**First of all I'm really sorry for the delay. i got carried away with personal things and I sort forgot about this 😳 But I'll be updating a long update to compensate for it. I had to re-read my own story to even know where I was going with this lol😆...I managed to come up with an update, still trying to pick up ideas but I hope those who enjoyed this story still like it . Do let me know how it is!

Part 4

Raman was knocking on the door at seven the next morning. Finding it open he let himself in.

"Ishita" he called, hearing no answer he walked down the hall toward the bedroom. Ishita" he said knocking on her bedroom door, He heard her in the bathroom throwing up and slowly opened the door. " You okay Ishita?" he asked and she shook her head as another wave of nausea hit her and she threw up again. He knelt down and swept her hair out of the way. "Can I get you some water?" he asked as she wiped her mouth on her sleeve, she nodded. Standing up he walked toward her kitchen taking a glass out of the cupboard and filled it at the sink and moved back to her room and handed to her. "Thanks" she whispered.

"No problem, should I call the doctor?" he asked being worried. Seeing her like this was not easy for him. She looked pale, she looked weak and he cursed the fact it was all happening because of him." Nope,lets go to the office" she stood up fighting off another wave of nausea and led him to the front door. They dropped by at their favorite cafe in Mumbai. Ishita asked for her green tea along with plain toast, she kept it light in the fear of throwing up again. Raman ordered his favorite hash-browns and eggs. Ishita thanked the waitress as she placed her tea in front of her and watch Raman with disgust as he poured ketchup all over his meal.

"So have you given any thoughts to how you want the break the news to the chief?" Raman asked with a mouthful of food. Ishita swallowed hard and sighed "No, I was kind of hoping you would have thought something."

He looked at her. She looked quite lost and confused. He knew this wasn't easy for her. "We'll think of something" he assured her and she nodded with a smile.

"Hey guys!" Vandu said as she walked over to them and sat at the table next to them. Mihika and her son Sharvan was with her.

"Morning Vandu, Morning Mihika and morning pal" Raman said. Ishita smiled but before she can say anything, she felt sick again.

"Excuse me" she said quickly and ran to the washroom.

" Is everything alright with Ishu?" Vandu asked.

"yeah, she isn't feeling well but didn't want to stay home. You know her." Raman said with a sigh. He was finding it difficult to sit there. He wanted to go check up on her, but he couldn't. "If you don't mind , can you check up on her for me Miku" Raman requested.

"ah yeah, absolutely!" Mihika said getting up heading toward the washroom.

"Mihika , you come with Raman and Ishu okay, I have to drop Shravan off at school." Vandita called out.

" I better get going actually, See you at work" she said looking at the watch then at Raman. Raman nodded.

Once Ishita came back with Mihika, Raman looked at her with questioning eyes. He so badly wanted to take away her discomfort. Why is it that only women had to go through all the difficulties of pregnancy, he wondered. God was unfair he concluded. Ishita knew what his look meant. " I'm fine Raman!, feeling much better now, let's go" She said with a smile.

Once they reached office, they wasted no time to go Mr. Tandon's office, the chief editor of the news firm.

" Hey chief! We need to talk to you!" Raman said as they sat down opposite to him.

"sure, what's the deal?"

Ishita looked across at Raman. He gave her assuring nod. It was enough for her to know he was behind her all the way. She took a deep breath before she spoke. "Well first off, I'm pregnant!"

Tandon froze in shock. He stared at Ishita for few minutes. "You're pregnant?" He asked in disbelief. Ishita nodded. No matter who Ishita told this to, they all were going to give her the same reaction. Ishita was not that type of person, the ones who gets pregnant before marriage. "Well congratulations ...I didn't know you were seeing anyone..." he trailed off still in disbelief.

"I'm not...and the second thing is ...Raman is the father"

Tandon nearly fell of his chair. Ishita pregnant was already a shock enough, but with Raman's child was just beyond his wildest imagination. These two were cats and dogs, they couldn't even agree on simple assignment without making his head break apart. Of course they always delivered the best work compared to everyone else which is why he never separated them as a pair over the last seven years unlike what he did with others. He always felt there was something to these two, something that made them perfect with each other and those who observed them also knew this. But he chose to ignore that thought always. But it seems like his own thoughts were right after all.

"I didn't know you guys were together" he said in a surprise. Of course this was the good kind of surprise according to Tandon.

"We are not. It was just one time thing, an accident, we both had too much drink and..." Ishita started to blabber.

Tandon raised his hand not wanting too much details but he was able to get the gist of what happened. "So what's next? Planning to get married?" he asked

"Uh no...neither of us are in love, well I like Raman but strictly as a friend and he feels the same way about me. But we want the baby...so"

"so?"

"We will raise the baby as friends." Ishita said. It was evident she was trying so hard to make it sound convincing including to herself. " Raman will be the father of my baby and I will be the mother to his..and we will just be friends" She concluded and turn to look at Raman.

"Absolutely, that's the mutual agreement." Raman said in stern voice.

Tandon looked unconvinced. " We talked about this, so it's all good. We would still like to work together, despite this personal relationship now, if that's okay with you, I can promise it wont effect out professionalism " Ishita added.

"Well we don't have any regulations that prevent you from working together. Just inform the head office." Raman and Ishita nodded. Tandon looked across at Raman, it was evident on his face that he didn't agree with what Ishita just said. "Can you give us a minute Ishita" he asked and Ishita looked curiously at Tandon and Raman before getting up.

"sure boss." she walked out the cabin gently closing the door behind her.

"so how long have you been in love with her?" Tandon asked

"What ?!?! I'm not in love with her" Raman said trying to give his best bizarre look.

"You may be fooling her, but you can't fool me Raman".

Raman let out a sigh as he ran his hand in his hair.

"For way too long" He admitted.

" Then Why haven't you told her yet?!"

"You heard her didn't you? She isn't in love with me and I rather have her in my life as friend then not at all."

"So this baby?" Tandon asked raising his eyebrows.

"I know it's a mess." Raman's voice was stuck in his throat

"Look Ishita is like daughter to me and I want her to be happy. I think you should tell her how you feel."

"I can't" Raman stated without second thought.

"Well I can't force you, but I think you're making a mistake" Tandon said studying Raman's reaction. It was clear Raman also knew this was a mistake. Before Tandon could say anything further .

Well thanks Chief, I better go. We still have to inform others as well." Raman said getting up.

Tandon watched as Raman leave his office and walked over to Ishita. Although Ishita said she wasn't in love with Raman, the look she gave as Raman walked over to her and placed his hand on her shoulder told him she also felt same way toward Raman. Tandon only hoped Raman also saw this before it was too late.

The rest of the gang just stood there. Their mouth hanging open trying to form words that would convey what they were feeling. Vandu was the first to break the silence. " Well congratulations you two!" She said it awkwardly. "Does this mean you two are together? " Mihika asked soon after.

"No...we just going to be friends, raising the baby together" Ishita replied and Raman just nodded feeling that lump in his throat again. He was afraid if he were to say anything, they all would notice how unhappy he was with this plan.

"I'm going for a coffee" He finally managed to say and headed toward the break-room.

"What's up with him?" Romi asked.

" I don't know" Ishita said with a slight confusion. " Maybe I should go talk to him"

" No, I'll go" said Bala.

"So you're the friend?" Bala asked walking in on Raman who tried to look busy making his coffee.

"Come on Raman, don't hide from me. What's all this?" Raman sighed and turned to face Bala. Bala for the first time saw the pain in Raman's eyes.

"Oh god Bhalla, you're in love with her aren't you?" he asked, slightly taken back. Bala wasn't expecting this, the last time he remembered Raman was stating it as mistake , one that was committed due to being too drunk. Raman nodded.

"What am I going to do Bala? I'm in love with her and she doesn't feel a pinch of what I feel for her. And All because of that one night, she is carrying my baby." The pain that was seen in his eyes was also visible in his voice.

"Have you even asked her about what she feels about you?" Bala asked.

"I didn't need to, she told me herself. We are strictly friends according to her"

"You have to tell her Raman, she needs to know."

"How am I supposed to do that? Hey Madarasan, I'm so happy we are having the baby together cause I'm head over heels. Would do anything to make you mine. I'm so in love with you that I can't see anything else?" Raman finished of exasperatedly.

"Well maybe not like that" Bala said holding his hand over his mouth trying to think something. But he was lost on how to comfort his friend, how he could help to set it right. Raman slumped down on the table and buried his head in his hand.

"I just want to be alone for sometime" he murmured. Bala patted on his shoulder and headed out.

The rest of the day was spent in uncomfortable silence which was broken by the frequent trips to the washroom that Ishita took. Ishita was sick of Raman hovering around her and at one point she snapped and yelled at him. Which lead to a screaming match between them that ended with Raman storming out.

Raman paced in his apartment regretting his actions with Ishita. Regretting him yelling at her like that. He wished she was right here now, so that he can apologize to her. He was about to take his phone to dial her when he heard a soft knock on the door. He decided the call could wait and went to open the door.

"Hi" Ishita said sheepishly standing at his door.

"Hey". Raman replied in a surprise.

"I've been driving around the block for the past one hour, trying to find the courage to come up and apologize for yelling at you like that" Ishita said. Raman had a small smile creeping on his face. He couldn't believe that great Ishita Iyer, his crazy madarasan would ever apologize to anyone, that too him. That's just not her. Should he feel special now?, was something changing between them.

"No need to be sorry Ishita, You're right I was hovering and for that I should be sorry. so I'm sorry"

Realizing he was keeping her at the door "come on in" Raman said as he walked over to his couch and sat and Ishita followed.

"I think we have to establish some ground rules" Ishita said

"Ground rules?" he asked in confusion.

"Yeah so we know where we stand in this.." She trailed of trying to figure out the right word,"Situation" she finished and Raman as always nodded.

" okay rule one, you have to stop being so over protective all the time. I know you care Raman. She added when she noticed Raman was about to interrupt " but its driving me insane, I need you to back off a bit."

"Okay I'll try"

" Secondly , this is an important one. I don't want you to feel like you have to be with me at every step. I mean if you find someone else I don't want you to think you are obligated to me. You deserve to be happy and be with someone you love." Raman nodded in silence for this one. How he longed to tell her he was happy like this, he was with someone he loved.

" Can I add something?" he asked

"sure"

" I know you want me to be less protective and all but you have to remember you're pregnant and you are responsible for a whole other life so you have to be extra careful. No more heavy duty work, ok ?"

"Raman my job requires me to sit on a desk using the computer all day"

"well I seen you carry those heavy boxes of paper and running down the stairs"

Ishita couldn't help but to smile. He looked really cute like this. She liked this side to him.

"Okay I'll be careful"she assured.

"and you have to listen to the doctor, if the doctors says you need bed rest , you have to listen cause.." he looked in her eyes as he finished his sentence " This is my baby too"

" Fine I agree, but you know I hate staying home" she said rolling her eyes. "Speaking of the doctor, I made an appointment tomorrow, did you want to come with me?"

Raman smiled " wouldn't want to miss it for the world"

" Great, it's a 7 am. I got the earliest appointment so we wouldn't have to miss work."

Raman couldn't help but let out a small chuckle. She really loved her work alright. But anything that made her happy also made him happy even if it meant to waking up early, which he hated so much.

" well I better get going " she said getting up from the couch. "Thanks Raman for not freaking out and think I acted like this on purpose"

"I know you better than that Madrasan. Seven years!" And bam to his surprise she snaked her arms around his neck and crushed herself against him as she took him in a tight hug. It didn't take Raman long to hug her back. Both remained in the embrace for longer then needed, forgetting every single worry that lingered in their hearts and mind. It felt perfect to both. It felt right. It felt like the place to be.

"Good night, see you in the morning" she finally said breaking the embrace.

"yeah Good night, drive safe" he said as he watched her walk out the doors. He was going to have a hard time trying to forget this hug, having her in his arms , close against him. It already took over every single thoughts of his, he couldn't help but to curse his fate yet again.

Hi Viji,

Viji lovely update feel sorry for Raman he really love her but had to hde his feeling from her. He was caring and feel sorry to be the cause of her misery during pregnant period cause of her nausea and throw up. Their Boss and all friend know Raman love Ishu but Ishu did not know that or she also feel but hiding too. Why they not move to stay together or Raman offer her to move in then he can takecare of her when she not feeling well.both sid parents still not know about their news yet right.thank you for, 2 parts update and hope you will continue update next part.🤗

im really sad for raman,he loved so much that he obliged her every wish.

Stupid rules of ishita'how she think like that,she has to give a chance to raman...she has too much over confidence,that she manage baby single..

I love tandon expressions..and his reaction after knowing tom and jerry story.

all knows raman loves ishita expcept her..raman never said to ishita ,he dont want to marry her.she herself take the decision ,they grow up the baby as a friends.

Its look like she is insecure ,she think may be raman is not ready to take child responsibility,before going to another heart break in her life,she take this decision...jabar dasti rishta nahi bante types she thought.

i really not conveinced with her stupid rules.hope ishita realise her love for raman..and raman has to express his feelings ASAP..

If their parents come to know,how they react?
