Good observation about him not taking her work seriously. Definitely true. For Amma the justification I'll give is that they cooked up his idea so Ishu can't escape saying she's busy with work. So in a way he is trying to accommodate her (don't hit me please!). Mainly he really wants her as his wife. Provided she changes some things once that happens obv 🤢
