Part 10
Ishita: Remember this Mr.Bhalla.. I don't like anyone or anything biting me except my husband.
She smirked and left the room, leaving raman shocked at her sudden boldness.
After a minute of digesting what just happened, he smiled and said, "The fun had just begun Mrs.Bhalla"
Next morning raman woke up to the beautiful sight of ishita sitting infront of the mirror brushing her long hair. As soon as she sensed that raman was awake, she turned around.
Ishita: Raman abb utho. 7 baj gayi hai. Humhe nikalna hai picnic ke liye. Me and mummyji have done all the packing.
Raman: Mummyji matlab? I thought only the three of us are going.
Ishita: Offo raman. The three of us are going. Mummyji just helped me with the packing.
She smiled and raman kept staring at her mesmerized. Ishita stood up and came to him. She cupped his face and pressed her lips on his. She sucked on his lower lip and smiled. Raman was taken aback by the sudden assault.
Raman: What was that jhansi ki rani?
Ishita: Arre aap itni jaldi bhool gayi? You were the one who taught me how a wife should wish good morning to her husband right? Maine bas wahi kiya. Good morning pati dev.
Ishita smirked and ran away before raman could get hold of her.
Raman, Ishita and Ruhi came to their picnic destination and went to have breakfast. After breakfast they went to the swimming pool for a swim. Raman went into the pool with an over-excited ruhi while ishita sat near the pool with her feet in the water. She smiled seeing the father-daughter duo enjoying and sent a quick prayer to her murugan to keep them together like this always.
However, a pair of eyes were looking at all this and was burning in jealousy. Shagun was at the same picnic spot to meet some of her friends. She couldn't bear to see raman, ishita and ruhi happily enjoying themselves.
Suddenly raman swam to where ishita was sitting and pulled her into the pool with him while ruhi giggled. Ishita was shocked and held on to raman's shoulder for support while raman held her by her waist. Ruhi came up to them and splashed water on her ishima. Three of them played in the pool like there's no tomorrow. When ruhi wasn't looking, raman placed a quick kiss on ishita's lips and smiled. Shagun's last string broke seeing raman and ishita lost in each other's eyes. She stormed off to her friends.
Shagun was fuming in anger and her friends asked her what is wrong. Shagun quickly acted like she was sad and told her friends how ishita has snatched away her family from her. She told them that ishita couldn't bear children which is why she used ruhi to marry raman. Shagun started crying and her friends told her not to worry.
After lunch raman, ruhi and ishita went to their room. Ruhi wanted to go sightseeing but ishita told her to rest for a while. So raman played a cartoon on the TV and the little family settled on the bed with ruhi in between. However, raman and ishita was least interested in the cartoon. Raman kept tickling ishita on her waist and ishita kept shooting daggers at her. Finally the cartoon was over and they set out to sightseeing.
They had dinner at a restaurant near a waterfall and raman and ishita had to dance on ruhi's insist. They came back at night with ishita carrying a sleeping ruhi in her arms while raman guided her towards their room. After tucking ruhi in ishita went searching for raman and saw him on a phone. So she went out to the garden to grab some air.
She heard someone whispering her name and turned around to see a group of women pointing at her.
Woman 1: She is the home breaker, Ishita. She is the one who broke shagun's home.
Woman 2: Haan maine bhi suna. Woh kiya hai na. Baanjh hai bichaari. So she is ought to do that.
Woman 3: Haan par koi aisa karte hai kiya?
Woman 1: Even though she has snatched away shagun's daughter, she can never experience what a mother does.
Woman 2: Arre why are we even talking about her. We shouldn't bring bad luck to our lives by talking about a barren woman.
Ishita heard the whole conversation and ran away from there. Her tears were flowing off her cheeks as she ran. She didn't know where she was going, she just wanted to escape from all the insulting comments about her state.
On the other hand, raman couldn't find ishita in the room when he finished the call. So he got worried. Her phone was also lying on the bed. So raman went out in search of her. On the way he met his bad luck which is shagun.
Shagun: Arre raman. Tum yahan? Kaha jaa rahe ho?
Raman: That is none of your business.
Shagun: Ishita ko doond rahi ho na?
Raman: Haan mein apni BIWI ko doond rahi hoon. Kyun? Any problem? You know what shagun. You have this very bad habit of poking your pinochio nose into my life. Just stay out of it.
Shagun: Haan haan. Mujhe kiya? Zindagi toh tumhari hi barbaad ho rahi hai. Uss baanjh behenji se shaadi karke.
Ramam lost all his control and gritted his teeth at her.
Raman: Isse pehle main yeh bhool jaao ki tum ek aurat ho, chali jaa yahan se. You should be ashamed of yourself shagun. Meri ishita baanjh nahin hai. She is a mother in all true sense. And look at you! Bacche hote hue bhi maa nahin ban paayi.
Raman shot daggers at her through his sharp words and resumed searching for ishita. He finally found her sitting near a river bank. Her legs were folded to her chest and she was looking up at the stars.
Raman smiled and went to sit near her. He wrapped his arm around her shoulder and found her trembling. Raman got worried and turned her around. He saw tears in her eyes and got more worried.
Raman: Ishu kya huva? Mujhe bataao.
Ishita: Nahin raman kuch nahi huva. Bas amma ki bahut yaad aarahi hai aaj.
Raman got surprised by her answer and pulled her more closer.
Raman: Hey jhansi ki rani. Waapas talwaar uthao na. You don't look like a jhansi ki rani when you are like this.
Ishita faked a smile and kept her head on his shoulder. They stayed like that for a while. Raman kept asking her what is wrong but she just brushed off the question. Ishita's mood stayed like that until they reached home the next morning. She went straight to her amma's house.
Ishita went and sat on the sofa. Her face was down and amma immediately noticed. She came to her and asked her what's wrong. Ishita kept her head on amma's lap and hugged her tight.
Ishita: Amma. When you first came to know that you are pregnant with me, how did you feel?
Amma: I almost flew off because of happiness. But ishu why are you asking this?
Ishita: And how did you feel when you first heard my heartbeats?
Amma: I felt that finally I am complete. Ishu are you okay?
By now ishita had tears in her eyes but she still continued.
Ishita: And how did you feel when you first felt me kick inside you?
By now realization dawned upon amma and she also realized why ishita was asking these questions. Amma caressed her hairs and told her not to worry. She hugged her tight and kept caressing her. But ishita's tears were not stopping. She was sobbing too hard. But she still continued.
Ishita: And how did you feel when you heard me crying for the first time? How did you feel when the doctor first gave me in your arms? How did you feel...
She couldn't continue anymore and started crying out loud. By now even amma had tears in her eyes.
Amma: No no ishu. Please rona mat. Aise nahi rote meri bacchi.
Ishita: How did you feel when I called you amma first? How did you feel when I took my first steps? Main kabhi yeh sab mehsoos nahin karpaaogi na amma. Toh please atleast mujhe bata do na.. Please... Please..
She started sobbing uncontrollably and amma couldn't do anything but hug her tighter.
Raman was at the door and heard the whole conversation. He had tears in his eyes too. Toshiji who came to visit her samdhanji came and kept her hand on raman's shoulder. Raman gripped her hand tightly as the welled up tears made their way down his cheeks.
Raman: Baghwaan bahut unfair hai maa. He gave this happiness to the one who didn't deserve it. And deprived the one who deserves it the most. Not fair maa. Not fair at all...
