Raman's dilemma, his decision making, his emotions, his guilty, his love, his betrayal, his vulnerable side, his tears every thing were just in the right place.
Whatever he did and why he did is for ADI and , NOT for Shagun, he lets go off Shagun ONLY for ADI, here Shagun has only a tag of Adi's mom and nothing more than that.. Adi is Raman's life, which he has shared with ishu in so many instances. Ishu is aware of what Adi means to Raman and how Adi is his weakness. here I wouldn't see Shagun as THE person who changed/influenced Raman's decision, it's Adi.. Raman has a different stand towards Simmi/Romi and Adi, as there is a difference between a sibling and one's own kid, kids are part of your being unlike siblings. Any parent would be biased towards their kids that is human, as mentioned in vedas ..."Moh and Maya" of sansaar, of family, of kids,
Had the scene been, without Adi and had Raman forgiven Shagun just that she was his ex wife, I wouldn't be penning down any thoughts today, but the changing factor or the one who influenced Raman today is his own kid, Adi, his love for Adi, Adi's tears for his mom... YES the ever so firm Raman Kumar Bhalla, was engulfed in the whirlpool of emotions and relations. With a heavy heart and guilt, he promised he wouldn't report Shagun, but at the same time the status quo shifted to the other side, the profound guilt took over with each of the family member's invincible trust on him, it was unbearable for him, to endure that trust which he just betrayed.
He is in a very vulnerable and distraught state, the man who looks straight into your eyes and talks point blank couldn't face himself today. Guilt can burn you inside, it can never let you in peace, it only breaks you. that is what is going to happen with Raman .
The last scene of IshRa was yet again beautifully written, Ishu out of all people noticed a disturbed Raman, he avoids facing her, she for the first time openly admits what he means to her and her family, how secured, peaceful, protected, happy and comfortable they are, just because of him, each of her words weighed more on his guilt and was depicted in his tears, There is nothing wrong in men being emotional, because even they are humans and feel the same pain.
I don't see any separation coming our way, IshRa as a couple are more mature and understanding and I see very negligible chances of misunderstandings between them which can lead to separation. Their relation started with misunderstandings, at each stage their misunderstandings cleared, blocks of trust and understanding are added between them, they became more and more transparent in sharing their views, their tears or anything. Here Ishu would be more hurt than angry, hurt, yes the same hurt, which was reflected in her eyes, when she was talking to bala jiju regarding Adi's tuition, where jiju mentions how Raman felt that Ishu would no let him tutor Adi, that scene, I felt was left like that, I thought there would be a continuation, but nevertheless there was diff thing in the following episode. but now I have a feeling that left out part will be continued here, where Ishu once again feels that Raman thinks her to be selfish enough to send Adi's Mom (Shagun) to police, separating Adi from his mom.
Ishu completely and thoroughly understands what Adi means to Raman, She is one of the most understanding person out there, in fact, much to Raman's surprise and shock, she would be the one to let go of Shagun if it is for Adi, similar to the tuition scene where she requested and convinced Bala jiju to tutor Adi, all for Raman. She has admitted what Raman means to her and her family, I don't see any point where she would step back in helping or standing by Raman's side in any situation, where they both decided to be together for both the kids.
Going further, I see a phase where Raman must and will understand Ishu is as much a mom to Adi as she is to Ruhi, just like he is dad to both the kids. This can also trigger the broken promise where he promised Ishu to share everything related to Adi, but failed to. Ishu was never ever shown insecure of Shagun, she is secured and she trusts Raman. Generally they say kids bind the parents together in a strong bond, Ishu is Ruhi's mom, before Raman's wife, insecurities can be for a wife, but not for a mom. Raman is not the who is not breaking her heart for Shagun or going back to Shagun, today it was Raman, Adi's father who was influenced, who took a decision which, I would't say right or wrong, rather I would say, it was a decision where his predicament can be understood.
If Shagun was handed over to the cops and Adi was left to cry for his mom, Raman would still be under the same guilt, this time not for Ishu, but for Adi, even when he did right to Ishu's amma, it's not about right or wrong, it's about being caught up in a dhuvidha, two sides of same coin, where you don't know what is right and what is wrong, it's just human emotions, emotions of a parent, emotions of a husband, emotions of a son which created a turbulence in his heart and mind.
May be it's a step to make a family complete than separate the parents (IshRa)
