CHAPTER 11

The parents had decided to take up one step at a time and had informed the same with every other member in the family. They felt the decision taken was for the betterment of the boy. Routine was followed day after day and the boy now neither remained sad nor happy. He was adjusting but tried maintaining a straight face and do what was required of him. He stayed in his own bitter world which was only him. His father could not help but compare this behavior of his son to him. The way he lived alone from everyone. He ran far away from reality and also from his problems. It took someone like Ishitha to make him understand the fact that if he had to move on, he had to face the truth one day or the other. Staying away from it only increased issues and not to mention it started running somewhat smoothly after he started facing it and accepting what was left off him which was Ruhi. He just did not have the heart to force his wife anymore to deal with Adi. She was doing everything that was possible in her hands but indirectly. Not once she demanded any sort of praise or whatsoever. His love and passion for his wife swelled like a sol-way but never ebbed like a tide. He was just observing the morning routine and laughed to himself. Before leaving for work, he made his way towards his wife bid her farewell for the day and kissed her forehead. An assurance for one another that they were together.

The kids were having lunch and the boy was trying to sneak out along wit his friends just for a while and he noticed a woman wearing her sunglasses staring at him. It did not take him long to recognize her, he turned back in to the school asking his friends to carry on. The lady approached him with a warm smile but he shrugged those and moved forward only to find his sister plastering a huge smile on her face. He just wanted to erase that smile but he turned to see the person who was responsible for it cos as far as he remembered their biological mother could never achieve to bring such a smile on her own daughter's face. It was the knight in shining armor of the house, his step mother. He was waiting for the day when she will ever reveal her true color for once somewhere in his heart he did not mind loosing to his step mom either. He was junior Raavan kumar and never wanted to express that openly not even in his dreams.

Ruhi and her mother just hugged each other only to receive some disgusted looks from Shagun. Ishitha, you can snatch Ruhi away from me but never Adi. He will love me and I will love him even if we are not destined to stay together. She just did not want to drag the issue in front of Shagun but something surprising just kicked her hard. "Excuse me ? You are talking about love, mom ? where was the love when you left Ruhi behind when she was months old ? Where was your love when your so called biological son was attending reformation ? Where was this love when you did not hesitate a minute to sign the custody of your children just for the sake of a man ? I have stopped loving anyone long back and as far you are concerned be happy I haven't started to hate you. As far as my step mother is concerned, we all know her inability yet she never tries to gain anyone's sympathy and in all these she gave me my space and I will always be grateful to her for that. Shagun loved her son truly and to hear such words from his mouth against her made her walk from that place without a word shared further. She just could not convince herself today, a single sign was all it took to change her son's attitude towards her. Did he love me so much. She envied Ishitha again and could no longer think of her as her sautan and disgrace her. Today she realized the value of her past life and she could only think about it but could never be a part of it anymore. This had hit her hard today after hearing her son's words whom she did and will love dearly.

Ishitha could just not believe whatever happened couple of minutes back. It was Ruhi who shook her out. She was way too emotional to respond to her son and today she was glad for not being able to conceive. God had blessed her with two lovely angels to cherish for 7 lifetimes. She smiled at Adi, "I am not capable of faking anything. I hate someone I hate them, today I could not stand when my mom claimed to love me and disgrace the love Ruhi has for you and well, other way also. I have always wanted to say this to you, I am really sorry for putting your mom's life in danger. I will make sure to take care of my things from now on and he walked back in to his class to join the rest of his friends. Ishitha completely forgot about her visit to the school. She hugged Ruhi and made sure she reached her class safely. Ishitha on the other hand drove back home with a new found joy in her heart.

She was sitting in her room with a photo in her hand. Her husband holding on to a tiny Ruhi in one hand and hugging Adi on the other side. This was the only photo she loved. All her loved ones in one single frame and there was no Shagun. She could not stand her presence even in the photos and started to hate her for the first time today for sowing such feelings in her son's heart. Yes, today she could openly address Adi also has her son without any worry. He was standing in his favorite position near the door just admiring his wifey, who was in turn admiring a photograph and was curious to know about the reason. He was sitting right near her with a hand on her shoulders. Raman, do you see this picture, out perfect family. It is not yet perfect Ishitha.. She looked at him questioningly, his hold tightened further and replied anything is perfect for me only if you are present. This is just the three of us and the person whom we need to survive was not there then. How can it be perfect was all he spoke. She was once again in awe of this man sitting next to her. Both hated each other, then married for Ruhi, then became friends and today when he spoke such words she felt all the more luckier. She kissed him on his cheeks and looked at him. Their eyes locked and she spoke Raman, Adi accepted me. It was like someone struck him with a high voltage electric shock. Haan Raman and narrated the events that happened in school. His face fell immediately. Raman, I have just witnessed this but you will be the first person to feel his love. That day is not far. It's a mother's promise to you and kissed his other cheek. He just hugged her tight which was disturbed shortly by their daughter. Both welcome her with open arms but their cheeks were red after getting caught and this was something which was happening quiet often. She just wanted to sit with her parents. "Papa, Ishima these days both of you spend more time together and keep doing huggie huggie like this" and she pouted. Both just cuddled, tickled and kissed her. The three got in to bear hug and was witnessed by Adi. The father daughter were in their own world playing with each other and Ishitha for once forced him to enter. This was the first time he entered their room, both Ruhi and Raman straightened up themselves. He just took a look at their room, to find a picture of him along with his sister taken during his last birthday and on the bed was lying around another photo of him in his father's embrace along with his tiny little sister. They offered him a place on the bed but he refused and sat on the couch. He was not very comfortable yet he wanted to witness the family moment.

Ruhi was laughing seeing his ever straight poker face and tugged her mother's hand. She whispered in to her ears Ishima, did I not tell you Adi Bhaiyya is Junior Raavan kumar. Ishitha just could not stop herself from laughing this time. Both laughed even harder after looking at their Raavan kumar's face and gave a hifi. He questioned the two and Ruhi was the bold one, Papa, myself and Ishima were looking at Raavan kumar and junior Raavan kumar. He just carried her off the bed and tickled her even further. Adi could only look at them, they were one happy family. No expectations what so ever and all they shared was love. This was something he never experienced with his mother even for a minute. That was when he understood about his dad. He was sure, that this man who his playing with his daughter like a 5 year old himself would have never hated him. He regretted his past years to have spent alone in a web of lies. Daughter was teasing her father and all the father did was carry her off her feat and play with her. When was the last time he experienced something like this. Experience was too far a dream, to even watch something like this was never in his destiny but today he could witness such a relationship. His heart tugged to be a part of it but how could he. He has fought so badly with Ruhi for every little problem that happened between his mother and father, he has shooed her and never wanted to be recognized himself with her. He has treated his father as a person to rescue him during misery but never called him dad like the way he deserved to. He was there with him every single day during his reformation time. His parents had argued even there, but his father had been there for him everyday. All he gave was insult in return. How could he repay the two of them ? He also knew if he even smiled at them they would gracefully take him in but he wanted to pay for his deeds today. There was another whom he could approach but can he reach out to her. What if she misunderstood the whole thing. Right now accepting her was something he could not think about. He decide think about it over night. He stood up and cleared his throat, his step mother had her eyes only for him from the second he entered the room, this was just to gain the attention of his father and sister. I want to sleep, good night was all he spoke and walked out. Ruhi stopped him. Adi bhaiyya, I will be sleeping with Ishima and papa today. He wanted to be there with his father and sister that night. Cuddle, laugh and sleep together but he could not. He just nodded his head and walked out to his room.
A complete yet an incomplete family slept to wake up to a new morning, A boy who longed for a family slept alone in his room waiting for such a night in his life.
