CHAPTER 4b

Being A father, Becoming a father, Daddy of my baby, Daddy for my baby...

What was she saying..He took his suite off from his hyperventilating body. He is feeling like sweating. Its very hard for his brain to process the conversation with Ishita which happened this morning. He was fiddling with his tie to take it off when he listened the knock at the door of his cabin. "Come in!" he said now playing with the first button of his white shirt.

Lyra came into the cabin only to find his Boss looking extremely handsome just in his white shirt not looking like professional not behaving like a professional .He is always a well mannered, well behaved, well dressed man at work place. It's rare to find him like this.

"Sir.. Miss.Arora is here.She wants to congratulate you personally about the deal you've signed with their company..Can I send her in?" she said.

"I think you're not fine now.Shall I say her you're not free now." She said.

"Send her in!" he sternly said wiping his fore head with his palm before standing up from his chair and heading towards the window side and glancing the out side world .

"CONGRATULATIONS "

Miss.Arora said shaking his hand smoothly.Her voice is deep which is conveying her intentions are more than her words.

"THANK YOU"

His voice is warm, possibly cool, but it's difficult to tell from his impassive expression. He looks mildly interested, but above all, polite.

"Would you like to sit?" He waves her towards couch.But she didn't respond. She moved close to him not to his surprise.She put her hand on his shoulder looking into his brown eyes which are completely passive now.
Her eyes are scanning his face and stopped on his lips.Now he know what she is expecting him to do.

He closed his lips with hers only to move back immediately.That wasn't a kiss.Not even a nano second his lips stayed on hers.She looked into his eyes confused.She had no idea why he moved back.

"I'm sorry, can you please leave me alone" He said immediately turning back not facing her.And he felt her leaving the place in despair.

This situation is not new to him.He has faced many a times.That's a part of his life style.But the way he behaved in this situation is new to him.He never moved back like this.He used to kiss but in a control manner just for 2 minutes not more not less.He doesn't know what exactly happened to him,but what made him stop was the doubt of not knowing why he is kissing.The doubt which he never got before.
He doesn't like her. In fact He didn't know her that much about her to decide weather he likes her or not.His brain is all messed up now.

He remembered Ruhi words when he was about to kiss Ruhi in the car that he can't kiss her because he doesn't like her, when they went to jogging. He has to like some one to kiss?..If a kiss is not out of love.. at least it has to be out of like?!


"Its hundred sir.. " He suddenly came out from his thoughts listening Lyra's voice.She came into his cabin not even knocking the door.She is in excitement to tell about Its hundred.


"What hundred?"

"She...Miss.Arora... I mean no of persons you kissed till now.." She said grinning.

"What the heck? Are you counting?" He looked at her unbelievable.

"I'm sorry..It was hundred so ..I mean the count is since I was joining.. since last two years" She stammered.

"Are you spying on me.." He looked at her frustrated.

"Wait sir.. I was wrong.. you haven't kissed her right? Its still 99"

"How do you know?I haven't kissed her"He was surprised.

"You always wipes your lips with your hand after kissing but you're not doing that now" she said smiling with happiness.

This girl before him knows a lot about him.

"Can you please stop the nonsense and leave me now..." He said.

"Why don't you kiss me?" He listened her saying all the sudden.

What shit is this now!. This is some thing he didn't expect from her.

"I'm sorry sir,I really wanted to ask this.. It's just two more weeks my contract is going to end,I've to leave this job and I know, you"ll not extend this.She was looking at him nervously.She is bold but not the much to ask him this.to ask why don't you kiss me.

*Two minutes of silence which is much needed for Raman to answer her*

"You're such a silly girl" Raman forced a smile on his face saying this."I'm not extending your contract doesn't mean I don't like you.Its because you can do better things than this.You're very talented Lyra.I can't be selfish and keep you as my PA forever"He replied.

"Not about my job.I've asked you some other thing"her voice is small yet sharp,she is not looking at him now.

He is bundle of nerves.Not at all prepared for this conversation.What kind of conversation this anyway?! why don't you kiss me? Like seriously.

"Why are you being so Unprofessional.What are we even talking about in office time" he suddenly remembers this is office! Great!!!. Most Professional CEO he is.

"Sir, It's lunch time" Lyra replied.Well, she is professional too.Most Professional PA she is.She is only asking him while lunch break why don't you kiss me?!

What now RB? Face it!

He stood up from his chair and faced her.Maintained some distance.He looked at her intently.He swallowed and took a deep breath before starting what he wanted to say.What he could say.What he should say.


"I can't kiss you because I know that you love me, All those girls whomever you've counted don't love me. It's easy to me to kiss them because a kiss is a just kiss to them but its not to you,If I do that."He moved a step forward saying this.
"You're a one good girl but unfortunately doing this mistake of loving me"She looked at him,unbelievable.She used to cover all her emotions faking that she is just flirting.But he know that she is loving him all this time?!.

"Please stop this now. Stop loving me,I don't deserve this"He said taking her both hands in his making her look at him still maintaining some distance from her. This gesture of him made her extremely surprised.She know he is very caring and generous person but she didn't know that this much of him.He doesn't need to give this explanation but he is giving.

The way that he is rejecting her love is giving her one other reason to love him. Now how can she stop loving him.She blinked back her tears even before they welled up in her eyes.

She never expected him to love her back neither she wanted to confess about her feelings because she know,she is just his PA. but now the reason he is giving to her is that he can't love but not because she is just a PA.


"You have to move on.You deserve all the best things in the world" she listened him saying.

"But you are the best right?" she replied instantly.

"No I'm not,definitely not in the thing Love.I don't know how to love."He said with all the confidence in the world that he can't love.

He can't love her? or he can't love anyone?

She didn't respond.She didn't get what he is saying yet.

"You have to believe me If I say, I can't love...There was a time that I've tried a lot to love a person but never wasn't able to do that.I did the mistake of trying to love even after knowing I can't do that.I'm not going to repeat that again." Now his expressions are unreadable.

"Its about Shagun ma'am right?"

"Is there anything that you don't know about me" He said leaving her hands and moving back.

"Not Just me.Everyone knows that.She was the only person in your life about whom everyone knows,even though you were linked up with so many girls.She is the luckiest girl!"

"No she is not.She is not the lucky girl.She is unlucky girl.I don't want you to become one more unlucky girl" His voice is choked with the emotions. He ran his fingers through his hair.

Lyra know that she can't continue this now.She can't see him like that.


"My lips remember your kiss which never happened
My heart remembers your compassion which just happened"
She said,she sang it actually that too all of sudden.

"What?" he said.He didn't get it.Was that any tongue twister? He wondered.

"Nothing sir, they are the lines that I have written years back when I have had this dream to become a singer.I think those lines fits in this situation so..."she said smiling. Raman looked at her few seconds, Lyra had a dream of becoming a singer?and She... she just sang something which he didn't understand ? He knows her as a very intelligent,beautiful talented girl good at heart but not so good at showcasing her good heart.Very few can understand how good she is and one of those very few is him.

"Why are you becoming someone I can't understand Ms.Lyra.I'm already dealing with two at my home,It's more than enough to me" he scoffed shaking his head.Its unbelievable.Suddenly people around him became puzzles floating in the air.How perfectly ALRIGHT his life used to be.

He is missing a thing here,People are always puzzles.It's his foolishness till now thinking that he can understand any one.

"Do You need anything.. I mean for your next career plans.."

"No,But I want some thing before I leave" She said.He nodded trying to guess what she is going to ask.

"You said that you can't kiss me because I'm loving you but you haven't said that you can't hug me.. so can you?"

Oh, Not again! Raman looked at her.

She winked,gesturing that she was just kidding.

He sighs and shakes his head at her, amused, but exasperated too.He looked his side way, smiling,some what blushing too biting his lower lip to suppress his smile .

"Oh my Gosh,Sir you are smiling..I haven't seen your smile since four days..four long days"

"You're counting this too"

"2 more weeks, may be this counting of me will ends.." she said smiling.But he can sense the pain in her smile.


"You're fine right"He asked concern evident in his voice.

"I'm not.But I'll be very soon.Thank You so much sir.This day will be unforgettable to me"she said

"I'm sorry to inform you sir.. this Saturday evening there was a clients party.. you've to attend" she immediately changed the topic.

Saturday? suddenly he remember something.

"I'm not attending that Lyra I want to visit your home Saturday night."

"Oh my God Sir.. that's awesome.. but my mom will be at home.. Why don't we choose other place?"

"I'm coming to meet your mom!"

She looked at him puzzled.

"To learn how to make Poori"

"Poori?"

"I've to teach to Ishita on Sunday" He hitted himself mentally for saying to Ishita that he will teach her but he doesn't know why is he being very exited about this at the same time. Ishita hasn't asked him about that again then why is he being very exited about that,Well he is acting you know!?.. He is just moving close so that he can know something.. this reason is just perfect to lie himself.The best excuse it is.

"Its not any Rocket Science sir?Its just mix the floor,salt and water..."Lyra said.

"I too know the process.. But I've to practice once.."

Yes! He has to practice because he is Mr.Perfect.He has to cook the perfect Poori's.

The time when he reached home he found it empty exactly like his brain. He went to his room expecting Ruhi's presence. Most of the time she plays in his room.Its her favorite place in the house for no reason at all.He felt to see her once so he headed to Ruhi's room to find her on bed completely tucked in blanket.He sat on the bed beside her and touched the blanket.

"Booo..."

He suddenly listened the sound and stood up from the bed scared.Ruhi is gigging looking at him coming out from blanket around her and trying to sit.

She scared him.He doesn't know why he didn't get anger on her this time.He again sat on the bed."So you weren't sleeping?" He asked her dragging her towards him as if she is pillow or something and she didn't mind about that to his surprise"

"No,I wasn't sleeping" she replied.

"What were you doing in that blanket alone?"

"I'm telling story" she said blinking her eyes and biting her lips.

"To whom?" He wondered and looked around.

"To me" she said matter of fact.Yes! she tells stories to herself when she is alone.When there is no one to tell a story to her.

"I love stories a lot.So I'm telling story to me"

"Can you tell me that" He asked her.She is so much that he still has to know.Its true,She is special,She is unique.

"There was a ugly parrot and beautiful crow,They are enemies.Some thing happened. They became friends.The end."her story is just a single line.Don't laugh at her she will hurt...

"What exactly that some thing?" He asked suppressing the urge to laugh about her single line story.

"I don't know.I will think tomorrow and tell you okay? Now I'm getting sleep" she said and closed her eyes leaning on him still in sitting position.He picked her up adjusted the bed sheet properly and made her sleep.He turned back only to see Ishita.When did she came in?He had no Idea.

"Thank You" Ishita said.He didn't reply her anything.

He was about to leave the room when He heard her saying.
"Shagun di also used to do the same thing for me."

He stood stand still and turned back.This is the first time there was something about Shagun Ishita is talking to him. What he doesn't know is Ishita intentionally took up the opportunity to talk about Shagun.

"Mom and Dad used to be always busy with their work.. and I used to feel alone when I was kid.Shagun Di used to made me sleep just like you did now to Ruhi.Shagun di herself was a kid at that time still she used to pamper me as if she is mom to me"Ishita completed her sentence.

He felt himself gripping his fist tight.Even after all these years the memory of Shagun evoked a pain in him that is as sharp as ever.No one had ever touched him as she had...

He looked at Ishita who is now telling something about Shagun which he already know.Ishita is talking and smiling in between as if it is some fairy tale which has some happy ending when the truth is not.

He is barely thinking...barely breathing.. Ha can't listen any more but she is not stopping any where.He felt loosing the grip on himself.

Everything in his mind,body and soul told him that he should hold her.
He immediately pulled her in a hug which was taken by her as a surprise.It is too sudden for her to react anything.She is numb and the only thing that she can feel at the moment was him.
She froze as she felt his firm body against hers.His hands circled around her waist.His chin on her shoulder.Each passing second is making his grip on her more.She gasped as his hold on her tightened.The tension in his stiff body enveloped her."Are you Okay?" finally she whispered.How can she ask that?Didn't she know that he is not okay?

She can feel his dangerously shivering body against hers.She can feel his hot,uneven breath at the nape of her neck.She can feel him hide his face in her hair like small kids do when they are fearing for some thing.She can feel him trying to sink in her more and more so that he can lost himself.All these things of him making her know that his situation is anything but fine. Then how can she ask that silly question are you okay? when the answer is the obvious to her.

A strange new unexplored pull that joined more than just their bodies. There was more than just a hug. A soul, intimidated till it had lost its true part and yet on its own way to finding another which would help to revive its originality.

seconds.. minutes..They don't know how much time they were in that position .

He moved back all the sudden making her gasp.Never had she felt anything like this.She inhaled sharply before looking into his eyes finding them to look into hers.

His eyes were all dry but blood shot red indicating how wet they supposed to be but how well he manged them not to..

He looked into her eyes one last time before leaving the room, leaving confused Ishita behind who actually came to confuse him...

The fears of his past made his future suspense...


I want to know what exactly you are feeling now... weather you like this or not but please speak up don't be silent ...

OMG this is too much to undersand about Raman feelings..Its very differant.

This was emotional ...loved it..
