi mere khilaaf thi...tum kabhi meri khushi nahin chahti thi...tumhen sach pata bhi hai?" AND THEN SUDDENLY, JUST LIKE THAT, HE LUNGED FOR ISHU'S THROAT AND SQUEEZED IT HARD AT is a BAD, BAD BAD ACTOR...And yet, this strangulation scene enacted outside a courtroom in presence of all family members was scary...and disgusting..that followed a lot of chaos, when Raman and others tried to contain Subbu, and pry his hands off Ishita's throat...even as he kept yelling, "I will kill you! Main tumhen chhodunga nahin"
Rinky's expression was BANG - ON...It was along the lines of, "Yeh pagal ho gaya hai kya?"
and that is how the others looked at Subbu...horrified...astounded...
My suggestion is - EVEN if Subbu turned out to be a saint otherwise who probably didnt murder his wife, the fact remains...Toshi and Bhalla ji would have to be really gutsy to marry their daughter off to this MADMAN who gets hyper and starts raging like a bull at the slightest provocation...and sometimes when there is no cause to be provoked...đ Kuch bhi karo Toshi ji, Simmi ji shaadi isse na karana
LOVED AND SO IMPRESSED BY HOW RAMAN FOUGHT WITH SUBBU...AND EVEN SLAPPED HIM HARD... "How dare you touch her!"đ
And all the people who thought Raman had a short fuse, would be thanking Ishu didnt get married to this unpredictable maniac Subbu... Pagal Madrasaan, Langdi Madrassan, etc, etc is infinitely better than "I will kill you!"...
Sujata is ONE real bitch...I mean, Subbu WOULD have told the Bhallas his real motive, had Sujie not tried to calm him down and sever him away from the scene...Wonder what her reaction will be like once she gets to know Subbu lied to HER as well...he seems to be lying left right and centre, like squatting flies huh??đ
Felt so sorry for Simmi...here she was, ready to enter a new life...and with all this drama and commotion unleashed in such a sudden burst of fates, she looked stoned...and sort of like someone, who had resigned to her fate...But I know, Simmi's stronger and she will emerge better and stronger out of this shit...
Ghar pe bhi Subbu ka hi discussion chalu tha..why did he do this? humne uska kya bigada hai? Simmi wondered - Woh hamare paas chalke aaya tha, usne dikaya ki use hamari zaroorat hai..phir yeh sab natak kyun? Mere aur Ananya ke emotions ke saath kyun khela usne?"
Toshi and Simmi...this time around, we have NO such privileges being an AUDIENCEđ...coz even we cant figure out WHY he did what he did...so tough luck there...I mean, like UTTER FOOLS we tried to decode plane crashes and tried so many permutation-combinations in our head FOR A GOOD MONTH! Or maybe more...We tried to guess which of the Bhallas took charge of the cockpit the day Lakshmi and Karthik flew/mistakenly advised Lakshmi to fly by that particular airline/Push Lakshmi and Karthik through the window seat right down to their death...Seriously. We could not. So we are just as lost.đ
And now that we know Lakshmi fell off the tenth floor of a high rise building, we wouldnt dare rack our brains anymore.
Ishu informed Toshi that this was all related to Lakshmi's suicide...I liked the fact that she asked some very pertinent questions... ki Sujie being this women's rights activist and this social welfare genius, WHY IS SHE SUPPORTING SUBBU IN ALL OF THIS?? Raman says, "dono ne milke humein bewakoof banaya hai" and vows to give it back to them. Go Raman Go! Make sure you send THIS one to jail!!
Subbu and his bad acting. Zindabad.đĄ. He looked SO OVER THE PLACE TODAY. Granted, he is mentally ill but Ive seen SCORES of actors nailing this mental patient thing ...Subbu just, dropped the act to its new depths...at one time, I thought Bhallas were trying to curb a wild cub...desperate to attack but doesnt have the strength and the skills yet...đObviously he and Sujie are discussing what to do next..Subbu calls up the UK embassy and puts in a complaint regarding Shaila Bua...I mean, Subbu is supposed to be this CRIMINAL who even SHaila Bua knows of and warned the Bhallas against..and yet, UK Embassy could let him fly down to India and Shaila Bua with no previous criminal record cant fly in now, coz Subbu with his extensive networking skills and hold over UK officials put in a complaint...wat idiocy...!
So yeah, when Raman made that long-distance call to Shaila Bua, she was sitting stiff in the Embassy Office...after a lot of requesting, she was allowed to take the call... "Immigration office ne mujhe rok ke rakha hai...keh rahe hain passport mein kuch problem hai..." In the midst of the Embassy guy repeatedly telling her, "Your time is up" Shaila Bua squeezed in some relevant words of widsom... "Subbu bahut hi ganda ladka hai...woh hamari Simmi ke liye bilkul theek nai hai..meri baat dhyaan se sun Raman...uske mann mein jo fitoor hai, uske liye hum zimmedar nai hai" and then click. The line snapped.
So as I suspected, Subbu is getting hot and bothered about something which he THINKS the Bhallas have done...not what they REALLY have done. If this is truly the case, then shame on you CVs...you wasted precious hours and weekends of our life...đ
Anyway, today was one of the WORST in terms of AT's acting... "Main Simmi ko barbaad kar dunga...meri Lakshmi unki wajah se marr gayi...ab Simmi bhi usi tarah apni jaan de degi"
Tu paagal hai kya re Subbuđ..Simmi ne Param ko thikane laga diya, who had more brains and more villainous oomph in him that you can EVER have...and lived through it...you think she'll die coz of a mental patient like you? Really? If NOW Simmi married you, she'd set you right without the need of any electrical shocks or anything else...go man, have ur meds..dont bore us...and anyway, Raman ka ek thappad tere liye kafi tha...
All is well between Bala and Ishu...I was more disappointed with Vandu that day, when she sided with Subbu...but today she acknowledged, ki "Ishu bina kisi solid reason ke kabhi baat nai uthati"
I hope Vandu and Bala NEVER FALL IN SUBBU'S EMOTIONAL NONSENSE EVER!
WHERE IS BALA'S MOM? DIKHI HI NAI...THAT'S VERY STRANGE!!
Mihik and ACP have met up in the coffee shop...ACP ki acting bahut unconvincing lagi mujhe yaar...I mean, if your friend turns out be a violent, murderous freak would you have that hint of a smile on your face, looking like you're strolling the park, when you mull it over or would you go all ballistic..like "WHAT! THAT XYZ GUY? HE'S BEEN MY BEST FRIEND FOR YEARS...I DONT BELIEVE THIS!"
For starters, if ACP IS Subbu's friend, then why cant he tell the Bhallas about whatever he knows of him?? Kaisa dost hai yeh...ufff...
And ONE more time if he says "mere London wale friend se maine poocha hai" bas..permanently London pahunchane dena hai ise...arey your London wala friend couldnt do it in two days which Ishu and Shaila Bua did in one hour! Mihika- ACP conversations seem to me like gradual build-up of a full-flown romance in the near future...more the the ACP using his police officer wale skills...
The last scene was one of the best today...Raman was in a plaintive mode, recalling how VIOLENT Subbu got, in a flash of a second...
"Subbu tumhara ex hai, phir bhi maine uske baare mein kabhi bura nai socha hai, in fact mujhe uspe taras aaya hai ki usne tumhen chhod diya...but aaj jo hua...it was shocking! Pagal aadmi, tumpe aise kaise haath utha sakta hai woh!" Aww...he is still stuck in that time frame...Puttar cant believe Biwi's ex tried to STRANGLE her...and that shudnt be too easy to forget, coz well, it looked ugh!đ
So yeah, Ishu suggests that they could go meet Subbu's psychiatrist..and try to find out what's going on in his life...citing this recent attack on her...apparently, the patient-doc confidentiality code could be gotten thru if it could be shown that the patient is actually out to harm someone's life...Really? am not sure...pata nai...but anyway, seems Raman is in on the plan...dekhte hain aage kya hota hai..
PRECAP - Today's episode was, by far, quite realistic...but tomorrow's epi has some high-voltage drama it seems..Raman and Ishu have gone to meet the psychiatrist...and tried to appeal to her better nature and seek her cooperation...Like an idiot, she too acknowledges they are correct in what they are saying... but she cant help..
Hang on, wasnt SHE the one repeatedly asking Subbu to share his pain with the family members? Then why was she backing out now?
And so, kahin se, Vidya Balan takpofies and interrupts...asks the doc" aap unki madad kyun nai kar sakti?"
What is VB here? Fellow doc, nurse, visiting professor from the overseas?đ
P.S. For Christ's sake, Shaila Bua, dont make passport and visa an issue ...just skype your info or even WhatsApp it...nai to ask the Bhallas to make one long expensive long-distance call to youđ Smile and say 'Cheese' to the Embassy officer now...but go back home and kick up your heels and do THIS! Right away
P.S. Where are the kids? Are they traumatised? And dont wanna be a part of this sordid track??
