Awesome awesome awesome!! 👏👏 I had nearly missed this post in the outrage of the forum!! Am I glad I got to the front page by co-incidence to read this! 😊

I so loved the Stalk and Tree comparison to our leads.. Actually it should hold good to every couple! It's only about coming to realise that..

Realisation!! Such an important feeling! And the most important feeling that's misplaced among these two! They realise things albeit late and rather differently..

He started off on a wrong notion about her but realised later that she wasn't anything like he had perceived her to be. She too judged him wrongly until she realised he puts on a pretense for the world while he's not so bad himself.

She always knew he was not Ram-an.. But from being raavan kumar he did climb uphill to become mere raman'. She also went from kadvi madrasan to meri' jhansi ki rani.. And the transitional journey for both was because they started accepting each other with the flaws/shortcomings etc.

Yes now they are at a juncture where they are unable to see beyond what is being seen outwardly. They are refusing to look beyond themselves and their hurt to understand what is troubling the other..

While Raman is drowning himself in the comfort of alcohol Ishita is oblivious to the entire cause of his torment! In fact she hasn't an iota of idea that SHE could be the reason he's suffering such! And isn't that what a misunderstanding is? When both sides are unaware and when both sides are equally responsible for getting into a situation unintentionally! Raman is reaching a crescendo.. He can't fall any further than he did yesterday.. In his fear of losing her, he insulted her.. In wanting to keep her close, he pushed her away.. In wanting to feel loved, he invoked disgust... Yes she loves him, but should she allow her husband to insult and disrespect her? NO! Yes she is his wife but should that give him the right to force himself on her? NO! There is sanctity in every relationship and that must be maintained by both the partners! She may have made a mistake by lying, but he made a bigger mistake by assuming and an even bigger mistake by not speaking up! But his words and actions yesterday were a BIG blunder.. And now its going to be one hell of a task for him to rise above not just his insecurities and his baggage of the past but also this extreme shame and guilt of his actions of the present to regain the lost respect in his wife's eyes!

He's now fallen below the level of Raavan Kumar.. And to become HER Raman again, he has a difficult road ahead! AS HE MUST!!!

Sorry if I am being too personal but couldnt help ask. If so beware, I may bug you to ask recommends on books - specially philosophy - a field that fascinates me, so yeah fair warning there before you start wondering who did you indulge. 😆

Coming to tonight - since you say you have yet to watch the earlier episodes of the show I am not quite sure if you would know of this but a scene I couldnt help but remember as I read your post has to be mentioned here. This one is before the marriage - the night when Raman won the award as the CEO of the year - interestingly added another feather to his cap much like this night when he was announced as the new ABG head.

Then he came home drunk and saw a woman - his neighbor looking towards his home and stumbled to her. This woman had by some cosmic connection got attached to his daughter by then, the connection so strong that as a woman, a mother who was as of yet not labeled so - she sensed something was wrong with the child. She merely wanted to have a look at the girl to calm herself, instead she met with the father who wasnt even in his senses. He insults her, demeans her and says she is looking for him and his daughter need not be used as an excuse. He slurs he knows what she wants and gets impossibly close to her...she fights him and pushes him back, still he manages to stay on his feet and takes a wad of cash which he forcibly thrusts into her hands as he says - this is what all women want...and then passes out.

The woman is disgusted, angry but yet helps him and later his child too. She saves the girl but is branded as a kidnapper - a move which ends up getting her parents arrested and her engagement broken yet again. Later on this very move would prove her as a woman that is a mother through and through - she would be asked to marry the man who is the father of that child she loves and their journey would begin.

Tonight life came a full circle when he was in much the same place and she was as well. The difference being then he had generalized all women and assumed them to be replicas of his wife whose mind was only focused on greed...that night he offered cash...this night - he offered himself but more than that he sought to claim. Then his mind was too influenced by his past - a past that only seeked gains which made him react the way he did..this night he saw what he provided in the past wholeheartedly was the one thing he held back this time around - and it would cost him dearly. He was reminded not all gains are monetary, not all wealth can be measured in terms of status...not everyone seeks the same things.

He had assumed that night power, status ruled the world but this time around he saw that when it comes to things that matter - things which are real - power and status does zilch, in these matters you have to put yourself out there on a personal level, which he had failed to do this time around, he learned influence doesnt hold a candle here. And that is what he did at last - he spoke about learning the value of relationships and claiming rights, he spoke about becoming a husband, in the trusest form from a namesake one. His frustration, anger and insecurity becoming the reason he mocked his wife. His intentions to bridge the distance that he couldnt permit any longer to stay between them, his way of going about it - absolutely wrong,

To prove himself to his past he rose in stature, to hold onto his present he ironically fell from grace. How they make their way now lost between the darkness of the past and the shadows of the present would make this marriage.

Brilliant Aani 👏👏👏

Yes now they are at a juncture where they are unable to see beyond what is being seen outwardly. They are refusing to look beyond themselves and their hurt to understand what is troubling the other.. Egos are at war, they are yet to realize that pride, lack of trust and indifference has no place in a healthy marriage. When one of them falls, it impacts them both.

Awesome analysis. I loved every word, very beautifully written. Raman is more flawed than Ishita. She is shown as a little Ms. Perfect except her medical condition which is beyond her control. Raman on the other hand has gone through lots of ups and downs before Ishita and now with her, but for some reason they are so preoccupied with their own problems that they are either oblivious or just refuse to see the other person's POV. They are still trying to convince themselves that they married the "tallest tree"😃.

Well said!👏 Both of them are not present in their marriage at the moment. If they did they would face each other and deal with things. Instead, Ishita is turning deaf ears to Raman's harsh comments directed at her, Toshiji cueing her into Raman's crying. Since Mani came into town she's been glued to his side. Most of all, her lies and hiding is what triggered Raman's suspicions.

I still keep coming back to "How does a wife not notice her husband's distress and simply assumes the reasons for his recent moods?" She doesn't know Raman heard her though said in jest to Mani. These two seriously need to sit down and talk instead of yelling at each other. Who would really want their spouse to declare their love when their temper gets the better of them? 😕

The truth is, everyone is going to hurt you. You just got to find the ones worth suffering for.

...this statement just resonates with me...very very apt and absolutely true
