Because they needed a new person to get Ishita's licence cancelled. She would not have treated Ashok and company in the same way. Not the best of thinking on part of the writers though. Now they can redeem the unnecessary element by bringing some variation in Suraj.

he is a reserve on the bench for a future track. he is also stirring trouble in the ashok- shagun relationship. all this while, Ashgun (not sure of their combined name) have seen like a regular shallow but committed couple. now it feels like suraj is dropping little drops of poison into ashok bhai's ear. Ashok for some reason doesnt want to come across like he loves shagun, so he too is acting up. suraj is now the creepy guy in the background shots during Ashgun scenes! 🤣

Anyways since they are wasting money on Sooraj, they can as well use him to turn slightly positive and fall for our Ishu...and make our Raman puttar jealous. This will be a good move for TRPs to see Raman burning with jealousy when Ishu is talking to Sooraj. Oh God ! make this happen for us pleeeasse

Perhaps to show Ashok is no rich orphan who resorted to playing sugar daddy just for kicks but because his genes are such and that he can have someone other than freeloaders who are good for nothing and have him paying their bills in the Khanna mansion too 😆

Also perhaps he may be instrumental in finally getting Shagun kicked out and Adi too from the place

I think cvs thinking to start a track like Suraj trying hard to kick Shagun out of his brother's life (As he does not like Shagun ) and becomes successful in doing so . And I just hope shagun will not go to Raman for help that time again using Adi's future as weapon of melting Raman's heart and thus it will lead a misunderstanding between raman and his family
