The fact that this happened to Ishita is extremely sad but unfortunately, it is the harsh reality. Ishita is a desirable young intelligent and educated lady. Some might wonder why she didn't handle this case with more care. The truth is, in my opinion, that no matter if you are an illiterate or highly educated woman / person, you will act on emotion (fear) and impulse.
Luckily, Ishita did manage to escape and... At least she was 'safe' in jail, away from that nasty predator!
Ishita and Raman had eye contact while Ishita was telling her story. By Raman's expressions I felt like he had no doubt about who is right and who is wrong but he was fighting this dilemma on what would be the right thing to do. What if his instinct are failing him? He knows Ishita well enough now but.. Did he not think he knew Shagun very well too? He blindly sided with Shagun years ago and spoke up against Mr Bhalla. In the end.. He was wrong.. But how can he be wrong about Ishita? He knows her well, even better than herself.
But then.. The fact that Toshji and Simmi knew and did not inform Raman. And that he could sense Ishita's behavior changed on the phone. How come her phone was switched off when he called her and still she managed to send text messages? Is it his fault? What if he would have behaved more politely and lovingly towards her? If it is not love but just sex what she wanted then why act like a prude and sleep on the sofa or not look at me while I am naked in the shower 😃? (I had to crack a joke, too serious otherwise.)
All this and more are now demons in his head which he will have to face and fight first. Mihir and Bala will be the angels on his right shoulder to give him strength to choose who and what is right.
I loved especially Raman's rollercoaster expressions of fear, disbelief. But also empowering to Ishita to at least speak up and say want happened to her.
