Moments of this day Jul 14-14

Strategy ka samay: Raman, Shagun and Pathak brainstorm about a new plan to get the shopping queen off the hook for the accident. Anything to prove that Shagun was nowhere near Mayur Vihar at the time of the accident. But Shagun's poor memory was testing Raman's patience.

Snack of the day: Madhu shares vada aka Madrasi pakora with Toshiji during lunch recess outside court. Iyers eat other foods besides idli/vada sambar and rasam. Should we send CVs a few recipes in case Iyers have a party after the case is put to rest?😛

Blooper of the day: When Raman got his bottle of water, he didn't pay for it. Also it was raining outside, but when he returned to the courtroom his clothes were dry.

Shopaholic Shagun: Shagun remembers being at the mall but the details were not forthcoming from her fuzzy brain. Memory loss at such a young age and that too recalling spa appointments, shopping sprees and social events? Start taking your vitamin b-12 right away lest you forget Lambu and Adi.

When Mrs. Kaul questioned Shagun about her whereabouts her response in essence was "I have nothing to offer anybody except my own confusion." Shagun lied nervously, but Mrs. Kaul outwitted her with her questions about shopping on the day of the accident, leaving the spa queen agitated and on the verge of exposing Adi in court. Will she ever be questioned about lying to Adi about Raman being an abusive father someday? 🤔

Out of order: Restless Raman was done squirming in his seat. He wanted to protect Adi at all costs and just when it looked like Shagun was about to blow the whistle on the Bhalla heir being the culprit Raman jumped off his seat "Enough" he ordered to call a halt to the proceedings. The judge informed Raman to have his say from the witness box. Not wanting to hear more lies from Raman, Ishu jumped off her seat and called a "Stop" to the proceedings and request a sidebar with the prosecutor.

Sharam of the day: Mrs. Kaul warning about lying under oath fell on Raman's deaf ears. It made no difference. He told the court that he was with Shagun that day. He could remember being with Shagun on the day of the accident but not where?😲 What a letdown! Could he fall any further with that lie? He had indeed fallen in his own eyes. So why continue to put your own integrity and dignity on the line to save Adi for a crime that he needed to be held accountable for, in his own best interests instead of this coverup?

Humiliation of the day: Ishu couldn't cope with the blatant lies in open court. With his statement from the witness box Raman had broadcasted to everyone in court, families included, details of their marriage that was uncalled for. To save face and further humiliation of their families at the expense of watching Raman lying just to save Shagun, Ishu was adamant that Mrs. Kaul refrain from questioning Raman about anything pertaining to his involvement with Shagun.

Plea of the day: Ishu explained to Mrs. Kaul she didn't want Raman questioned particularly about being with Shagun as there were more people involved in their relationship. She disclosed she didn't share a marital relationship with Raman but there were others whose lives were bound by this marriage. She said they had a bond of friendship, understanding and respect. Friendship is being put to the test and so is understanding but respect is missing. Where there is respect, great care is taken to not humiliate, lie or intentionally hurt the other especially in public.

Saved by the bell: The judge granted Ishu's request for a pow-wow with the prosecutor. Just as Ishu was done convincing Mrs. Kaul, the clock chimed and the judge called it a day. Don't blame you, Your Honor, what with the witnesses' outbursts interfering with the proceedings. Next time, please pound that gavel to show who's boss in the courtroom.😛

It's Ishu's fault: Mrs. Kaul could have brought this case to a close in favor or Mrs. Iyer had Ishu not interfered in the proceedings. Ishu says she wants to end this drama. Maano ya na maano, so do we, the viewers! It's been 30 episodes since Mrs. Iyer was hit by the white car. She could have let Mrs. Kaul nail Shagun and be done with it?

Supportive Sister: Silly Simmi claims loyalty to her bro Raman. This coming from the person who forged his signature and stole his project file from under his bed and handed it over to her hubby dearest so he could sink Raman's business. Who need enemies when you have a sister like her on your side? Her day of reckoning will be upon her.

Poor Lambu! Just a couple of days ago Shagun shrieked at him "you are good for nothing" and today she took a U-turn and told Raman "he is everything to me". Had Lambu been around to hear it, for all we know he may just have given her the 5 carat diamond ring.

Recalcitrant Ruhi: After a lunchtime chat with her cousin in crime Shravu at school, Ruhi came up with a plan to get Raman to take Ishu and her to a restaurant. The darling daughter who had lovingly served him dinner and read him a bedtime story was nowhere in sight😆. She requested an evening out with Raman and Ishu, as a family. Ishu was staring daggers at him so Raman came up with work as an excuse to bypass the request. But today Ruhi showed Raman she can be as stubborn as her Dad on occasion. Her mind was made up and no one was going change it for her, not today anyways and not even Ishu.

Call out for the day: Frustrated with himself, his predicament and his own behavior these past few weeks not to mention his lies in court Raman vented his anger on Ruhi. But this evening, she was no pushover. Raman's darling daughter became a daring daughter and stood up for herself. She called him out for making her a scapegoat to vent his anger She also reminded him that in the future she wouldn't take it lying down but would give back as good as she got. Raman got a wakeup call from Ruhi that he not take her for granted. About time he realized that Ruhi is not his punching bag. Would he dare to speak that way to his arrogant, angry aulad Adi? Out of the mouth of babes "He can talk anyway he wants, but I shouldn't talk the way I want". There you go little darling!👍🏼 Say it like it is.👏 When there is stress around them it's common for children Ruhi's age to act out this way. What are you looking at Raman? That your darling daughter dared to call you out? She is growing up fast while you are obsessing over gaining your son's affections. Stop taking her for granted, she deserves that from you as her father.
