Just who is going to stand up for Ishita other than
Ruhi? That is the magic of childhood, that children do not lower their eyes or look away in embarrassment like adults do when they see someone with an impairment they did not choose, being picked on.They fight for the underdog.Until they are taught "tameez" and "respect for elders".The problem with those lessons in manners,is that they are not taught to discriminate,to judge whether the other party is worthy of such respect.
Have we really become so blind in our insistence for conformity with social norms that we believe a vicious, vitriolic pathetic excuse for a human being such as Bala's mother deserves respect from anyone?
CVs are criticised for putting adult words in Ruhi's mouth. She is supposed to be all sweetness and light,as though she lived in Disneyland for the first six years of her life. The kid lived like an orphan, albeit within a joint family.Imagine going through nursery, kindergarten and primary school and watching other kids talking about their parents, and doing mundane things with them. For her it was like a dream, one that would always be out of reach. Her biological mother DUMPED her,her father could not bear to look at her.I would say that robs a child of innocence pretty quickly, wouldn't you?
Who else but a child would have the chutzpah to make an infertile woman go through a baby shower ceremony, one that was like a dream for Ishita, that would always be out of reach?
It was a simple gesture, of reading Ishita's inner desires, just as Ishita had read Ruhi's when they first met.
Ruhi and Adi can hardly be mentioned in the same breath. All Adi has ever fought for are material possessions, whether for himself or his mother. What were we expecting Ishita to do,slap Ruhi for her insolence and then wash Bala's mom's feet for complimenting her about her infertility?
I find Ishita's parenting skills to be above average. She has a weapon in Ruhi, and it would be a cakewalk to use her in her fight against Shagun.Have we come across any such incident?Ishita shields Ruhi from ugliness, but Ruhi
grew up a long time ago.She had to,in order to survive.
