Castaway Island staff on cloud nine after meeting Abha

Staff and management of Castaway Island Resort were extremely delighted when Indian TV star and model, Suhashi Goradia Dhami best known as Abha in popular TV serial "Yahan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli" and her husband Jaysheel made a surprise visit to the island yesterday.

"They were out on a charter cruise with Ocean Charters and the crew recommended that they visit Castaway," Castaway Island marketing manager Karen Marvell said.

Resort manager Steven Andrews, right, and staff members flank Suhasi Dhami and her husband Jaysheel.

"They arrived at around 4.45pm in the afternoon and Resort Management met the couple, showed them around the resort and hosted drinks up at Sundowner Bar, overlooking the beach and water," Ms Marvell added.

Ms Dhami's husband, Jaysheel said: "We are blown away by the beauty of the island, the calming ambience of the resort and the genuine welcome of the Castaway staff."

Jaysheel and Suhashi commented that Castaway was quintessential Fiji' with the authentic bures, relaxed feel and natural beauty of the resort. They said they hadn't seen anything like this on the mainland.

"When it was mentioned that Castaway have a traditional Fijian Meke' dance performance and Fijian Lovo' feast on Wednesday evenings, Suhashi and Jaysheel asked if they could come back a few hours later to see this. We of course, were delighted to host them," Ms Marvell informed.

"They returned for a couple of hours at 7pm and raved that their short visit to Castaway was the highlight of their trip so far. When they departed, the Castaway family of staff performed Isa Lei on the beach. "

Meanwhile, Abha will be performing at Prince Charles Park in Nadi tonight.

Indian TV star pays surprise visit to Treasure Island

12 December 2013 - One of the best known faces on Indian TV, and now a regular favourite on FBC TV, actress Suhasi Dhami has paid a surprise visit to Treasure Island Resort.

Suhasi, who plays Swarn Abha in the TV drama series Yahaan Main Ghar Ghar Kheli', took time out from a busy schedule to visit Treasure Island where she chatted with staff and also visited the resort's turtle enclosure.

Arriving in Fiji last week, the actress has been busy performing in a series of concerts around the country with Bollywood comedian Jimmy Moses.
