Varalakshmi vrata is not like karvachouth. This vrath is done to pray to goddess Lakshmi for wealth and prosperity and not only for husbands longevity . The cvs are mixing up festivals and confusing people

Yup it's done by women and they do fast but it's for the family as a whole. It's the Gowri pooja that is done for husbands.

It's called Varamahalakshmi/Varalakshmi Pooja or Vrata depending on the region.

Usually in Karnataka they call it varamahalakshmi or varmalaksmi colloquially in Tamil Nadu its called Varamalakshmi or varalakshmi pooja. In Telangana/Andhra its known as varamahalaksmi vratamu. Again it all depends on the region and personal use 😆. Vrata and pooja is interchangeable. Even for Satyanarayana pooja in some people call it Satyanarayana vrata.

Well Ishita was very clear about why she wants to do this vrat now. Not because its tradition but because its for Raman and the fact that this will make her MIL happy.
It might not be the tradition but if a person does something for someone else out of love and with a pure heart , that always pays off.

I really dunno why Ekta Kapoor makes serial on other cultures if she wants to show everything north indian only as she is north indian herself ...no offense to any northies , i love them and have many many friends .Its just a point i am making . In Pavitra Rishta too she showed all rubbish in maharashtrian culture , she showed sindoor rasam in weddings which is not there at all , sindoor in maang is not a rasam in maharashtrian weddings , mangalsutra rasam is and haldi kunku is applied between eyebrows . She shows everything in one community way only , her speciality it is .

yes, thats what she said to toshiji in last nights episode. amma said they eat pisam etc and then Ishu said that she would do the fast punjabi style as the normal fast i broken after the pooja. CVs not confused, just making Ishitha fast for her husbands protection especially due to the Suraj/ Ashok licence situation
