When I told you last night that I had some thoughts about progression in IshRa (and someone else also, but I wont disturb this post by talking about him 😃, he's requested that I focus on IshRa today 😉 ), this is what I wanted to say (I am basically saying what you said, 100% agreement in case it isn't clear, while I am rambling)...


Raman: He was a restless man.

His heartache, the betrayal he faced made him sad, angry, mean, hating, impatient and all the outer things we have seen. But the one emotion that I wasnt able to articulate before now is that he was a restless man. Ishita came into his life and solved all his problems. At least all the ones he knew about. But the thing that he did not know was that he was missing Sukoon in his life. So, even in the face of some major issues like the accident mystery, Amma's health, Param's exposure, and possibly his own sister's betrayal, Raman is now peaceful. He is unfazed by whatever life throws at him. Imagine all this happening a few months ago. If we even rewatch the first 50 episodes, we'll know the difference. The restless Raman would have, by now, killed someone out of anger and may have even gone to jail!


Ishita: She was the opposite of restless.

Her heartache, the betrayal she faced made her put on a mask of strength, calmness and serenity. She always maintained herself on the high-ground, and hence was a bit aloof from the naked emotions of her soul. Raman came to her life and solved her problems. The ones everyone knew about. What she was missing was actually some 'fire' in her life. And i am not talking about anything physical here. In the face of all the problems, she has learnt now to stand her ground, and let people know how she feels. She's learnt that slipping out of the mask is not necessarily a bad thing, and showing someone that she needs them for support is not a weak thing to do. The Ishita from a few months ago would have seriously swallowed all the pain, and no one, including her own family would have even known. Yes she would have given lectures about right and wrong, but not about how hurt she was by anyone or anything.

IshRa:

IshRa was a couple with 2 extreme personalities. Their appeal was that they were an explosive couple because of the opposite natures. Both the people in that relationship were proud individuals who did not think they needed the other person, at least not for themselves. They wanted to win over the other one. They wanted to be right. They wanted the other person to lose and accept defeat. They wanted the other person to be apologetic or grateful, depending on the situation.

The 2 reactions that light the bulb in my head yesterday:

- she told him she was doing drama when she saw him suffering and going the extra mile (even when she believed he was doing all that for Adi) - She didnt HAVE to do this.
- He told her he did all this to make her happy, he had decided that he would start with her happiness when he was learning to do things for others' happiness. - He SURELY DID NOT have to do this.


I kept re-running these reactions through my head after the episode. somewhere in the game of cat and mouse yesterday, they both realised that they didnt want to win OR They both realised that their defeat was a worth more than victory here OR there was nothing like victory or defeat anymore when it came to each other. OR all of the above !

Maano ya na maano, but I'm really not being lazy here. 😆 Everything I would say in response to this I said in your previous topic, so don't kill me, but I am copy pasting some sections from that post and made a few edits and additions to also include Tuesday's episode.

This is truly the best phase in the Raman-Ishita relationship. We can discuss each little point of progression ad nauseum, which we even have at times. 😆 It's these little moments, though, that make such a big difference and contribute so greatly in showing the slowly but surely changing relationship between Raman and Ishita. Monday and Tuesday's episodes showed great progression through what we were led to believe was under a guise (Adi ke liye), and were then hit with a sixer: no guise and all sirf Ishita ke liye. 😃.

A major quality of the character of RKB is his love for children, almost to a fault. His love for Adi has made him do crazy things, which he realized when he used and hurt Ishita before and made her apologize to Adi. Ishita was ultimately on the receiving end of major hurt in that situation. Raman did hesitate there, knew this was something he shouldn't ask, that he might regret later, that this was really pushing it, but his desperation for his son's acceptance and love was in a league Ishita and her feelings were nowhere near at that time. He therefore chose to hurt Ishita, fully aware and conscious of what he was going to do: hurt Ishita. For him, it was the situation that was unfortunate and desperate, with Ishita's feelings being a very very distant second. Present-day: we are once again presented with a situation where Raman has his son on one end, and his wife on the other. The differences here to be noted: Whereas in the previous situation Raman really did have his son vs his wife, in this situation, he only thinks he does, because the uloo has yet to completely understand Ishita 😡. When before it was directly Adi vs Ishita, Ishita was a means to an end for Raman. Now when it's not even a direct set-up with the two against each other, Raman thinks it is because now Ishita and her feelings matter, so much so that that he'll go the to lengths he did today to be careful there's not even a slight chance that he will hurt Ishita. He is now trying to make sure both Adi and Ishita are on equal footing with him in regards to him being fair, even when neither are being pitted against each other! The other difference I want to note is the level of care and consideration he is giving to Ishita and her feelings in the present-day situation. Whereas before he knew he made a mistake and hurt her, it was ultimately for Ruhi that he knew he had to do right by Ishita. During this time of their relationship, although painful for us viewers to watch, there were no feelings for each other, so Raman not considering Ishita was aligned with their then-status, which included him rectifying his mistake for Ruhi. In their current status, there are feelings for each other present, evidenced how in this situation, Ruhi is a non-factor. Raman is exercising a great amount of caution and care to Ishita'a feelings not because he's afraid of what Ruhi will feel and say if she comes to learn about this, but because he's afraid to hurt Ishita and her feelings as he has come to respect and care about both.

Ishita has been shown to be very guarded and careful, but still loving and compassionate. We have seen that she is willing to open her heart again if she finds that trust that, although once shattered, can be re-built. Although Ishita was adamant there will never be any feelings between her and Raman and that this relationship was nothing but a compromise, it was Ishita was saw time and again being open to building an actual husband-wife relationship in addition to co-parenting. Like Raman, Ishita has been burned, once by her ex that broke her trust in love, and second by Raman, when he used to put his feelings and the feelings of others above hers. That first incident with Adi where she was made to apologize hurt Ishita deeply, and rightfully so. She understood then this was a blatant example of being used as a means to an end, and that she and her feelings were not considered once. It is therefore both surprising and not surprising that she is encouraging Raman to manao her when she knows he's doing this with the motivation of love for his son. It's surprising considering how hurt she was before, but given the status of their relationship during that time, her hurt highlighted how distant the two were emotionally. Coming to today, it is not surprising she encouraged him as she has come to understand Raman and his heart, and knows he's a good person who is now really trying to do right by both his son and his wife. She also, like you noted, has come to fully accept and encourage the Raman-Adi relationship. Ishita now realizes that Raman does take her feelings into consideration, but I bet she wasn't expecting the extent! 😲😆 Given that there are now real feelings between two outside of their mutual love for Ruhi, Ishita trying to make Raman realize how he's an idiot for still not understanding her is therefore very much in-character and logical and cohesion storytelling.

Coming to when Raman delivered the sixer, that he did this all for Ishita, I have to say, now that was a winning moment if there ever was one in terms of showing a growing relationship between two people! 👏 Ishita felt so terrible about making Raman do the rituals when she would have never cared before; the girl started crying thinking about the hoops she was making him jump through just for his love for Adi! 😆 How is a woman not going to melt seeing a man being so open and honest about his crazy love for his child? Hayyy. What I and probably other viewers found so trivial in regards to deserving an apology (Ishita intentionally making Raman jump through hoops), Ishita took to the heart, and had to deliver a rambling apology because she felt that bad for Raman. Raman, you star you, seemed more annoyed that she doubted he could be so nice to her without any outside pressure (good he got a taste of that medicine after making Ishita feel bad because he misunderstood her!). 😆 What I especially liked in this scene was how Raman proved to both Ishita and the viewers that he does listen to and take into consideration what Ishita says. Raman credited Ishita for doing what he did, as he said he was following her advice to make other people happy, so he wanted to start with her. So not only was he doing this the entire time to make Ishita happy because she deserved it, but also because he wanted to pay heed to her words, Wah. He also noted he wanted to make others happy by starting with Ishita, his wife, prioritizing her happiness over others, not because of Ruhi or majboori, but because he acknowledges she's become a very important part of his life and deserves at least this from him. Raman, you just win in life. No other words. 👍🏼

As you said, everything between them has been equal; they're equally confused, equally in denial, equally scared and hesitant, but also equally in love This is undoubtedly one of their best and most beautiful features of their relationship.

I avoid to think about future but I was clean bowled by Raman's flawless acting last night which gave me this bhayanak indication of future
Why does it looks like Raman will make Ishu confess her love first by tricking her when at the same time Ishu wanted to confess her feelings to him
Raavan will then tease her for lifelong for confessing first. SHIT !!!

He will not confess that easily first. But it depends on how much tears are shed by Ishu as her tears has become his weakness now (saw 2-3 times in last few episodes)
