They idicate nothing but just vs.
Actually round robin league matches.
If there are five teams in a group.
each team will play against all other teams in same group.
then two teams having highest points proceed to knockout rounds.
i guess you are right .in this as they are playing all matches with opposite group instead own group.
reverse order.
