Subbu walked out on a loving relationship bec' he believed kids are a foundation of a marriage. In India, decades ago, the belief was that if a woman could have a child within a year or two after marriage, the husband will be bound to her for life bec' of the kids and won't stray. And even when they did, they were forced to stick together as a family for the sake of the child.

How was Subbu so sure he would be able to father a child? If Ishu was his first relationship and it was platonic there is no way he'd know for sure he could father a child. Men with low sperm count have been known to impregnate a woman and men who have no issues at all have not been able to father a child. It's a miracle of life and only happens by divine grace. There are plenty of people who have intimate relationships and not all of them end up in pregnancies.

Instead he choose to break all ties because his mom deemed her unfit for him and while doing so he didnt even face Ishita ONCE. He had his back to her even when he knew she was present in the room the whole time listening to his words. In that scene he even says he loves Ishita... he could have then afforded her the respect and courtesy for those 12 years instead of saying things like after marriage love fades away in a couple of years and two people stay together only for kids, if Ishita is unable to provide him a reason to stay long term why marry her.

He not only broke her heart he chose to make their relationship of over a decade almost a joke because of his words which is unforgivable.

Exactly my point. And Ishu wasn't mahaan then right. She was obviously heart broken. She took her time to accept it. She would have understood subbu's predicament if he had spoken to her. It all happened in a flash for her. CVs haven't explored this side of Ishu till now. She also has a broken heart. Easy for us to say that subbu was practical but the person who suffered was Ishita.

I would have thought of him wrong if after knowing this and then falling in love for 12 years and then leaving ishu. I would have considered wrong if knowing this he married her and made her felt about her physical weakness on daily basis.
I think its normal human behavior.

I'm really angry at this post.

Yes madhu knew and she didn't inform subbu but that's not her job. Medical information is private you don't go around saying stuff like "she's infertile!" "he has HIV" "her mom as cancer". It's PRIIIVAAATE.

But the main point is that you don't marry people like you buy merchandise for god's sake!
You marry people because you want to love and cherish them for the rest of your life, because you want to care and to be there for them.
If you realize the TV you plan on buying is broken, yeah you might want to return it. But if you realize that you're wife-to-be has a medical condition you don't THROW HER OUT OF YOUR LIFE. What is wrong with you??

If the real matter was kid/offspring then he should have marry her and both of them would have went for adoption.

Also he let his snake like mother mistreat and insult Ishita repeatedly. That's ALSO wrong.

It wasn't true love with Subhu and Ishita that's why after 12 year's of being together he was able to work away .Having a child was a strong desire for him and i think Ishita case has a surgical solution .

Subbu wasnt wrong at all...m glad he left Ishu. Atleast she cud see what a limp she was marrying. 😆

On a serious note, there were other ways to deal with it than abandoning the woman you committed a relationship of a life time. They could have adopted a child. If not even that they could have gone for the dozen of medical procedures available today for blocked fallopian tubes ex tuboplasty, IVF. But the truth is he didnt want to take in the effort. He wanted a woman whom he cud F*** and she bears the rest of the mess. Sorry to say but he was a loser and dats not what manhood is abt. period

Mrs. Iyer was wrong for hiding truth even ishita was upset with her. As a mother she thought for her daughter but didn't think of consequences after truth will be out. Not only subbu but she tried hard to hide from other boys too. What if anyone will tried to hide about their life from them eg. Mihir truth how will they handle this
Subbu for him it was sudden shock to him and he was blank and that blank space were filled by his mom that he should leave her.subbu has saw dream that he will marry ishita and will have beautiful kids and blissful life when he came to know about ishita infertility he was broken and he just concentrate on that kids whose dream he saw but he didn't saw that lady with whom he saw those dream and that's ishita. Even he wanted to leave ishita she could have handled in mature way instead of just saying without kids there is no life and never contacted to her. We can't blame only his mom for his decision because he was sane enough to take his own decision.

Subbu mom is like typical indian mom who want his son to get married and have a kids. When she came to know about ishita infertility she advised his son to leave ishita and marry another girl who can gave birth to kids. It was normal but still not right. Even once we accepted that she wanted his son happiness and his generation to go ahead she did this but why to humiliate and hurt ishita again and again by saying that she can't bear a kids and she is baanjh atleast as women she could be little sensitive towards ishita.

I am sure if infertility problem was from subbu side than she still supported him and married to him and try to do possible best medical treatment for his happiness and I am also sure subbu mom will try to cover her son problem and declared infront of world that it's ishita who us infertile and ishita did have accepted for the sake of subbu respect.

@ Red... Have thought about this many times. And Hmm that we do not know for sure. And we will never know.

Raman too want his kids. He is crazy about Adi. So are his family. Especially Toshji shown saying Adi is waaris. So really cannot say what would have happened.

@ black: Yes he has always shown empathy towards Ishita when topic was there. But as I said we will never know as Raman already has his biological children.

There was only a 10% chance that ishita wouldn't be able to conceive, madhavi prayed for the 10 percent to go away, nothing had happened so far to her so she thought it would be unnecessary to mention it 😕
