Yeah it was a bad version of Hunger Games and Selection series mixed together. Really not that great. Funny I see the new book around a lot in every department store I go. Totally popular
Have you read the Selection Series?🤣
Bad books always reminds me of Twilight. Even though I haven't read a single line from that book. Oh wait, FOG was fanfiction of Twilight. Huh. Explains. *cough*
I shouldn't even badmouth Twilight given I haven't given it a try in any way possible. So yeah.

I started Selection but it was boring so I mainly just breezed through the entire trilogy. Now I don't remember anything from it, but at one point, I have read some of it. :p

Twilight... Well, I've read them and I loved the books at one point. Um, 7-8 odd years ago. I was just a starry eyed teenager, only 15 when I read the books. At the time, it seemed so nice and lovely. Like, there's this extraordinary boy who's just the most handsome guy ever and he loves his girlfriend so much blah blah blah. i was a huge Team Edward girl. Now, I do see that it's very very very problematic. Bella was pathetic and a pushover, Edward was controlling and stalkerish, and Jacob was manipulative af. But, somehow, they're still special to me because once upon a time, I loved them. A lot.

And, having read FSOG, I can see that the leads share many qualities with both Edward & Bella, but in Twilight, Edward wasn't as far gone as Christian has been portrayed. It was like the author took Edward and made him more twisted to make Christian. Anna tho, is a LOT like Bella. A lot!

It was going so good. I was loving Clary and Jace and stupid drama started to unfold and crap piling up. That crap just kept piling up until the 3rd book. Jeez!
I wasn't ready for the second book but like you said, so many CC fans! Jeez you can't run away far enough from them.
It was boring. Stayed boring. And then I thought I am done with this crap. It will just never get better.
You missed Jace's drama.
😆

Yes! You have CC fans everywhere and at times I'm just like... How do you read her books? They're so boring!!

This, I agree with. Twilight has it's bunch of problems, but it's a lot better than many other romance novels out there. At least it's engaging af, which is so much better than many other stories that just fail to hold your attention.

FSOG though... It basically glorifies abusive relationships. Christian kept Anna on such a tight leash. At times it felt like she couldn't breathe without his approval. And... I'm not into the Kinky stuff but I've read other novels where characters engage in such things, but the way it's portrayed in FSOG is not nice. It's like... Hurting his subs makes Christian happy and it gets him off. That's just... That's vile. BDSM isnt about hurting your partner. It's about giving up entire control of the situation. At least, that's what I've understood, but again... Not into it so I haven't really looked it up properly.

Oh my god, SAME!!! Jace's drama started in book 4 again, and I was just done. I really thought it'll go away and maybe we'll get that sassy sarcastic Jace back from the first half of the City of Bones, but nope. They got together and even that wasn't enough for him! Okay.

I only gave a chance to The Infernal Device because I heard it was better than TMI. Don't be fooled, it was THE SAME! This time the main guy is screwed up from the very beginning.
The characters even had similar names🤣
Theresa Gray - Like Clarissa Fray from TMI🤣
It's not that great. Only one character was nice, but not enough for me to continue reading in boredom.

Theresa Gray & Clarissa Fray sound like the names of twin sisters. 🤣

Well.. I truly am an ardent follower of Colleen Hoover and I love Tarryn Fisher's individual stories. So when I came to know that these two were writing together, the expectation skyrocketed.
The first part is actually good. There's suspense and one will be hooked but what happened with the next two? Why on the earth the duo stretched a single story so much by making it a trilogy! It was a disaster. I still completed the series just because of the authors but it was simply waste of time! Wish I had read something else in that time!😔

There was once a time when I loved Colleen Hoover, but looking back now... I just don't like her at all. It's like nome of her books have an original plot. It's all, girl meets boy, girl and boy fall in love, they can't be together cause *issues*, lots of angst, HEA. That's it. That's all that's happened in all her books.

They explained somewhere why they had to make into 3 books. Due to their contracts , they cannot release a co-written book as one only. So in order to do so , they had to divide it in 3 little books 😊

I also didn't like the last two parts of Divergent series.
When I read the first one, I was beyond hooked. But the next two parts couldn't give me even half of the satisfaction I received from the first one.

Hmm I know that. But what my meant was the plot seemed unnecessarily dragged to me for three parts. Moreover to me the interest was lost somewhere in the middle of part two. Still I completed the whole series because of the adoration I hold for the authors' stories. But in the end, I was disappointed. 😔
