R&B's character remains the most intriguing in the story. Anything that tells me more about him is always welcome. I've always wondered who marliese is as a person. She has to be somebody to keep r&b hooked to her for four bloody years.

I honestly feel its not a big deal "now" .
Could be a lot of things that kept him going but i feel M will not be a mean cunning subbu , she will be more casual would have let him be and is normal enough person to come and see his wife and be actually happy for him .

The space that Marliese has occupied in II's head has stayed the same before and after marriage .
I am on a different tangent which has me thinking if maybe madam writer had brought in Ashu's 'm'anhoos for the wedding, it wouldn't be awkward for II now after marraige at dinner. Because she would have already been conditioned or exorcised her ghosts!!

She is afraid he will perceive it as a "middle class" quality. Not that she is hiding from her roots, but if he discovers that there is possessiveness in her, that would mean he knows too much

By claiming R&B she will make it apparent to him that he means way more to her than she has revealed thus far.

By sitting back and enduring Marliese politely she is betraying herself. Her natural instinct is to go for that girl's throat

She CANT be like these high society girls, she cant be progressive in thought, if he breaks up with her 2 or 5 years from now, she would be dead... not calling him to replace a light bulb :(
She cant understand anything less than passionate. Anything less than passionate doesn't exist in her books
How can she part amicably with him? Its like expecting her to donate her heart without being dead without going on anesthesia :(

Its not M who is vampy... She just has to show up to send II over the edge n in dispair. N R&B has seen how low II feels just with thoughts in her head. Seeing her, forget interaction, just her sight will make II feel liw. You dont bring an Ex up in honeymoon, however friendly. Thats low!! You know in the west, most breakups are followed by a period of no contact. Generally a year is that NC period. N the "contact again" phase depends on whether the new partner is comfortable about it, howver amicable be the breakup. Its OK to not be comfy abt ex. There is no 'maturity' in being not comfy as the experts say. Its a personal thing. Am just feeling its below the belt. I would have flipped the table, even if I had so much as seen ex in 500mtrs of my boyfriend. Am just possessive kinds. I dont mind you have a past, just dont bring her in any capacity in my present or future. Thats all! Specially if she isnt your ex-wife n you got nothing binding her to u for life.

One thing is certain baba, before and after marriage the m word is only a predicament. We are all like the veal chops being grilled by R&B at the mere mention of the first alphabet in her name. She has us grilled, cooked and burnt 😭
