Chapter 2- The Cordial Help

" Of course Radhika " told Keshav. " What better way to meet your colleagues " . He took his lunch box and followed her.

The lunch room was full and most people had started lunch when they entered. Seeing Keshav the hall felt silent

" I never knew I am a hero " told Keshav

" Hero" Radhika mused

" Of course see the hall, suddenly everyone silent. Guys I am just your colleague. Don't look at me with awe"

The hall burst into laughter as Radhika started introducing " Keshav this is Nitin Mishra, lovingly called Break up Mishra. Expert in divorce cases "

" And since I don't have the patience to go through the mess have decided to be a bachelor " told Nitin shaking hands with Keshav

" This is Vysali Thakur, she manages the civil cases " . Vysali got up. " Radhika why didn't you tell I am called Miss goody woody"

" Goody woody" asked Keshav.

" Actually Vysali have always sympathy for everyone. She doesn't like going to court. So she tries all the trick in the book to get out of court settlement. She wants to give everyone something" told Nitin

" This is our criminal master mind " Shailesh Mohapatra". It is told he reads the criminal's mind. Shailesh laughed and hugged Keshav.

" Keshav did she introduce herself. She introduced our specialty. But Radhika handles the most tough cases in all categories . Most brilliant lawyer of our firm " told Shailesh

" Shailesh started, if you do half the praise you are doing for me to your GF, she would have been your wife now " the hall laughed. It was known to everyone that Shailesh was having live in with his partner Shweta and questions on when are they getting married was the talk of the firm.

Then Radhika moved on and introduced junior lawyers. Keshav shook hands with them.

" And this is Madhu, Pranav, Charu and.."

" Charu where is Dileep "

" Mam Dileep is in court. You had asked for an adjournment on that Rastogi Property case. He has got to get that"

" Oh I forgot. Keshav going forward Madhu and Pranav will assist you" .

" Sure Radhika. Guys let us have a brief meeting after lunch " Keshav told Madhu and Pranav .

"Now last but not the least Suchitra. She will be our joint PA and you need to understand one thing Keshav you wont be able to work here without her" . Suchitra said a " Hi" and Keshav smiled back at her.

As they sat for lunch Vysali asked " Keshav what about your family"

" My family. Yaa my wife Malini is a housewife and we have a lovely daughter Diya who is in 1^st std. I have come from Lucknow as my uncle who is in Ahemadabad felt I should be having bigger dreams. That's it"

After lunch Keshav went to his cabin followed by Madhu and Pranav and Radhika moved to hers.

Radhika looked hearing a knock on the door " Come in"

Her assistant Dileep walked in " Dileep did we get adjournement" asked Radhika

" Yes Mam. We have the final hearing on Dec 16^th" told Dileep

" Dec 16^th" groaned Radhika. " Why what happened Mam. Any issues " asked Dileep concerned.

" No nothing Dileep. You just check this robbery case. I feel quite a lot of things are missing. Could you please read the file and send a report to me. We will have the first hearing next week" said Radhika handing over a file to Dileep

" Sure Mam" told Dileep as he walked out.

Radhika couldn't concentrate on work completely as the date of final hearing haunted her. 16^th Dec was Abhi's birthday. Last year also some case had come. Though he didn't tell, Radhika felt Abhi was annoyed when she didn't make the special dishes for his birthday. If it repeats this year which she know will happen if she had to attend the final hearing, Abhi might tell something. She didn't wanted any disruption in her marriage.

She was still in thoughts as she came out of her cabin. Keshav was also locking his cabin.

" Any issues Radhika. You look concerned " asked Keshav

" Nothing major Keshav. Same thing working woman face. Work-Life balance"

" What happened. Can I help" ask Keshav

" No Keshav I will manage" told Radhika as they walked towards the entrance

" See Radhika you don't need to be super woman. Taking help is acceptable which I keep telling my wife too. Allow me in kitchen" . Radhika laughed and told him her problem.

" I will handle the case " Radhika

" But Keshav this is final hearing and being your first case do you want to take such a risk "

" Radhika I love risks. What better way to start in this firm than take the final hearing of a complicated case. Give me the file. We will discuss through it in the coming days. You relax and enjoy your hubby's b'day"

As she handed him the file Radhika felt herself relieved. Her problem was solved for the time being.

What a catch 22 situation. Keshav and Radhika combo seems like the best team.. Both are going to be complimenting each other yet are each others biggest competition.. If healthy will help either to have a great work - life balance.
