@GrimReaper: Last year, I dnfed The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. It was so popular and everyone was raving about it but I found it extremely boring. The other one was Born Darkly by Trisha Wolfe.
I read minimum 3 books at a time, all from different genre. I can't concentrate if the two books I am reading are of same genre. Also, my mom loves reading so I guess that's where I get it from. But, she isn't as obsessive as I am. I live and breathe books.
@Anam: Oh, you started the book. I am glad you are liking it. I am planning to start it this week after I finish all the books I am currently reading. I never realized it was Historical Fiction. That's one of my least read genre so I am really looking forward to how I end up feeling about this book.
@Diya: You are not alone. I can never give up my books either. I have the entire set of Divergent along with all the novellas which I am not a big fan of but I am just unable to let it go. It's just they are so pretty. 😆 And lending books to my friends is a thing I am terrified of. It's just I can dog ear my books but no one else are allowed to. They don't get it. 😆
It's really fun to read all of your bookish habits.
Such a beautifull idea. 😊
I want to join this club although I am slow in reading in English. 😳
Welcome to the book club Awida 🤗 hope you have a good time here.
It doesn’t matter, you read at your pace and avoid the discussions that might have spoilers. Or you could read the books that we choose that don’t have too many pages.
If I go with my first choice in my head, next month’s book has less than 280 pages so you could join us in reading the September’s pick.

Found another person who doesn’t get the hype about The Silent
Patient. I had pretty much guessed the twist so that’s another reason it was boring, besides the fact that was slow paced.I read minimum 3 books at a time, all from different genre. Historical fiction hasn’t been a favourite with me as well, I’ve read only a handful of books in this genre. The last historical fiction I read and liked was Salt to the Sea by Ruta Sepetys which had very short chapters and was a quick read unlike what I expected it to be.

I like reading spoilers😆
Finished reading Where the Crawdads Sing. I honestly didn’t have very high expectations because of the hype surrounding the book and some of you saying that the reviews were mixed.
The reason I chose this book was because I knew it is not a genre many of us normally read and the idea of the book club was to read more varied genres. The fact that its been widely talked about in recent times was another reason to select this book.
The first 60-70 pages of the book are slow and descriptive as I mentioned before and it takes a while to grow familiar with the world the author has described.
Once you stick around, the story picks up and you are transported to a very different world.
The last 100-150 pages of the book go by very quickly with the murder being investigated and a courtroom drama.
I didn’t expect much from this book and came away pleasantly surprised. The most hyped of books have left me disappointed and I guess going into this book with no expectations helped.
wow that was fast
i havent even started it
Me neither. 😆
Will start it soon.

@bold: This makes me interested. Mystery/thriller is my comfort zone.
