"Itna bhi pyar nahi karti aap se ke Non-veg khaaun"
Did she just say that!?
Did she really say that!?
Woah woah woah! Mr.Raman Bhalla! Your lovely wife seems to have fallen for you.
Itna bhi pyar nahi karti she said. That means thoda to pyar karti hai.
Thoda sa pyar hua hai, Thoda hai baki
Filhaal mere liye itna hai kaafi😃
Achha mouqa hai beta...Chouka maar de...Itna keh diya hai kya patha woh bath bhi keh de jo tu ek saal se sunne ko taras raha hai...
I held her hand that was holding the serving spoon and asked "To kitna pyar karti ho?"
The look on her face said that she had not realised what she had just spilled out until I asked her this.
She gawked at me with open mouth and looked at her with a wide grin.
Clank the spoon in her hand fell and she jerked her hand away busying herself in nervously cleaning the little mess the falling of the spoon had created.
She was clearly trying to avoid my gaze which was fixed on her and noticing her every move.
After having cleaned it, she went on to serve herself some food
"Ishita" I called out for her
"Hmm" she said looking up for a brief second and then shifting her gaze elsewhere when my eyes met hers
"Tumne mere sawal ka jawab nahi diya" I said holding her hand again
She pulled it away and said "Mujhe bahut bhook lagi hai. Khana thanda hojayega" and started serving herself not paying heed to what I asked
I smirked looking at her nervousness and the coloured cheeks.
I just love the effect I have on her.
And I could wait for her to reciprocate my feelings.
"Koi jaldi nahi hai. Mai intezar karunga" I said before beginning to savour the delicacies that waited for my attention.
Ishq bulava jaane kab aave
Ishq bulaava aave jab aave
Mai tha kol tere raina
Mai tha kol tere raina
Mai tha baitha kol tere
The song played in background as if reflecting my feelings at the moment.
I chuckled What a coincidence! In our last date too the song in background depicted my condition then.
The background songs and my feelings sure have some cosmic connection!
She must have heard me chuckling and lost in thoughts "Kya hua Raman?"
"Ye gaana sun rahi ho?"
"Haan. Apko pasand hai?"
"Hmmm...ab tak to nahi tha...par ab se honewala hai"
"Woh kyun?"
"Kyunki ab isse meri ek khas yad judi hai"
"Mai samjhi nahi"
"Is waqt ye gaana mere dil ka haal batha raha hai"
She strained her ears to listen to the song and when the lyrics sank in she blushed profusely
"Ye date literally pichle date ka Action Replay hai. Yaad hai pichle date pe bhi aisa hi kuch hua tha?"
"Par ye maine plan nahi kiya tha" she said hurriedly in her defense
I laughed out loud and Sanam Puri seems to have caught it as he sang the next lines
Tainu takda ravaan
Baaton pe teri mai hansda ravaan
Pagal mai khudnu banaanda ravaan
Her joining me the laughter added to the effect while the song went on
Tu hansdi rave mai hansaanda ravaan
Tainu takda ravaan
We continued eating silently as the song did the necessary talking.
After lunch, she took me to her clinic. Like an excited kid gushing about its new toy, she took me around showing every corner of the place. Although I was not keen about exploring the world of dentistry, the enthusiasm on her face kept me elated.
(Author not so keen about narrating the happenings in the clinic, so skipping it)
The sun had set leaving the darkness behind when we stepped out of her clinic.
The day that had started with expectations that led to disappointments which turned into surprises was coming to an end.
I wish it was 21st of June today, the longest day of the year, so that I could some more time getting some more surprises from my dearest wifey.
I would not say this is the best day of my life rather I would call it a day of my favourites.
Favourite Colour: Blue
Favourite Restaurant: Sonu Da Dhaba
Favourite Dish: Butter Chicken, Seekh Kabab, Tandoori Chicken
And as I spent this day, some more favourites added on to my list
Favourite Breakfast: Licking from the lips of my wife
Favourite Pastime: Staring at my wife
Favourite Site: My blushing wife
Favourite Chauffeur: My nervous wife
Favourite Cartoon: My excited wife
And everything that surrounds my wife.
Gosh! I love her so much.
"Raman" a tap on my shoulder followed by her voice brought me back
"Hum pahunch gaye" she said
"Oh" I said unbuckling the seat belt and getting down.
"Yeh hum kahan agaye?" I asked looking around "Tumne to kaha tha ke hum ghar ja rahe hain"
"Hum ghar hi jarahe hain"
"Phir yahan kyun roka? Tumhari khatara Gadi ne hath de diya kya?"
"Meri gaadi khatara nahi hai ok" she said glaring at me
"Ok...Ok" I said acting scared "Phir hum yahan kyun ruke?"
"Yahan se ghar sirf 20 minute ki doori par hai"
"Haan...To?"
"If you don't mind hum yahan se paidal chalein?"
Your idea of ending a romantic date: A walk hand in hand with my date in the dark lone streets of Delhi
I had said that in an interview.
Wait! Now I get it!
This is how she knows about all my favourites.
"Tumne meri interview padi thi na?" I asked amused
She pursed her lips and nodded her head like a naughty kid.
"Par woh interview to bahut pehle ayi thi. Tumhe kahan se mili"
"All thanks to google and Mihika"
"Matlab?"
"Miku ne pehle bataya tha mujhe is interview ke bare me. Mujhe yaad aya to maine google pe RKB Fanclub search kiya aur dhoond nikala"
"Tumhe RKB fanclub ke bare me patha tha?"
"Haan Miku ne bataya tha. She is a member too"
"Oh iska matlab saali sahiba meri fan hain!"
"Haan...Bahut badi fan hai aapki"
"Aur tum?"
"Mai to..." she stopped abruptly
"Tum to?"
"Mai to apki biwi hun" she changed smartly
"To biwiyon ko fan banna allowed nahi hai kya?" Tu smart to mai bhi smart
"Aaa...ermm..."
"Batane ki zarurat nahi. Mai samajh gaya"
"Kya?"
"Wahi jo samajhna chahye"
"Kya samjhe?"
"Mai kyun bataun jab tum mujhe nahi bata rahi ke tum meri fan ho ya nahi"
She did not respond to that but continued walking looking down.
I walked beside her silently, our hands inches apart.
We had walked a few steps when our hands brushed and hers jolted as if a wave of current passed through.
I looked at her and she looked at me.
I smiled at her and she bit her lip in response.
That's what you should be doing now my heart prodded.
Not so soon dear. Didn't you see how she jerked when your hand brushed hers? My mind chided.
Aaa...ermmm...You are right buddy my heart agreed.
I am always right my mind gushed.
The word is 'often' not 'always' my heart mocked.
Whatever! But take it slow my mind instructed.
Whatever! Now let me go my heart rhymed.
Although my heart rubbished the instruction of my mind, my body obeyed it.
I now deliberately brushed the back of my palm with hers as we walked ahead.
She did not jerk it away.
Taking at as a green signal, I let the back of my palm touch and sway along with hers.
She did not back off.
So I slowly took my palm around our wrists crossing each other and the tips of our fingers touching.
I let them be like that for a while and then slipped my fingers between hers but not entwining them completely.
I waited for her reaction.
After a few seconds, I felt her fingers curling around mine.
My lips curved into a full smile as I held her hand in a firm hold and we walked wordlessly forgetting the world around us cherishing the moments of togetherness.
She halted in her steps after about 5 minutes.
"Raman mujhe aapse kuch kehna hai" she said
Oh my! She is going to say it!
I felt my heart would explode with joy!
My wait of one year is going to end finally!
I signalled her to go ahead
"I..." she started nervously gripping my hand that was in her hold
My grip on her hand got stronger indicating her that I was listening
"I..." she gulped nervously
"I" and two more words followed
Did she just say that!?
