The moment Ashok deserts her, she's going to go back... But, not likely to happen now... I would appreciate if the uniqueness of the show is maintained in such places instead of a mahaan heroine sacrificing everything for others...Typical Ekta style...There'll be leap and their child would unite them...

Being a unique story, i want a strong heroine who would show Shagun her place...

Her ego got hurt because Raman has moved on but she couldn't (Still GF of Ashok)... She was the one who left him and she wants to see him suffer... Her character is quite complex that it is difficult to explain...

Maybe she never expected Raman to grow so much...

yes she is a self obsessed lady...and we all have seen that "bechari" expression on shagun's face whenever raman tonts her that she is till ashok's gf...

Shagun never fails to amuse me... In particular, that holi event... How can she even expect someone to love her after all that she has done??? Also, in their relationship, i doubt if she ever loved Raman... Not that she's loving Ashok now still from day one, it was a failed marriage with Shagun treating marriage as something which will fulfill her materialistic pleasures... The day she knew Raman is incapable of all that, she left him...

She is an interesting character...

Actually, i have read the book. A good part of the beginning of the book is about the ashok-shagun. It isn't written all that well, drags and is kind of dark. The romance between ishra was lukewarm. The writer picked a good bold subject. The story concept of the custody and the basic characterization is good - this is what Ekta lifted with full permission to mould per an interview with Manju Kapoor.

Personally, i am glad EK didn't make YHM like the book. It would have died a quick death.

Agree anything happen in serials,

no offense...just my view.

YHM arouse the curiosity in me to read the book and i was indeed thankful it is not the same. You are right...it was too gloomy. Ashok and Shagun were also leads. The message i found there was disturbing because Shagun was never shown in a bad light. She head her own reasons for having EMA which didn't go well with me.

Wish we don't get any stupid twists...

Oh yeah krikumar91, I remember reading your post where you did a really great comparison of the book Custody and the serial YHM.

Interesting re Shagun never being shown in a positive light. In the interview with Manju Kapoor, apparently her only ask to Ekta was not to have Shagun shown in a negative light. I would say Ekta has only loosely honoured this in that even in the book, Shagun was self-involved ...although not revengeful. Ekta's Shagun, as a narcissist is more interesting with her vulnerabilites being revealed in the current track.

Although, i have no objection to Shagun leaving a marraige where she wasn't happy. Just don't care for her dropping the responsibility to her children.
