When Shagun says those its to put down Ishita - make her feel infertile and claim a superiority over her - make it seem all Ishita has - a husband and child included are her rejects - and she ought to be grateful to Shagun for having dumped them in the first place so she could get the spoils so to speak.

But Raman - he isn't making a claim of superiority over here neither is he putting down Ashok just to establish some supremacy that feeds his ego - he is just laying down facts that for Ashok to have a family of his own - this so-called one which he has with Shagun and Adi under his roof, with her as his fiance and him as son - he wrecked apart a marriage, he was the one who chose to tempt a woman, a selfish woman so that he can gain something which perhaps he biologically is impaired to create - a child of his own.

Ishita never had to steal someone' husband or child - rather the child found love, comfort and security in her when she came in her contact...the man is being drawn to her because of who she is a a person despite having a resolution that he would have nothing to do with her post marriage she would only be the mother of his child.

The fact that Raman said the words have your own child were spoken because he wants Ashok to know just by being called dad no one becomes a father - like he told Shagun in the resort - bolne se maa nahi ban jaaogi, this to a woman who has given birth to both his kids.

there is a difference in being a parent and thinking you are one - nature and nurture are as different as chalk and cheese. Shagun always thinks she is a mother whenever it suits her fancy but that doesn't make her one... just like Ashok being called dad by Adi doesn't make him a father - cos he clearly doesn't have the feelings of one nor does he know what it entails.

That was the gist of that scene - it wasn't a veiled insult as it was an eyeopener in that regard.

Very well explained. I absolutely agree. Raman's taunts were not too much. When Shagun utters those words to Ishita, it is purely out of malice. She wants to hurt Ishita. Ishita does not provoke her. On the other hand, Ashok is the one who keeps provoking Raman all the time. Remember, "every action has equal and opposite reaction"...It was Ashok and always is Ashok who does the "action". Raman was just reacting. Nothing more. Their war of words was not so much about kids. It was more about Ashok trying to say for the nth time that he would snatch away everything that Raman has. Raman never said anything about "taking away". Rather, Raman pointed out that "if you have the capability, build something on your own. For where is the greatness in snatching and becoming something. Even a thief, a robber, a molester , a kidnapper, a rapist... they all snatch something...Ashok is just like them. It is the giver , not the snatcher who is great. In that sense, it is Raman who is great here.

I don't think it was rude at all Ashok deserve's more than that for what he has done with Raman trying to manipulate his kids to hate their father, and above all pushing Adi to do the wrong things encouraging him to break the rules ruining his life and Shagun supporting all this .his taunt was justified Ashok is living a pretence ,he has no idea how a father feels when he has kids all he wants to do is love and protect them.

I don't think it was in the wrong sense. I feel Raman meant that , if Ashok would have been a father he might, again only might, understand the importance of the relationship between parent and child.
For most of us, Dads are our heroes and our dads know it and work on ensuring its that way all their life. We look up to them knowingly or unknowingly at many junctures in our life.
IF Ashok had had a child, he might understand that emotion and may not attempt to break it for personal and professional gains
Also, Ashok and Shagun have already instilled hatred towards Raman in Adi. Though he is hurt, Ruhi provides him the solace that he is a loving and loved father
But now, the trio had crossed all limits by instilling the thought of being unwanted in Ruhi
And that's the worst to do to any human, let alone an innocent child.

ashok deserves much however i didn't like that our hero used that one insult that hurts ishita most against the villain. there are so many other things, in fact the list is quite long, that could be used to insult ashok

I don't think Ashok has any physical complication to father a child. Ashok clearly mentioned many times that he was raising Adi to get revenge from Raman and now he did hurt Ruhi purposely. Raman said it to make him feel that if Ashok were a father in truest sense, he wouldn't have used others child for materialistic benefits.

good lord, you're such a good writer 👏
but i disagree on one thing 😳- raman said have your own child then you may call yourself father. it was similar to when shagun says to ishita "i'm ruhi's real mother"

whether ashok is infertile is regardless
