It is your first topic I am commenting on and I am sorry I've delayed doing that, this far. I wasn't so active on this forum as much I am now.
First of all I have to say that your topics have an extremely different insight into the episodes and moments and you write your thoughts immensely well.
The quote you started the post with goes aptly with the situation in the show. A marriage that did start out as a deal in a way has now evolved into a beautiful relation. It isn't just a responsibility, a commitment for the namesake, but it is a bond building over trust, strength and love. And love has the power to heal everything. It is this love that healed Raman, helped him let go of his past, helped him choose right over wrong, be a better father, a better husband and man. He is bound to think it is all one sided and that although he's gained more than he deserved, and that Ishita has always been at a loss.
Earlier Raman wouldn't have cared, because for him and even for her this relation was about Ruhi. She was Ruhi's Ishima and he was Ruhi ke papa. But NOW, after falling in love, working on this marriage that isn't solely for the kid anymore her happiness matters. He loves her, and love here is weakening him rather than making him strong. He had said it once before too, love makes a man weak and stops him from being sensible. THAT is what Raman thinks of love as by his experiences. But Ishita is his strength, and he claims it every single day. She is the one whose love and strength will make him realize that problems are a part of life. He has them, so does she, but it is their love and companionship that will always be the healing power in their life, and which is more important than anything else in their life.
