Hi!!
So here is the next chapter, and this one is complete thought unedited.

I am trying to write as much as I can, so hopefully will have faster updates. Hope you guys like it 😊

Sorry, this chapter is a bit longer

Chapter 3

Even if it was for a moment, at least he had managed to brighten her mood. He knew there was no escaping it, but he just hated seeing the worry and stress she would have.

He took a deep breath and began recounting the events that had taken place over the breakfast table. He could feel the tremor of her hand against his chest and hear the slight sobs escaping her. He knew she was on the verge of crying, so he held her trembling hand in his and finished his story.

They sat there in silence, both unsure of what to say or do next. Parth finally broke the silence.

"7"

"Huh?"

"7 tears fell on me and that means you owe me 7 kisses"

Vibha let out a small chuckle and gave him a small shove. But she then pulled him closer to her and held him close.

"Tum kaise...mujhe samajh nahi ata ki tum kaise yeh sab handle kar sakto ho?"

"I don't know myself. I let him hit me because I knew it wouldn't hurt. But I thought that at least maa would feel it. I thought that at least she would react. That she would finally take a step against him, to protect me."

He felt his eyes starting to sting and he avoided looking up into her eyes. He just stared at the sky while trying to stop the shakiness in his breathing. Vibha grabbed a hold of his shirt and let out a small sob. He may have been able to stop his tears, but hers disappeared into his shirt.

Vibha leaned down and kissed his neck. When she closed her eyes against him, he felt a few more tears.

"Dad ko toh kho diya tha par kabhi kabhi lagta ki maa bhi... aap ke phele apne aap ko bohot akele mehasoos karta tha. Aap se phele, lagta tha mere liye koi nahi hai, "

He was about to continue when he felt her nails digging deeper into his arms. When he finally looked at her, he found her completely breaking. It was as if she had given up on trying to control all her emotions, and now was breaking before him. He sat up and held her against him, trying to sooth her. He felt her shaking and sobs begin to slow and finally her breathing seemed somewhat normal.

"Parth...bohot taklif ho rahi hai. Tumhe itna dard mein dekh kar...aur tumhara liye kuch nahi kar pa rahi, itna helpless feel kar rahi hoon. Aisa lagta hai ki pata nahi jaise kuch andar mein tote raha. "

Vibha tried to wipe away her tears, but it didn't stop them from flowing.

"Parth, when something hurts your heart, it seems to break mine"

Parth kissed her cheek and tried to get her to look up at him. She tentatively looked up at him and tried to blink away the oncoming tears.

"I always thought that I could never hurt you. I had promised that you would never be hurt because of me. But I realize now how impossible that promise actually is."

He wiped away the fresh tears. She was still breathing heavily, but at least she had stopped crying and was now focusing on his words.

"But if you hurt because I am in pain...if I can't stop myself from getting hurt then how am I to protect you. But you know what...if I have you in my life then all of it seems a lot more bearable"

Her breathing finally became a bit more normal and the stinging in her eyes lessened. She swallowed the lump in her throat and hugged him. Parth moved against the tree and held her against him for a while. She stills had his shirt bunched in a strong hold and he could tell that she was still somewhat shaken up.

"You know stuff like this has happened a hundred times in the past. But for the first time, it hurts a lot less. I finally feel like I have someone in this world, someone meant just for me. And that somehow makes me believe that I can deal with it all"

"I wish I could stop it. Parth, I wish it could be different"

"I don't. I am afraid if it was different, then maybe I wouldn't have you and then it would be a lot worse. But I do know how you could make it better"

"How?"

"Keep your end of the deal. Endless tears means endless kisses"

Parth smiled as Vibha blushed. He hadn't expected her to keep her side of the deal, especially considering that the mere thought made her blush endlessly. But at least she didn't seem to be on the verge of tears anymore.

Vibha stood up on her knees and pulled his collar forcing him to come closer. Parth's mouth hung open in shock. Vibha gently kissed his neck. She could feel the pounding in his chest as she kissed his cheek and then forehead. And then she kissed him near his lips. He turned his head slightly, bringing them close to touching one another.

"Humhe jaana chahiye"

Vibha whispered against his lips, but he didn't seem to grasp what she had just said. So she repeated her statement.

"Humhe jaana chahiye. It's getting late and I think it might rain"

Parth finally looked away from her lips and stared up at the sky. It was dark, both from the time of day as well as the grey clouds beginning to spread. It was late. Parth got up and helped Vibha up and lead her to his jeep. As Parth was driving back to her place, she continued to stare at the darkening sky. She hadn't told him so, but she had loved his jeep. It was so comfortable and open. It allowed her an open view to the outside and invited in the fresh air passing them by. But today, it seemed like a bad idea. How was he supposed to drive back in an open jeep if it started raining? Well, knowing him, he would drive back regardless of the rain and without even batting an eye. But she didn't want him to.

When Parth parked in front of her building, she could already feel the moisture in the air and see the flashes of light in the sky. She looked at him. It didn't seem as if the coolness or the rain seemed to affect him, like it did everyone else. She sighed. Either, he was really good at controlling his reactions, or it really didn't affect him. She doubted that the second was true.

"Parth"

"Hmm"

"If I ask you to do something, without questioning it, will you do it?"

He looked at her, trying to figure out what she was getting at. But he didn't need to think about his answer.

"Yes"

She sighed in relief. She had hoped she wouldn't get an argument over this, especially considering it had already started drizzling.

"In about an hour or so, mom and dad will go to sleep and all the lights will be off. I will leave the balcony door unlocked, so that you can enter from there again."

"But..."

"Parth, please you said you would do as I asked without questioning it. Please, I don't want you to drive back in such weather"

Parth stared at her lips and brushed his fingers against them.

"If you don't leave, then I may kiss you"

Vibha blushed and fumbled a little trying to get out. She ran into her building after giving him a last look back. She noticed that he hadn't actually given her an answer, but just made her blush even more. She was doing that a lot nowadays, blushing. She ran into her home and walked right to the balcony to look outside. She wanted to make sure that he had actually stayed and not decided to drive back tonight.

He had parked his car at the corner of the street and stood in front of it staring at her balcony. He had spotted her standing there and looking everywhere. He knew she had spotted him because at the moment she broke into a smile.

"Vibha, come out of the rain!"

"Coming dadi"

But before leaving, Vibha gestured to Parth to go into the little coffee shop. He just nodded in response, but made no move to go inside. Instead, he just gestured for her to go inside, but she stood her ground and glared at him. She could be just as stubborn as he was, even in the pouring rain.

"Vibha!!"

Vibha sighed in frustration. She could be just as stubborn, if and only if her dadi didn't keep calling her. Parth watched her finally walk back inside, but not before giving him a last glare. He could have gone into the cafe and out of the rain. But for some reason, he liked standing in the rain and in front of her house. She had thought more for him than anyone else ever had, even more than he himself had. Things that didn't even seem a concern to him, had somehow entered her mind and become her concern for him. So, he liked waiting for her, even in the rain.

The lighted had finally gone off in her house, but it seemed a little late. The rain was coming down hard and his shirt was already soaked. He was contemplating just driving home, but he had made her a promise. So here he was, again turned into a circus monkey climbing the pipe. As he went over the balcony, he spotted an outline on the sofa. For a moment, he was alarmed, but then he recognized the silhouette. He walked over to her and held his hand out.

Vibha had been waiting for him to come for the past half hour. She was mad. She had told him to go inside and out of the rain. But judging by the state of his shirt, he had waited outside and ignored her order. She grabbed his hand and pulled him into her room with furry. She pushed him inside and locked the door behind them. Parth quickly swallowed the words he was about to say as he looked at the anger evident on her face. He took a few steps back.

"Couldn't you just listen to me? Why didn't you go inside?"

Parth opened his mouth to answer.

"Chup!"

Parth closed his mouth without uttering a single word.

"Look at you! You are drenched and will probably catch a cold. Give me your clothes"

"But I am fi.."

"Chup! Why couldn't you just listen to me? Now, give me your shirt"

Parth quickly took off his shirt and gave it to her before she came any closer to him. She threw a towel at him, before she left the room. He stood in front of her mirror and stared at his reflection. There he stood in her room, in only his jeans and a white towel in his hands, and alone. He was physically strong, tall and an anger and attitude to go with that build. But here she was, half his size, and able to scare and boss him around. How had this even happened?

She entered her room again having changed into her nigh salwar and walked past him. She tried to ignore him and sat at her windowsill with her book. He knew that she was still angry, but also felt her stare on him. He was aware of her gaze as he started drying off his arms and chest. He then began drying of his hair, but did so half-heartedly. He knew that she was following his every move from the corner of her eye. Just as he saw her flinch every time it thundered. He probably took longer than necessary to dry of his hair. As much as he hated to admit it, her scolding was to be feared and maybe something to look forward to as well.

He finally turned to look at her. She, instead, returned her complete attention to her novel. She may just be re-reading the same word over and over again, unable to get the image of him shirtless out of her mind, but he didn't need to know that. He threw the towel on the chair and walked to her. She was aware of his movement and his proximity, but showed no signs of giving up her anger. He sat in front of her and stared at her, challenging her to look at him. She still refused to look.

She had the window slightly open on his side, so he could feel the small droplets falling on his skin. He didn't mind the water. She was reading with her head against the glass, while on the other side the water was pouring. He had imagined her exactly like this.

"Mujhse baat nahi kareogi?

Vibha didn't look up, but at least she responded.

"Meri baat tum waise bhi nahi maante, toh baat karne ka kya phyada"

Yup, she was still made. He grabbed her feet and pulled her away from her side and closer to him. She tried moving back, but he kept a firm grip on her. He inched his face closer to hers, and stared intently at her lips. He heard her breathing stop for an instant and felt her still.

"Mujhse kuch toh kaho."

He watched as she bit her bottom lip and felt her breath against his lips. He was about to move even closer when she gave him a hard shove. She retrieved her novel from the floor and went back to her spot and to ignoring him. But he just stared at her intensely and felt himself losing his resolve.

"I am warning you now, mujhe ignore maat karo warna..."

He waited a second to see if she would respond to his warning, but she continued to look at her novel. He lost his patience.

Parth got up and took the book away from her and threw it on her bed. She tried to protest, but he just held her hands. He sat behind her and pulled her against his chest and locked his arms around her. He could feel her grow warmer against his cool skin and struggle against his hold. But it didn't deter him and he let her squirm. He hadn't told her so, but he felt a little chill against his chest. But with her this close, he could feel her warmth sinking into him and the chill disappear. He felt better now.

Vibha sighed in defeat. There was no point in struggling. She was no match to his strength physically. But she could still match him in anger, so she held on to that.

"Why is it so important ki mein baat karoon? Waise bhi tumhe to baat karna accha nahi lagta"

"Kyun ki mujhe aap ki baatein acchi lagti hain"

Her pulse quickened at his words. He may feel cold and hard against her back, but he had the ability to make her warmer. His proximity and words seemed to have too much effect on her. Parth buried his face in her hair and closed his eyes, trying to rest.

"Parth, mujhe jaane do"

Vibha once again tried to push him back, but it made no difference.

"Promise I will follow all your orders. Now please stop trying to struggle. I am trying to get some rest."

He leaned against the wall with her still against his chest and closed his eyes again. Maybe she couldn't physically break out of his hold, but maybe there was another way.

"What happens if someone comes?"

"Everyone is sleeping."

"Yeah, but someone could wake up and find us like this. So let me go"

"You locked the door, so no one can barge in. Now stop trying to distract me. I am not letting you go."

Parth snuck a peek and saw that she had her arms crossed and a pout. She may be in his hold, but it was clear that she was letting him know she wasn't too happy about it or with him. He pulled her hair back to expose her neck. He felt her still as he gently kissed her neck. She finally uncrossed her arms and leaned her head against his.

"Please don't be upset na. Bohot ho gaya, ab toh baat karlo, please. I promise, next time I will get out of the rain."

Vibha reached behind and ran her fingers against his wet hair.

"It isn't about you not listening to me. Parth, aisa lagta hai ki tumhe khud ki fikar nahi hai aur yeh baat mujhe bohot upset karti hai. Kyun tumhe khud ki fikar nahi?"

Parth had always thought of himself a master at controlling and hiding his emotions. He always had been able to do so. But with her, he realized he couldn't. Maybe it was that no one had shown him so much care and maybe it was just some unexplainable phenomenon, but she seemed to have the ability to break every wall he had placed. Even now, just with those words she had uttered, he could feel himself losing another part of himself to her. He kissed the top of her head and brought her closer. Even with her this close, the fear of losing her seemed ever present and was becoming his greatest fear.

"You will always be my first priority. But if it means that I will get another moment more with you then promise I will take care of myself as well. Ab toh upset maat ho"

Vibha smiled and kissed his palm. She turned look at him, but found that he had his eyes closed with his head against the window. She ran her fingers over his face, tracing the grooves of his features and feeling the coldness of the water. She looked him over and noticed the scars on his chest. His skin was so fair, that these scars seemed to blend in. But as she stared feeling his arms and chest, she could feel the openings of the scars. He knew what she was doing and also that it would lead to questions he didn't want to answer right now. But he let her trace his scars, only because he enjoyed the feeling of her fingers brushing against his skin. Even with her softest touch, he felt goose bumps. He just didn't want to talk about the scars right now. He had learned to live with them and they didn't hurt anymore. But he knew they could still hurt her.

"Parth"

"Hmm"

"These scars, how did you..."

Parth opened his eyes. She was staring at him with big eyes and he could seem the rims starting to water. Parth sighed. They just got back and now it seemed they were heading into yet another dark hole. Parth took her hand and placed it against his own cheek. He smiled at her, letting her know that he was okay.

"It was a long time ago"

Vibha was about to protest, but he brushed his thumb across her lips and stopped her.

"I am not avoiding telling you or hiding anything. I promise I will tell you everything, one day. But can't we just have today to ourselves? Please"

Vibha traced the largest scar right beneath his heart and kissed it. She went back to sitting against him while he rested his head on her shoulders. As Parth was just getting back to resting, he felt her jolt and sit up again.

"What happened now?"

"I just remembered, I have to go to Mumbai tomorrow. Manik and my other college friends have a concert and they are forcing me to come."

Parth felt a sudden heaviness. It should be totally acceptable that she took time to meet her friends and other people. In fact, he didn't want her to lose her other relations now that he was in her life. But he also didn't have to be happy about it. So instead of saying anything, he just nodded in acknowledgement.

Vibha didn't want to seem too demanding or bossy. But she also wanted to ask him. She wanted him to be a part of her life, and that included knowing her friends. But wasn't it too much to ask? She played with her fingers as she struggled with figuring out how to ask.

"Parth"

"Hmm"

"Will you, I mean only if you can, will you come to Mumbai with me?"

Oh thank god, she had asked. Parth smiled and leaned closer to her.

"Will you please take me with you?"

She nodded enthusiastically and hugged him. They seemed to both want the same thing, and both seemed hesitant to ask one another.

"Manik will come to pick me up tonight at 6 and their concert is tomorrow afternoon. Then all of us will all stay at his farmhouse tomorrow and come back the day after."

Parth nodded and stared out the window. It had stopped raining and it was still early in the morning.

"It isn't raining anymore. Why don't I head home right now to get some things and will be back here at 6 tonight so we can all drive together?"

It made sense. He would need his things and would be able to get some rest before driving back here and to Mumbai. She just didn't want to see him leave. But still she nodded.

"Meri shirt?"

She blushed deeply. Had she really spend all this time with him, without his shirt? She ran to retrieve his shirt from the dryer, while he just smiled in amusement. Upon her return, he took his shirt from her and put it on. He started buttoning it when she moved his hand away and started doing it herself. She didn't look up at him while she buttoned his shirt. He knew she wanted to ask him something, but was hesitant to. So he just ran his fingers in her hair and let her take her time.

"Parth"

"Hmmm"

"You will come, na?"

He kissed her forehead.

"Promise"

And with that he left.

An hour and 36 minutes had passed since 6 and there was still no sign of Parth. Manik and the rest of them were at the apartment, enjoying being spoilt by her family. But, she had rushed down exactly at 5 and had been waiting since then. She tried to console herself by remembering the fact that he had promised that he would come to Mumbai. Her eyes had been glue to the street and observed every vehicle that passed by. On numerous occasions she found herself being excited by an oncoming black car, only to be disappointed every time it passed her by. She didn't want to admit it, but she could feel the hope breaking.

"Vibha"

She refused to turn to look at Manik. She knew what he was about to say.

"Vibha, we really have to go. We are already every late"

Vibha nodded, too afraid to speak. She could feel the moisture build in her eyes and feel the heaviness in her chest. She continued to stare back as they drove off.

"Parth, where are you?"
