There is a very popular saying that is very true... "Squeaky Wheel Gets the Grease"
Parents always care more for the baby who is either 1. weak/sick or 2. always gets into trouble.
Now kids also know that (any of you who have a sibling and/or kids know very well). That's why the kid who wants attention always gets into trouble.
Why I'm saying this now?
Let's take this particular situation.
Adi - Squeaky Wheel
Ruhi - Silent Wheel
Who gets the grease i.e. attention of Raman? Adi.
Now he may love Ruhi equally. But in his mind, Adi needs him more than Ruhi because Ruhi does not squeak.
Same with Ishita. Why would she assume that her picking Adi over Ruhi won't scar Ruhi? Because that little girl was always silent and steady as a rock, she forgot that at the end of the day, she is just a little girl.
We tend to take people who are steady and silent, for granted. We think those people will always be there. Whenever we need them, we only have to look back. But when they go away, then you realize their worth.
Today we saw that Ruhi has turned away from every single one of them because every one of them failed her.
Because she is at the end of her patience.
When Raman turned away from her because she looked like her mother, she tolerated it and kept on trying because she found Ishita.
She protected Ishita from every single trouble her own mother created for her.
She believed in Ishita's promise and left with Shagun. But Ishita failed her. She didn't have the same unquestionable loyalty towards her as she had for her Ishi maa. At the end, her loyalty towards her husband's happiness won over her loyalty towards her (I'm sorry to say this) husband's daughter.
It will be extremely hard for them to get that unshakable loyalty back. And honestly I don't blame Ruhi.
You can't ask for something, what you never gave in the first place.
