"Sach hai ke dil to dukha hai
Humne magar socha hai
Dil ko hai gham kyun
Ankh hai nam kyun
Hona hi tha jo hua hai
Us bath ko jane hi do
Jiska nishan Kal ho naa ho"
Did he just say that?
His eyes glistened with tears,
My eyes turned moist too,
Raman wiped a tear at the corner of his eye!
"Sab kismat ka khel hai. Is par hamara koi bas nahi hai" he said smiling weakly.
Akka often used to say God is the best Planner!
Today I realised what she meant.
My life may not be going the way I planned it!
But its definitely going the way God planned it!
And God is the best Planner after all!
Who else but He would know what is best for His creations!
"Aur jo hotha hai achhe keliye hotha hai" I added.
"Hmmm...I hope so. Anyways ab mujhe chalna chahiye" he said.
"Arrey aise kaise? Sham tak ruk jao. Shadi attend karke chale jana" Raman invited him for the wedding
"Sorry boss! Mujhse nahi ho payega. Don't get me wrong please. Mera dil tumhare jitna bada nahi hai Raman ke mai apne pyar ko kisi aur ka hote hua dekhoon. Sham tak kahin mera irada badal gaya aur mai villain ban gaya to phir museebat ho jayegi. Ab tak mai is kahani me Main Lead to nahi par ek positive character play karta aya hun, jate jate khud ko negative nahi banana chahta. So it's better I leave" he explained
"I understand. It's alright" Raman hugged him
"Thanks buddy" he said returning the hug
I smiled at them
I have seen people fight for love
I have heard friends becoming foes for love
But here I was a witness to the friendship of two people who could have easily turned foes
I guess it's all because of Raman's goodness
Why am I giving the entire credit to Raman? You may wonder
I don't deny that Viren is a nice person but if Raman had not sacrificed initially, then this bonding would not be possible
Viren himself admitted that his heart is not as big as Raman
So basically it's Raman who is responsible for this scene that is unfolding in front of me
"Time to say good bye buddy" Viren said breaking the hug
"Yeah...Keep in touch" Raman said giving a handshake
"Hmmm...I won't promise...pehle khud ko achhi tarah samjha lunga ke Anamika ab hamesha keliye chali gayi hai... mai bewajah tum logon keliye pareshani nahi banna chahta"
He turned towards me then
"Ishita...hamara sath sirf Char Kadam ka tha...Kash maine usi din tumhara hath sari umar keliye mangliya hotha to shayad aaj kuch aur hi majra hotha...anyways as you said jo hotha hai achhe keliye hotha hai. Is yaqeen ko sath lekar ja raha hun. Hamesha khush raho" he said softly
I simply nodded
"Aur haan ek bath tum bhi yad rakhna"
I looked at him quizzically
"Sare Ajnabi bure nahi hothe" he smirked
I chuckled and showed a thumbs up
"Bye" he waved
"Bye" I waved too
"Tumhe kahin drop kar dun?" Raman asked
"No I will manage. Ab aage ka safar mujhe khud hi thay karna hai ek nayi manzil ki taraf. Tumhari manzil tumhara intezar kar rahi hai" Viren said to Raman pointing towards me
Waving a last good bye Viren started his journey towards an unknown destination
An awkward silence prevailed between me and Raman
I had my eyes on my toes that were drawing imaginary patterns on the floor
A lot had happened in this one night
Acceptance, Sacrifice, Confrontation etc etc
All the events of the night replayed in my mind in few minutes of silence which was broken by Raman
"Abhi tak naraz ho?" he asked
That reminded me of the confrontation
I was still miffed so I did not respond
"Ishita" he called out
But I chose to keep quiet
"Mere taraf dekhogi bhi nahi"
I nodded my head in negative still keeping it bent
"Bath bhi nahi karogi"
I did an action replay
"Pakka?"
I nodded in affirmative
"To mai jaaun?"
I stood still
"Mai jaaun?" he repeated
I was angry but I did not want him to leave
Yet I did not want him to know that I want him to stay
"Mai ja raha hun"
I slowly checked if he is leaving
When I found him still standing in the place I knew he would not leave
"Mai sach me jaraha hun"
I heard tapping of foot
I thought he would really leave and instantly my head shot up only to find him standing at the same place and tapping his foot
He had a lop-sided smile on his face
I glared at him
With a sheepish grin he stepped ahead and said "Actually mai ja hi raha tha. Par mujhe yad aya ke mujhe tumse tumhare beauty salon ka number lena tha. Isliye ruk gaya?"
I gave him a puzzled look meaning what will you do with it?
"Mujhe bhi sham keliye make-up karwana tha" he said with a serious face
I gave him Are you out of your mind look
"Nahi maine aaj tak kabh make-up nahi ki hai. Par aaj make-up ki zaroorat hai. Wo kya hai na ek gaal mera laal hogaya hai. Isi halath me agar Shadi me chala gaya to log to poochenge na ke kisne chanta maara. It would be embarassing right?" he asked with a tongue in cheek
I gave him a I am not sorry It was your mistake look
"Aise hi chala jaun? Pakka? Phir to mujhe logon ko batana padega ke bholi bhali Ishita Iyer ke chehre ke peeche ek Jhansi ki Rani hai"
"Aapne mujhe Jhansi ki Rani bulaya? How dare you? Theek hai...agar mai Jhansi ki Rani to aap Ravan Kumar. Mujhe kidnap karke Viren ke hawale jo karnewale the. Isliye aap Ravan Kumar. Samjhe na" I accused him
"Samajh gaya" he nodded obediently "Kam se kam isi bahane tumne bath to ki. Mera plan kamyab raha" he winked
I opened my mouth and closed it like a fish
I had fallen into his trap
"Aise ladte hue you look cute"
"Pataane ki koshish kar rahe ho?"
"Wo koshish to ek saal se jari hai. Kash mai isme kamyab ho patha" he commented dramatically
"Apko na business chod ke poori tarah writing pe concentrate karna chahiye. Movies ke script likhna shuru kardo. Bahut kuch hasil karloge"
"Aaj jo maine hasil ki hai uske badd mujhe kisi aur cheez ki chahat nahi hai"
"Kya matlab?"
"Aaj maine us ladki ko hasil kiya hai jisko dekhte hi mujhe pyar hogaya tha. My love is back"
I could not stop a blush rising on my cheek and a wide smile spreading on my face
Raman's POV
The bright rays of sun started to appear on the dark sky when she smiled
It appeared as if the sun was waiting for her to spread that smile to re-appear on the sky
I felt content
"Lo subah hogayi. Kya hum is nayi subah me hamari zindagi ke nayi kahani ki nayi shuruat karein?"
She nodded agreeing
I was more than happy
"To phir shuru se shuru karte hain.
Hi I am Raman Kumar Bhalla" I said extending a hand towards her
She smiled amused and shook my hand
"Hi I am Ishita Raman Bhalla"
Did she just say that!?
