My thoughts on Chapter 9

Oh these gossipers again! And awww Ruhi trying to colour co-ordinate her parents! So cute!

"Subramanian Reddy. I am warning you. You broke ties with Ishita, don't cause any drama's like mother. And tell your wife to shut her mouth if she has brains or refer her to mother to know what happens if you mess with Ishita and her daughter around Ishita's husband. Ishita is my sister and nothing to you. You'll are strangers, so keep it that way." was all that Bala had said to him. <--- This warning from Bala! I love how everyone is defensive of Ishita! It's really sweet how much she's loved!

So Subbu finally finds out that Ishita's husband is THE Raman Kumar Bhalla.

I love IshRaRu family scenes. The scene where Raman is holding Ruhi and has his arm wrapped around Ishita's waist is something I really wanna see in the episodes! And IshRa's cute nok jhoks! ❤️

Will come back and edit later!

Half way done through the first part. Penning down. Got the vms sorted out. Took me two days. I hope they collection is liked. All credits due to the makers. Will post the vms if you like it to wait by the time the chapter is up. I feel horrible. But three burnt fingers on my right hand thanks to a moron who uses the tripod stand meant for filtering for heating. Such morons. And me for being accident prone. :)

There was a guy who hijacked my lab spot and I in a hurry went to pick up a stand from he adjacent table. So it was partly my fault too.

This chapter has been split into parts. They will be updated back to back and today (I'll try my level best to). Please excuse the errors as I haven't read though this in a hurry to get to the next part. Secondly, I read and love every comment. As self centred as this sounds, they really do motivate me to write further. The likes on each comment serve as a marker to me so that I know which comment has been replied to and which hasn't.

There are 11 videos embedded in this part.

Chapter Edited by Dhara (@dsgirl)

"You know, I love you. I will always love you. Subbu, say na. Do you love me?"

"You know i do,"

"You haven't told me."

"Would I marry you, if I didn't love you?" Subbu traced his palm around Ishita's face.

"No. But you need to say it. I won't marry you until you do," Ishita had looked into his eyes.

Would it have taken a different route if Subbu confessed his feelings back then? Would she be his? Could he go back in time and just remind her that he loved her? Subbu looked on as Ishita held hands with the guys he now recognised as Raman Kumar Bhalla. He had played with her hands as Ishita nudged him to pay heed to the choreographers. Raman Bhalla just shrugged.

"Is she sleeping with him? Way to get chores done for your man," a lady in the background had muttered.

"What can you expect from the likes of her?"

"I heard she married a man far older than her, now who can she blame for her situation but herself, if only her parents had stopped her when they first realised about her rendezvous. But they supported her instead,"

"Arrey, Nitya said that her husband was rich, loaded.."

"Old money marries into old money, Mrs. K, that's the way of the world,"

"Too bad he can't please her that she runs around men her age behind his back,"

"Isn't he in the news? That guy she's clinging to?"

"Yes, but then guys like him don't fall for girls like her. Maybe she looks at him as her escape from reality,"

"She's in for another reality check,"

"But that's what living in Delhi does to you, like that socialite Shagun Mehta. Rumor has it that she walked out on her then husband, moved in with another industrialist and then bled her boyfriend dry when he showed the first signs of being unfaithful,"

"Mrs. Kapoor attended her sons promotion party in Delhi and she was proud to state that Shagun's ex-husband cut all ties, refusing to acknowledge her in public, while the court granted Shagun the custody to her son while he remarried days within their divorce and now lives with his second wife and child. Such are high society relationships."

"Who would acknowledge a woman who was unfaithful? No alpha male would." Mr K added his two cents to the conversation.

"And which man marries days into his divorce. No care for social sympathy."

"Why would they need social sympathy for? The society breathes on whatever breadcrumbs they fling onto them."

"Speaking of socialites, Mihika is marrying into such a family. Her soon to be sister-in-law is a media favourite. Now you have to ask her who she is."

"Mihika, that girl has got connections. My son who studies in in Delhi claimed that she and her fiance got into this huge scandal that graced the news for five seconds before it was buried by some powerful man. Must be her fiance. Raman Kumar Bhalla's right hand man. Almost family. If media is to be believed."

"No wonder RKB is here, and look at that Ishita fling herself at him. Subbu is so lucky to have escaped her grasp."

"Don't say anything about her on front of him, he transforms into a hell hound. She must mean something to him. That vixen. And that brat." Bala's mother added her two bits and shut up as soon as she spotted Bala from the corner of her eye. Mentally cursing herself.

"Must be one hell of a mistress."

Subbu sipped onto his coke as he watched Ishita laugh to something Mr. Bhalla said.He was her affair? Raman Bhalla? Why was he here? Did he come here to meet Mihir Mehta's to be in-laws? But why was Ishita's daughter calling him Papa or better yet was it Raman Bhalla's daughter who was calling Ishita mama. Now that he looked at it Ruhi was introduced to him as Ruhanika Bhalla. What was the bloody deal. Why did nothing make sense to him anymore?

"Jeeju, Holi ka sequel." he heard Mihika scream as her fiance muttered something that earned him a not so playful whack from her.

Jeeju? That was his term. He was always Jeeju or Subbu to Mihika. That was his title, the title he had rightfully earned at the age of 12. And then temporarily lost at the age of 27. And now at 35, he wanted it back. He needed it back. It was his sanity. His only hope at getting his love back.

Why was Ishita with this man? Was he, Subramanian Reddy, responsible for Ishita's actions. Were his actions reactants to this product of a so called public affair? Why was Ishita clinging to a man that would never accept her when she herself was a married woman? He would free her. Free her from the grasp of Raman Kumar Bhalla and her old sadistic husband. He would prove it that he didn't force Ishita into her circumstances.

Subbu watched on as Raman Bhalla laughed, his dimple showing - he was the guy from Ishita's picture. He had placed Ishita's hand on his "heart" as Ishita and him practiced a dance move. Their proximity was too close for Subbu's liking.

Subbu gulped his shot of coke in one go as the music started playing.

"Is there anything wrong, son-in-law," his mother-in-law law questioned him out of worry.

"Nothing, just thirsty, extremely"

"I know, people will start pointing fingers at you too due to that wench and her actions."

"Don't call her a wench."

Subbu stood up to walk away only to be stopped short by the song playing. "Gandi Baat" started playing. Everyone moved away to either incorporate themselves in the song or make room for the dancers. People started whistling and screaming as Ishita's daughter was carried by Bala. Ishita's parents had looked at Raman and Ishita in awe while his own pregnant sister-in-law wold whistled. Raman and Ishita covered the whole room. Raman Kumar Bhalla - the Bollywood hero, Subbu scoffed.

"He's so hot."

"Checked shirt, buttons open. White pants. Gelled hair. Aviators. I'm dead."

"Isn't that Ishita, why is she onstage and what is she wearing? Trust her, the walking talking scandal."

"The proximity."

"They are totally sleeping together. This isn't a cordial partnership."

"He dances so well."

"I can't believe I'm saying this, but they look so good together."

Ishita looked happy. And for once nothing else mattered to Subbu. For that mini second he found himself lost in her smile. Did the nature of her relationship with this man really matter? She was happy. If only this man cared enough to free her. Subbu knew he wouldn't and that was his only salvation, men like Raman Kumar Bhalla didn't care enough. If this man could ditch his first wife to marry his second days into his split (as the rumors claimed) and then cheat on the second with a married woman he met at a wedding - how would he even care for Ishita? A simple woman like Ishita. A woman who never expected much from life. Ishita Iyer was a mere fling to Raman Bhalla, Subramanian Reddy concluded.

"Papa," Ishita's daughter pushed past him as she ran towards Raman Kumar Bhalla.

Papa? Papa! Ishita's daughter had just called Raman Kumar Bhalla 'Papa' and the man had just burst into a huge grin along with Ishita who has bent forward and scooped the kid, Ruhi, into her arms. Raman had grinned, as Ishita had kissed Ruhi all over her face, tickling her at the same time.

"Meri bhi eklauti beti hai. Ishita be a nice wife and pass her over." Raman Bhalla had exclaimed in-between laughs as Ishita playfully dodged him. Ishita had laughed as she dodged the man who had just called her his wife.

Raman Bhalla had attempted trapping Ishita whilst failing miserably at it, Ruhi giggling as her mother spun her around in an attempt to escape Raman Bhalla's arms. Mr. Bhalla had finally held Ishita in a back hug as he puckered for a kiss, Ruhi had gently paced a peck on his lips. Ishita had laughed inwardly to that gesture as Raman Bhalla grinned at his daughter.

That shouldn't have been Raman Bhalla. That should have been him. That should've been Subbu. That should've been me and not some top notch business tycoon who almost ruled the nation. That should have been Subbu with the girl he grew up loving.

As if on cue the DJ malfunctioned and the few seconds of song that played did nothing but send Subbu into a trance as he relived the memories of the past.

She been my queen

Since we were sixteen

We want the same things,

We dream the same dreams,

Alright (alright)

I got it all

'cause she is the one

Her mom calls me 'love',

Her dad calls me 'son',

Alright (alright)

I know, I know, I know for sure

[2x]

Everybody wanna steal my girl

Everybody wanna take her heart away

Couple billion in the whole wide world

Find another one 'cause she belongs to me

Na na na na na na (oh, yeah)

Na na na na na na (alright)

Na na na na na na

Na na

She belongs to me

Kisses like cream,

Her walk is so mean

And every jaw drop

When she's in those jeans,

Alright (alright)

I don't exist

If I don't have her

The sun doesn't shine,

The world doesn't turn,

Alright (alright)

But I know, I know, I know for sure

[2x]

Everybody wanna steal my girl

Everybody wanna take her heart away

Couple billion in the whole wide world

Find another one 'cause she belongs to me

It had been the last day of school before Summer vacations, Ishita had turned eighteen months ago and being eighteen had done nothing to her. She was still the same. There were no significant changes that had revealed themselves the minute she realised she had been a legal adult. He remembered the time he turned eighteen and every birthday that followed after that. His friends had showed him with parties. Drugs, alcohol, girls, cash - you name it. And the irony was that he wanted none.

"You're dating an underage girl, dude. Does she even kiss you? Have fun for a night, she'll never know,"

If asked, Subbu would admit that he'd been tempted. He was a hot blooded teenager the first time and young man the next and he needed a source to release his frustration. And the fact that he was bound in a serious relationship for the past few years scared. While his colleagues boasted about their escapades and wolf whistled at random girls, Subbu found himself planning stuff for his girl. At twenty - four, while his friends booked hotel rooms for their girlfriends, Subbu found himself bugging his elder brother to convince Vandita to accompany them on double dates so that Subbu could have comfortable late night dates with his girlfriend.

He had been twenty two when a random girl at college had pulled him into a lip lock. He had freaked over telling Ishita about what happened. Far too worried about her reaction he had finally concluded that he would confess to her before she misunderstood. And confess he did. They had gone paint balling that evening and Subbu had confessed by the end of the session. Ishita had smiled at him. She had come closer as she gently pecked him. She had placed a finger right over his heart as he whispered, "this is reset, the other one doesn't even matter," and with a smile she had walked away.

As far as temptations went he didn't need to fall to them, not because he would risk it but because Ishita was worth the wait. She was worth being his first, no matter how long it would take them. They had along way to go.

It had been the last school day before summer vacations when he decided to pick Ishita up from her campus.

"Ishita, is that your boyfriend?" her friends had gushed.

"Maybe," Ishita had blushed as she walked over to him.

"Maybe," he had replied, quirking an eyebrow.

"Maybe," she had repeated.

"Why don't we make it official then, Miss Iyer,"

"If that's a proposal, I expect a better one Subbu,"

"And,"

"Don't make it flashy. I will kill you in public and then die of embarrassment. You know the drill,"

"Your wish is my command," he had mocked a salute as he handed her a helmet.

"I have a lot of wishes to go, Subbu, a lot of wishes for us," she had whispered as they sped away into the sunset.

Where did our wishes go, Ishita?

He had once again looked over to Ishita as she pouted and then turned away from Raman Bhalla and her daughter.

"Kya yaar Madrasan, Ruhi ne ek baar meri side jo li tum toh jal hi gayi. Ruhi, mein toh kehta hoon, tum mere hi team mein reh lo. Ishima ki team."

"Yes, Mamma. Papa aapse bahut pyaar karte hai. See, if you weren't there I wouldn't be there and phir hamesha Raavan Kumar rehte. And agar papa Raavan Kumar rehte toh Mama Papa se kaise milti and then main tumare pass kaise aati. And then papa ke love ko refill karna hota hai. Maine toh kiya. Mama ne nahi kiya." Ishita's daughter had rambled as she gave her father a confused expression begging him for help.

Subbu found himself chucking at Ruhi's statement. She was truly Ishita's daughter. A replica of what Ishita was during her childhood.

"How can the guy be so hot? And that lady, damn totally hot. Hotness everywhere, it isn't even fair. No wonder their daughter is such a looker. Such great genes. She'll be heartbreaks, I tell you." Nalini's cousins perched themselves besides Subbu.

"Oh. My. Gosh. That was totally adorable. Did they just kiss her at the same time. My ovaries. I want a husband and kid like that."

"They're so adorable."

"I bet it's a love marriage."

"Arranged."

"Love. Dude, do you even see Raman Bhalla marrying Ishita Iyer through an arranged marriage."

"Well, old money marries into old money. Wouldn't be shocking."

"They almost eloped. Didn't you hear that legal guy who paid a visit on Paati's birthday."

"Isn't possible. Ishita was in a relationship with a guy for something around years or so. Do you ever pay attention to surroundings?"

"It's an intercultural marriage. No Iyer readily accepts a Punjabi guy's marriage proposal for their daughter."

"Twelve years of a relationship. Think."

"So? He's Raman Bhalla. Who cares. They almost eloped, argued at the court and then registered their marriage days later along with their families."

"Let's bet,"

"Sure, let's bet."

Subbu looked over to Ishita who walked along side Raman Bhalla who in turn held Ruhi. They seemed to be arguing over something. Raman had a serious look going on while Ishita just grinned at him as she splashed water from her sipper onto him as their daughter looked back and forth, clearly confused. Subbu noticed Ishita's smile falter for a moment as Raman gave what seemed to be a soulful look and within seconds Ishita had her grin on.

"Isn't she his second wife? The rumored home wrecker."

"You think? The lady's too innocent and he's totally into her. And don't spread rumors. Not when it comes to RKB's family. Everybody knows that he's super possessive. He banned the whole media to protect his daughter's privacy."

"And he also organised the nations event to show support to single mothers and the girl child."

"And his wife is going to be there. I'm dying to have a glimpse of her"

"She's right there."

Subbu shook his head to block away the conversations he was unknowingly eavesdropping on. He didn't want to hear any of this but the fact remained that he stood rooted to his spot, unable to move even if he wanted to.

He watched as Raman Bhalla kissed his daughter - chucking at her reaction each time. And then pecked Ishita. The look on Ishita's face was unfathomable. Maybe Subbu wasn't meant to known such depth - such emotions. Ishita held Ruhi's hands, smiling as she had the conversation that followed:

"I have a team of people waiting to dress me up."

"Interview? Oh. You love them. All those girls flinging themselves at you."

"Sure. I have one you at home. And that's enough. Can't really have more people poking and prodding at my body."

"Why Mr. Bhalla, your body is all mine, remember."

Raman Bhalla had just chuckled at Ishita's statement. Winking at her had walked away suddenly surrounded by a team of assistants, security and other people who worked for him.

"Papa," Ruhi screamed after him as she passed him a flying kiss which he had turned and grabbed and placed into his heart.

"Chalo. Let's shower and get get changed." Ishita had turned towards Ruhi as Ruhi peeped into the bags handed over by her father.

As Ishita walked away and towards her room Subbu didn't know what he had felt. Maybe it was the wink that Raman sent Ishita or the flying kisses to his wife and daughter. But with every gesture he had felt himself die a little. All wasn't lost, there was hope. With that he walked away, towards the rest of his clan.

=_=_=_=_

Vishwanathan looked on as his brother-in-law law bid goodbye to Ishita. A part of him was glad that Ishita had found the perfect life partner while another part of him wanted to catch Raman Bhalla by the collar - important man or not - and threaten him never to hurt Ishita ever. Nitya placed an arm around Vishwa's shoulder quirking an eyebrow asking him what's cooking in that mind of his. He shook his head in response.

"Peri appa, how did Ishita meet Raman?" he found himself asking his uncle.

"They just found each other. And then your Peri Amma went hunting for the lad she thought Ishita was 'meeting behind our backs'. He turned out to be our neighbour and well, they had this thing going on."

Nitya found this extremely romantic much to the disdain of Bala who urged her to spend a day with the two of them. All your fan girling will fly out of the window, he had said.

"Uncle, Ruhi ke papa pit gaye?"

Heads turned towards the tiny sincere voice that echoed through the room. Shravan and little Tamanna, worried at their best as she held what looked like a laptop.

"Shravu. Raman kyu pitenge?" Vandita had asked her son, trying her level best to control her laughter.

"Kya? Ishita us ladke to pitwati bhi hai?"

"Pehle bin byah ka rishta and phir this. Kya ho raha hai?"

"Drama, hai drama. Sab drama." Subbu's mother had fumed.

"Kya drama?"

"In dono pe film ban jati."

The word film struck a chord with Shravan as he was hit with a sudden brainwave.

"Tammy. Tu badi smart hai." Tamanna had muttered as she locked gazes with Shravan. Shravan had taken the cue and with a conspicuous nod they had walked over to Vishwanathan.

"Apun ke paas philum bhi hai na. Papa, Chitti ka anniversary ka gift. Or was it Ruhi's birthday ka gift." Shravan shot, his chest puffed with pride, a moment away to resembling a lovebird.

"Ruhi ke elves ka ek aur video?" Nitya inquired quite enthusiastic about this new video. Personally, she loved Raman and Ishita as a couple. They were plain adorable.

"Video nahi, poora collection hai. And surprising neither of them had any complaints with all the snooping. Raman even thanked Ishita for influencing everyone with what he calls "Jagga Jasoos" much to her mortification. Ruhi had squealed and we had similar reactions as you will now."

"Play it. No first get snacks. My favourite couple. And I contributed to this. The bathroom shots were mine. I'll go get food. Wait for me." Madhavi rushed to the kitchen.

Nalini looked over to her husband, Subbu, who took a seat besides his mother. What now?

"And everyone, this is due to my counselling. I should get more credit." Bala grinned.

"Bhai is killing me, what kind of a family am I marrying into. I should take bhai's suggestion and run away." Mihir had mumbled.

"Who's stopping you? Quoting your bhai, "One thing I like about these Tamil rituals - they atleast give the groom a chance to run away." Mihika smiled.

"You're turning into a typical jeeju ki saali." Mihir had laughed.

"He's the only jeeju I don't have to share with another "Saali", and you worship him either ways, why didn't you leave with him?"

"Because I'm tasked with babysitting your Akka."

"Akka fell sick once and these two treat it like it's a terminal disease - Raman and Ruhi. I demand a daughter like her."

"We have one Ruhi. That's enough. Do you really want a hyperactive tot like you? Why don't we try for a sweet si baby like your Akka. Calm and demure."

"You mean like you? Hello. I'm better."

"We can always have a son like me,"

"And have him bullied, no thank you, Mihir,"

"Then let's settle for a demure daughter like me with an elder brother like you,"

"Sure, baby." Mihika placed a peck on Mihir's cheek as they took their seat on the love seat.

"Uncle connect," Tamanna tried on her best adorable look.

"Tammy. Let's sit." Shravan dragged Tamanna away.

Nitya seated herself between them handing them both snacks and drinks.

The ladies had gathered around with their seats, too eager to let go of any potential fodder to the gossip mill and also out of their own curiosity. It was Ishita. Ishita Iyer, the girl who got away.

Bala seated besides Vandu. Vishwa held Madhavi's hands. Paati was seated on her rocking chair. Ishita's Chitti and her husband had taken their seats besides Madhavi.

The rest of the family and audience had found a place somewhere in the room. The snacks arrived. The drinks were served and everyone got real comfortable.

"Okay, people, we're rolling," Bala had announced.

An unknown older couple dressed in heavy regal ethnic clothes graced the screen. Senior Mr. and Mrs. Bhalla smiled at the screen. A soft tune playing in the background served as their background.

Senior Mrs Bhalla: I confess, the first time I met Ishita. I didn't like her at all.

Senior Mr Bhalla: Why are you badmouthing my daughter-in-law in a family home video?

Senior Mrs Bhalla: Let me talk, will you? She was too naive. Yet too fierce. If my son was a tiger, she was lioness. She was too loving, and my son too heartless. If she yearned to make people smile, my son would be the first one to bring tears to their eyes - including hers. If she brought forth opportunities, he got rid of all of them. And like kids from the first the time they met they got into this wierd game of putting each other down. Of hurting each other, of bringing forth each other's pasts. If he hurt her once, she hurt him twice. They had no love between and like every other I disliked the girl who brought pain back into my sons life, never knowing that she'd the one to rid him of all his pain. So when my husband saw the potential, I opposed every decision he made. How could a mother let her son walk into a life time of disdain?

The screen then moved to another older couple, the older woman glaring at the screen. They fixed their expressions.

Mrs Iyer: There she goes rambling on how great her son is and how evil my daughter is. Evil punjaban. As if I wanted to my daughter to marry your good for nothing son, that akdu. All he ever does is threaten and raise his voice at people. No discipline. And let my daughter marry into your loud Punjabi chicken eating family. Murugan. Murugan. If it wasn't for your son chasing my daughter, all those late night meetings, staying together till dawn and then those not-so-secret goodbye's my daughter gave him. If it wasn't for Ishita..

Senior Mrs. Bhalla: If I was against my husband mutual decision with Mr. Iyer here to get our kids to tie the the knot, you can imagine my state when my son enforced his decision of marrying Ishita onto us.

Mrs Iyer: There she goes again.

Senior Mrs. Bhalla: If that wasn't frustrating enough, there was the fact that our soon to be in-laws wanted a pure Tamil and all that Raman and Mr. Bhalla wanted was Ishita. I found myself complying.

Mrs Iyer: You didn't comply. You came drunk to all the ceremonies. And not to mention the stunts you pulled.

Senior Mrs Bhalla: And by the days that followed I found myself falling for my daughter-in-law. Ruhi came along soon later and the woman who found pleasure in arguing with my son transformed into a beautiful mama bear. If I scoffed at all those ladies who claimed to have found a daughter in their daughter-in-law, I found a daughter in my. A daughter who knew where she stood. A dutiful wife. A lover to my son. An elder sibling to my children. A perfect bahu to my husband. An amazing mother to Ruhi. And so much more. Ishita is a woman who stands up for herself and what she believes in without fear.

Mrs. Iyer: And Raman, her soulmate. How could a man this successful be bound to his roots? The first time I met Raman, I had peeped into my daughter staying out all night and then waving off a random stranger the next morning. For the first time in years, I felt that my daughter was moving on. It didn't matter how long it lasted or how short it was. Or who the guy was or his background. Desperate as it may sound, all that mattered was that my daughter was happy. In their fights, I saw hope. Hope of my daughter finding happiness, and she did. All thanks to him - her saviour. He hadn't bothered about her past. Never questioned her actions. He didn't care about the families or the difference or the cultural clash. All he asked was for her. When Vishwanathan consented their bond, truth be told I was scared. Scared of letting my daughter go off with another man when the one who vowed to protect her since she was barely eight let go without a second glance. And then, maybe it was the better or the worse I couldn't do anything about. They wouldn't care about my opinion. If two people can reach the courts without any preparation just because their families clashed with the traditional ceremonies when it meant nothing to them, what were we to stop them? And the thought we didn't know.

Mr Iyer: They argue more than the usual couple. Express their love more than any couple. They clash. Fall into each other. And at the end of the day they are always together. They have their differences. Their share of misunderstandings. They still unknowingly hurt each other. And then heal each other. Their love lies in the arguments because if there is no Raman, there is no Ishita. And no Jhansi ki Rani without her Raavan Kumar.

A young girl in her mid twenties intend the stage and wraps an arm around Mr and Mrs Iyer.

Mihika: And how could we forget Ruhi. Ruhanika Raman Kumar Bhalla. Ishita and Raman's little whittle bundle of joy. Akka's bundle of joy and Jiju's bundle of joy. The adorable five, sorry as she proudly claims so unlike kids her age, the adorable four and half year old cupid who makes sure her parents are in talking terms twenty four seven. And to her parents who indulge in her Emma-ness. Honestly speaking, I think Ruhi was the best thing that ever happened to Akka. If it wasn't Jeeju as it is. But he have her Ruhi and well, everyone loves the kid more than the father. Universal rule. It wasn't Jeeju who was touched the moment Ruhi uttered the words first Maa for the first time, it wasn't just Ishita who cried tears of joy and disbelief. For a woman who was told she wasn't meant to be a mother - Ruhi was, is and will always be Akka and Jeeju's miracle child. If Jeeju loved burning his midnight oil and aiming for the next universe if not the stars I'm pretty sure he loves his wife and daughter more. If it was Ishita who brought love back into his life, it was Ruhi who taught Jeeju to express his life. As Ruhi rambles, "if it wasn't for Mama there wouldn't be any Ruhi and if there wasn't any Ruhi there would be no papa. There would be a Raavan Kumar growling in a corner, hating the world and everything it brought" such wise words from our little Dadi Amma, as she is rightly named.

Various faces then graced the screen, with their own sweet messages:

Bala: Ishita, I remember you asking me if marriage was really meant for you. That if marrying a man like Raman would bring you happiness. I have known you for over two decades and I can proudly say that this is the happiest you have ever been. Your smile finally reaches your eyes. Your eyes glisten with love and hope. You find meaning in absolutely nothing. You're happy without a reason. You look forward to each and every day. You love the life you live. And your Raavan Kumar is yours. Along with your daughter. You have a family. A small family that came in a much larger package. Fairy tales do come true and you, my dear saali are living yours.

Vandita: I'm trying my best not to cry here. Which moron cries during a video shoot for her baby sister's anniversary video. Another year down. May You have many more. And whenever you need to give Raman a whack at the back of the head, feel free to contact your elder sister. Line pe la dungi. And he won't ever cheat on you. You know him better, so no more silly misunderstandings. I don't know if anyone has told you this but being a parent of a kid herself and with another on the way let me say this - take a bow. You, my little sister, are doing an amazing job.

Rinky: To the awesomest sister-in-law law ever. Thank you. I have no words for you in all honesty.

Romi: Bhabhi. I love you. Thanks for returning my Chuhi to me. Do you even know how difficult it was to sneak her out. Thanks for being Bhabhi. For being with someone like bhai. For being my hero, guide, mother figure, elder sister, best friend, colleague, confidante and so much more all rolled into one. I love you. You are my guiding light and before bhai whacks me for this... Do let him know that as usual it is always Romi and Ishita Bhabhi against him. Eklauti bhabhi ho yaar.

Mihir: My sister. My best friend's wife. My bhabhi. My girlfriend's elder sister. Ruhi's mom. You have so many roles rolled into one. And to bhai, for another year with your Madrasan. Don't the both of y'all manage to surprise everyone - everyone.

Ruhi fumed into the camera.

Ruhi: Why is everyone so senti? I'm telling you. Mama is going to cry buckets and Papa is not going to like this one bit. And I won't get to cuddle with them. And because Ruhanika is awesome. And she has her little army of... Romi chachu what's the word? Yes, elves. Ad my own master partner in crime. Ruhi presents along with her Romi chachu.

Romi: That's Romi along with his Ruhi Chuhi.. We present to you this. Because everyone loves this couple from the day they first met. Like this year and every other year to come from now on - Iss Saal Ki Kahaani

Romi had Ruhi seated on his shoulder as she made faces into the camera.

Romi: Because everyone is a full blown fan of Bhai, Bhabhi and their romance.

Ruhi: Because this is how Mama and Papa met. And this is what started it all.

Senior Mrs Bhalla: Because this is the journey till now. To each milestone that you'll complete. The hurdles you'll face and come victorious together, every time.

Mrs Iyer: Because as creepy as it is, I know I'm a fan of you'll - your romance. Raman, the son I never had. Ishita, my baby girl. Ruhi: The grandchild that makes life worth living for.

Bala: I should know this the best. The fights you'll have. The make up. The silly arguments, the laughter, the nok jokes and the happiness.

Pinky and Ruhi: Because Ruhanika loves her parents the most.

Ruhi: The Best parents in the whole wide world. I love you Papa and Ishima!

Mihika and Mihir: Because as stoic as Bhai is and as dutiful as Bhabhi is the fact remains that the both of them are closet romantics.

Vandita: Because as much as the both of you'll will hate me for this. Together, the both of you'll are plain adorable.

Simmi: Because Bhai, you, along with Ishita set the dance floor on fire.

Mr. Iyer and Senior Mr. Bhalla: Because supporting your decision to get married is the best thing we have ever done. If you'll bring the worst out of each other, you'll also bring out the best in each other. You'll complete each other. If marriages are made purely out of compromise, love, faith and trust - here is a successful marriage without the compromise but unconditional love, trust, faith and so much more. Happy Anniversary, my children. May you'll have many more. May the heavens shine their grace on you, your love increase by folds and no harm ever come your way. May you'll forever be bound in the bond you'll share today. To three souls that complete each other. We love you'll. And as family we always stand by you'll. Family.

And because we love this one...

Okay now I love you!
I loved how you give each scene a 360 degree angle, covering each perspective. How you incorporated subbus's view with ishita and raman's previous scene was commendable and I loved reading it again.

You know I have this thing for witty dialogue and ishita and subus's proposal bit, I enjoyed the sweet and short ones.

I almost felt for subbu, but perhaps I was too lost in ishirta and Raman's perfect world that i didn't care how that guy sulked. Seriously, kiara you have a way with words and the vision to imagine such scenes and to pen it to perfection.

P. S As soon as I started reading, I was unknowingly waiting for the moment which never arrived. Where was the darn kiss?!😡
