Thanks to Diya for directing me to land on this beautiful thread!👍🏼

A huge book lover, book dragon, tsundoku here! And it's such a lovely feeling to see follow book nerds here! Finally a place where we won't look cray for owning two large bookshelves and share the warmth that comes along with being in a book's proximity❤️

I love collecting books. Earlier I used to read at least a book a week but now owing to college and stuff it has deteriorated quite alarmingly. I still buy them, on sales and love arranging my bookshelf

Been through all, from carrying another book on a trip just in case the first one is done reading to having read novels discreetly under my school desks during a lecture😆

Looking forward to the activity👍🏼

P.S I can see so many familiar names here....Diya, Brit, GR, Hinna! Lovely to see you guys! Perhaps everyone from team GR is a Hermione😉

Bucky!! Welcome to Book-Lover's Den. 🤗

Yes, there are many familiar names. Seems like bibliophiles keep crossing paths with other bibliophiles.

I think we've all done those things. Reading novels under school desks is my favourite. I completed the whole Harry Potter series that way. I think almost everybody in my class knew what I was up to. Adding to the thrill, you see. 😆

@bold, True that. Her house, her traits. 🤣

The book is extremely descriptive and gives you a vivid picture of Kya’s surroundings. It’s too early to judge but it’s good so far.

It sounds interesting, but I'm a bit doubtful over the extremely descriptive part. I don't usually like too much description in a novel, so let's see if I like this one.

I can never manage to give my books up. I've tried and failed to do that, even when your way makes so much more sense. Even if someone asks for a book to read, I can't part with it without tons of instructions to take care of it. They must think I'm crazy.

I can understand your reluctance to give up books even if I find it easier than you to give them up. Same here, I also have a hundred instructions even when I give my books to my mom. Some of the instructions I give my mom -

Don’t put the book face downwards, don’t put your mug of tea on my book, don’t use my book to place and write your lists on, keep pens away from my book, etc. etc. 😆

Good to know I’m not the only crazy one 😂

My instructions also go like that. I always get raised eyebrows when I say 'don't use my book to place and write your lists on'. No one understands why that might be a concern.

Also, don't mark my book, don't underline anything, don't scribble or doodle, no dog-ears, don't fold the book to read, take care of the spine...the list is endless.

After this discussion, I understand why people simply keep away from my books. I think it's easier to do that than take care of them like I do.😆

I think we will find many crazy people here. 😛

I try to keep variety in my reading. But still, I end up reading crime/thrillers more frequently compared to other genres. One of the main reasons why I wanted to join a book club is that I hoped it would motivate me to read different genres. And of course to talk about books and bookish things without having the other person's eyes glaze over.

Wow.😲 There are many books from this list in my tbr.

And there is only one book from this book that I've read - The Christmas Carol. Even that was so long back, I don't remember the story vividly. And there's The Diary of a Young Girl that I'm currently reading.

And IF really should have an option to pin/save a post.

Always intended to include books from the Rory reading list, that’s why I wanted to know how many of you are familiar with the show and the list.

I’m about 120 pages in and it’s going good so far. A little slow, but good. The descriptive part was for about the first 60 pages to give a feel of the world and circumstances of the character (because it’s not the usual) and now the focus is on the story.

Oh that's good. I am going to start reading it in a day or two.
