Oh yeah krikumar91, I remember reading your post where you did a really great comparison of the book Custody and the serial YHM.

Interesting re Shagun never being shown in a positive light. In the interview with Manju Kapoor, apparently her only ask to Ekta was not to have Shagun shown in a negative light. I would say Ekta has only loosely honoured this in that even in the book, Shagun was self-involved ...although not revengeful. Ekta's Shagun, as a narcissist is more interesting with her vulnerabilites being revealed in the current track.

Although, i have no objection to Shagun leaving a marraige where she wasn't happy. Just don't care for her dropping the responsibility to her children.

Even Ashok... There was no face off btw Raman and Ashok at all... Shagun moving out of her marriage is not a bad thought but having a affair and hiding the same is unforgivable. I never knew Manju Kapur asked something from Ekta... Ekta chose to dishonour that single request too... 🤢

I was mistaken - it was an interview with Ekta Kapoor where she mentions it - see second question. From the last sentence in her anser, it seems Manju made the request but Ekta subtly declined - so maybe its not quite a dishonour.

In the novel Shagun and Ashok truly love each other and is not bothered about Raman remarrying.. Adi and Ishita never bond. In the novel Ishita also feels jealous of Ruhi meeting Shagun... It is more about how kids suffer after divorce... Than anything else... If it's turned into a movie or serial remaining faithful to the story... We will find it boring and too stressful...

haha...ekta never listens to anyone...but jo bhi she is superb when it comes to casting...till she is not sure that the pair looks good onscreen she doesn't approve the cast and keeps on taking auditions...i really like that about her...my friend working at the balaji told me this...
and it seems taking up the basic concept from the novels is her new passion coz i heard her new show kumkum bhagya is also based on a novel
