He crushed the page of the note pad in his fist. His teeth bit his lip hard and his jawline suddenly became rigid. He stormed out from the room.

She was pondering about the last few weeks. She was sitting on a bench in the park. The children were playing around her. People were enjoying the lovely evening around her. Some children were sprinkling water from the fountain which was placed in the middle of the park. Some old aged people were sitting beneath the tall, big trees and chatting with each other. But she had no interest in these activities. Normally she greeted the old aged people with her broad and innocent smile, was always ready to play with children. But her present condition just made her numb. She couldn't relate herself with any worldly feelings and stuffs. She closed her eyes and the incident had flashed upon her eyes.

When she opened her eyes couldn't understand what was the time? Her head was paining so hard that it may be blown out any time. She felt weak and her all over body was paining'..she tried hard to get up from the bed'.but couldn't gather necessary energy to lift her body. She fell down on her bed. She breathed faster and longer and tried again. This time she finally managed to go on her feet but tripped and fell on the center table. The sound of the bumping rose louder and invited him into the room hurriedly.

"What happened? Apu are you alright??" Neel cautiously asked.

But she didn't answer him and stared at him hard. Seeing her rude with him he didn't ask her again. As she staggered to the wash room slowly without saying a word he kept looking at her in surprise.

After 2hrs later she was with her Doctor who is eventually her friend and Neel's friend Derek's wife, Meredith.

"Please Mer don't lie. Tell me what you are suspecting'.."Aparna pleaded to Meredith.

"But Aps before I tell I have to know something about you and him. Doesn't you two are in love with each other??" Meredith asked confusingly.

"Ah'.Mer can we talk about this later please." She told irritatingly, "Please told what have you found after examining me??" She asked cautiously.

"Well'.ah..I found that you two '.." Meredith stopped and frowned for a moment as she had thought what to and how to tell everything to Aparna. Then she coughed once to clear her voice and with all her Medical Professionalism and Doctor like attitude she told, "As per my examination'.you and Neel was physically intimating extremely. The bruises on your body and other marks on your private parts signify that you two had inter course that's too repeatedly from past 7 days. Now you have to tell me what do you hide from me?? Please I am your best friend'." Meredith's last sentences conveyed her care and concern for Aparna which melted her shield. She cried badly and said, "Yes you are right. He raped me'..from last 7 days I was raped by him and that was too without my knowledge''" she broke down completely. Meredith readily got up from her chair and held her tightly.

"Don't worry. I took your blood and serum for examination. Report will come by from today evening. Then we go to the police." She said determinedly.

"No'." she forbade, "We can't go to police. He is now my husband. And NO'..DON'T THINK THAT I WON'T GO TO THE POLICE AS HE IS MY HUSBAND AND I AM A TYPICAL PATIBRATA WIFE. People won't believe that a husband could rape his wife. And they will question me why I don't inform them before marriage? And it's true before marriage I have had enough time to inform my family, police and his Aunt. I could easily call them when I was alone in the dressing room in the church or in the Hotel room when we just checked in. He was out for his work for a long time. I have had my cell and land phone both. But this was my fault to not to inform anyone. Actually I believed his words that he would not force me to consummate our marriage. I was betrayed."

"But if you let him go he won't get his punishment. He will hurt people again." Meredith tried to convince her.

"I want to confront him first. And Mer if I know him well he will not harm anyone not any other girl. He had gotten what he wanted." She uttered with a rigid face.

Meredith noticed her thoroughly and told, "Well I am expecting the drug traces in your blood and urine. After I get the report I can make out by using which drug he was succeeded to make you unconscious for 7 days."

"Thank you Meredith. You really do everything for me. I don't know how do I pay you'" Aparna expressed her gratitude. Meredith hugged her tightly and whispered, "Please don't do anything wrong . and if you want to go to police I will be with you always." She told.

"No'if he did this to me HE WILL BE PUNISHED BY ME. ONLY BY ME NO ONE ELSE." She said. Meredith looked at her. Her jawline became rigid, her cheeks reddened and her eyes were burning in immense fire of hatred . Meredith couldn't utter a word but looked at her cautiously. She never had seen her so angry and her anger was coming from her hatred. She got scared.

"A P A R N A" Neel shouted at her which broke her thought process. She looked at him reluctantly. He rushed to her, grabbed her wrist and pulled her up.

"I have some important discussions with you. Can you come with me." Neel controlled himself seeing enthusiastic eyes of the park people. "We need to talk can we??" He asked her again keeping his voice indifferent.

Aparna noticed him thoroughly and replied, "Yes Neelabjo. Even I too need to talk with you. And I was waiting for you here."

"But I need a quiet place'" Neel was interrupted as she said, "I know. Okay let's go back to the house." She started walking indifferently without looking at him or asking his permission.

Confrontation….between Past and Present

"Welcome Mr. Mitter, Mr. Shepherd. It's pleasure to meet you. I am Sonia Dutt, Ms. Sinhania's Manager" Ms. Dutt smilingly welcomed Neel and Derek when they entered in the conference hall. Neel took a firm look at the conference hall…a long glass table was placed in the middle of the room. The cushioned revolving chairs were situated around that table. At the right side of the table, a led display board was hanging from the milky white wall. The wires which came out form the display board's control panel were connected with a projection machine and laptop. Some files folders and papers were scattered on the table….three laptops were kept on there, some mobiles and tabs were also there near the laptops….but none was at the table. A Lady in grey business suit was standing facing the window keeping her right hand on the chair which was at the top of the table. Her back was shown to the newly arrivals. Neel bit his lips and his jawline became rigid to see that sight. Derek who noticed him asked him, "Hey dude, please don't be angry."

"No Der. I am trying to gain some control over me. She provoked me by her gestures." He said in between his breathe.

Derek looked quizzically at him. He answered him, " Look at her. She becomes thinner than previous. And the way she is standing her back curves are clearly visible." He said angrily.

Derek surprisingly took a look at the lady and then at Neel. He got confused and asked, " But dude…she wears a formal suit like you and me. Where do you find her back curves??" Derek expressed his wonder. Neel said nothing but sadly closed his eyes while shook his head in disagree……

The room was decorated beautifully by her. It was the drawing hall…she herself went to buy plush and comfortable sofas, couches and glass center table. She chose the colors of curtains, cushion covers and the wall. She placed the book cases at the corner of the drawing hall covering with the white veil so that dust could be prevented to cover them. Beside the book case a study table was kept with stationaries i.g. note books, writing pads, pens, pencils etc. and his newly bought Laptop. A wooden chair also kept near the table. And an easy chair was placed near two large French windows which were closed by the glass doors. Though that was the time of March, it was pretty cold at outside. Neel slowly walked towards the fireplace and lit the woods with a matchstick picking the match box from the mantelpiece and turned back at Aparna.

In the meantime Aparna after closing the door settled herself into the easy chair and stared at Neel emotionlessly. Then she coldly said " Now sue…."Her voice's coldness and indifference hurt Neel a lot. His whole soul was shaken by her suddenly changed behavior. He looked at her with tortured face but she didn't pay any attention to his feeling and asked again, "What do you want to say?? Tell Neelabjo I am waiting."

Neel silently brought out a wrinkled piece of paper and pointed out it at her, " What is this?? Apu what the hell are you thinking??" he shouted at her.

She didn't answer him and chose to peep out from the window glass. Neel impatiently walked at her and grabbed her arms very hard and made her stand on her feet. She looked at him. First time he found her eyes were vacant. Usually she said what was in her heart through her beautiful tiny but expressive eyes. Her eyes always filled with twinkling smile with cute sweetness. It became time to time inquisitive and naughty with radiating glow. Her liveliness of eyes was missing from her. He again got hurt but this time he felt very sad for her as he couldn't bear to see his love in this state.

He softly asked her, "What happened my Princess?? Why you are behaving like a stranger to me from last few weeks?" A drop of tears rolled down from his eyes, his voice chocked in cry and suddenly bent on his knees and broke down at her feet. His tall, huge body began shivering in sudden outcome of his suppressed emotions. He covered his face with his palms to conceal his tears. Seeing him crying Aparna couldn't hold her firm, rude persona anymore and she too knelt down in front of Neel and hugged him to console. She rubbed his back to pacify him but at a time she too was crying due to her unbearable pain. But she didn't utter a single word only waited for Neel's calming down. After a long moment Neel gained his soberness and stared directly at Aparna's eyes and asked, "Why do you want to suicide Apu? Why do you want to leave me??What do I do with you?"

Aparna freed Neel form her embrace and tried to get up but this time Neel holding her shoulders kept her down with him. She tried hard but couldn't free herself form his strong hold. Finally she spoke, "I know you are wondering why I have written this poem. Well relax Neelabjo…I won't suicide. I assure you. Actually when I got he confirm news of my Pregnancy from Mer….."

She was interrupted as Neel shook her excitedly and asked " What are you talking about?? You are Pregnant?? That means soon I will be father?? Soon a little Angel Princess, just like your replica will call me 'Papa'?" He was so happy to hear this news that couldn't control himself to express his joy. He sprang up in the air and twirled around taking her into his arm. Seeing him so happy she couldn't speak further. She never saw him so ecstatic like then. After completing his twirls he put her down carefully, hugged tightly and kissed her softly on her lips then on her forehead. She gave him a stern smile in return and slowly tried to leave the drawing hall as she was not feeling well then. But Neel clutched her wrist and held her back again.

The lady turned back towards her audience after wiping her face with a wet tissue. Her manager readily advanced and took the used tissue and rushed out from the conference hall. Neel looked at the lady thoroughly and praised, " Marvelous".

Listening this, the Lady frowned at him. Derek tried to manage the situation by saying, "Actually our CEO, Mr. Mitter love to do joke with people." He also gave a stern smile with that.

"Yeah I know that. But I wish before proceed any further he should take a look in this.." She forwarded a file towards them.

Derek took the file and started to read that while Neel continued to stare at the Lady's tiny but expressive black eyes. Finally he said, " Are you on dieting Apu?"

"A P A R N A" She slowly and uttered her name biting her lips.

"Neel, look at this." Derek asked to read the file cautiously.

"What?" Neel disgustingly looked at Derek and took the file from him. But soon he started reading the file a deep frown took place on his forehead.

"Derek call our civilian partner and enquire about this rubbish" He forwarded the file at Derek. Derek sensed Neel's anger was fuming but he was helpless as Neel was his boss right then. He left the hall without saying a word. Meanwhile Aparna's manager returned and again was sent away to bring some important documents for her. Now in the conference hall only Neel and Aparna were left alone.

"What is this?" Neel asked angrily.

"Umm…the result of your deed." She smilingly answered. Looking at her he remembered something…….

"It is result of your deed. Not mine and don't you dare to call it ours." Aparna finally spoke her heart to Neel.

"What? What the hell are you talking?" Neel shockingly asked her. He couldn't believe in his ears what he had heard just before. "Are you out of your mind Apu? How could you call our baby like this? She is our part, our piece of heart and everything…"

"Yeah may be my piece of my body but not my heart. Because you killed it long ago".Aparna said bitterly. "Don't pretend Neelabjo…..you are a pervert, son of b….."

"A P A R N A…"Neel shouted "Don't you dare to bring my parents in this. It is between you and me. Spare my parents then." He tried to control his anger but his eyes were burning in rage….but he tried his best to gain his cool again…..

"Oops sorry….I should spare them actually…because if they were alive they would have died in shame what had their beloved son done to a girl to whom he claims that he loves her than anything….."Aparna's voice's sarcasm finally hit Neel deeply. He now sank down into the couch slowly. He was shocked to hear his Apu's words for her. His lips were opened slightly in shock and wonder but couldn't utter a word. So Aparna continued, " A few weeks ago didn't you force me to marry you? And then you drugged me to consummate your marriage. And now you are playing a saint in front of me……ouch." She got slapped by Neel first time in her life. She looked at him with immense hatred and left the drawing hall. And in the feeling of guilt Neel punched on the glass center table. The table broke leaving its impact on his knuckle. It started bleeding badly.

"You know self –hurting habit actually sometime helps yours enemy to harm you the most" Neel confusingly looked at Aparna. An evil smile was playing between her lips. But she calmly came over to first aid his injured palm which got hurt again little more after he grabbed one of paper weight with all his strength to control his rage.

"You see you were injured earlier. But your anger and self-hurting habit makes all the thing more worse." Saying this Aparna started applying anti septic on his injury.
