So this is just what I have written so far. I am really very sorry, but I didn't realize how constrained I would be for time. But really trying. And promise to continue to write and will let you know when I intend to end this ff, probably when I get down to zero readers 😛
She sat there with the phone still her hands and leaning against the wall. He was hurt and probably in dire need of rest. But as selfish as it sounded, she wanted him here. She just wished he would have not been so stubborn and let her come to him. Now all she could do was return to the farmhouse and wait for Parth to arrive. She rushed back in to let Manik know that she was heading back to his farmhouse. However, as she entered the auditorium, the band was already off the stage and the announcers were making their closing remarks. Vibha didn't know what the gang had planned for the rest of the evening, but the least she could do was inform them before heading back.
Parth had been to Mumbai numerous times before. He had never really explored it as a tourist and never had any inclination to do so either, but still knew it enough to trace its streets and landmarks. He knew the farmhouse was located on the outskirts and was only an hour or so away. However, his concern wasn't the location but rather the unpredictable weather of this city. He could already feel the temperature beginning to drop as it got darker and even feel a bit of moisture accumulate in the air. But he had enough rain in the past few days and prayed that he would be able to make it before the downpour.
She had headed straight for the farmhouse after informing Manik of her plans. Despite their continuous insistence to join them in touring the city, she had refused her friends. She felt slightly guilty about not joining them. It had been a while since they had the chance to reconnect and even the time she had spent with them on this trip, she had been absent minded. But despite that guilt, it wasn't enough to stop her from running back to wait. And here she was now, sitting on the front porch steps for the past hour and awaiting him. Her eyes glued to the gate and her head rested on her hands on her knees. Despite the lack of rest and the drowsiness that was beginning to set, her heart and head were still pounding. Ever since she had found out that he had been injured, her mind hadn't stopped running. No matter how serious or severe his injuries had been, he had never voiced his concern or pain. He always seemed to take it all in without showing any sign of how much pain he was actually in. He hid it. This disturbed her, but she too was stubborn, and wouldn't let him hide it from her. She could already feel a few droplets fall on her face and sighed in defeat. He was already hurt, but driving in the rain would worsen his health further. Why didn't he just listen to her? Why didn't he just wait and let her come to him?
As he neared his destination, he took in the impressive farmhouse. Despite being hidden amongst greener, it stood out in its white grandeur. As admirable as the farmhouse was, it couldn't hold his attention for longer than a few seconds as he had immediately spotted her. It wasn't hard to miss her in her white suit and sitting right at the front steps. Despite seeming to be awaiting him, she looked lost in her thoughts. Even from a distance he could tell that her eyes were a little less bright and had heavy bags under them. Her body lacked that energetic form, and now was shrunken. He sighed. These few days had really taken a toll on the both of them. Even with a plan, their lives just seemed to take on unexpected turns. He may have been the one with the wounds, but the both of them were paying a heavy price of being separated and the worry that came with it.
He knew the moment in which she had broken out of her thoughts because in that moment her face became alert. He could already see the stream of tears as she jumped from her spot and began to run towards his approaching jeep. He had made it only half way up the driveway before she was in front of his jeep and running towards him. He could feel his own eyes beginning to burn and his heart was already pumping faster. He watched her approach in slight disbelief. Her face was flushed and she looked a perfect mess in white, but at least wore a huge smile as she came to him. But when she was only a few mere steps away from him, she came to a sudden halt and her smile vanished. The happiness that was there only a few moments ago was now replaced by worry and fear, which resulted in him being confused.
She just stood before him and stared at him. He wanted to approach her, and to ask her what was wrong. But before he could speak or even make a move towards her, she mumbled a few words.
"Tum ho na?"
Then it dawned on him. This moment was what they both had been awaiting and now that it was here, they stood in disbelief of it. Parth nodded as he closed the remaining distance. He lifted her hand to his face and let her run her fingers over his features. She tentatively felt the coolness of his skin and roughness of his stubble before letting out a breath and crashing into him. She had a death grip on him, but he disregarded the stinging from his wounds and held her. He realized that she was on her toes just so she could wrap her arms around him, so he placed his arms around her waist to support her. He knew she was petite, but holding her made her seem that much smaller and fragile. He could feel the light rain against his skin, but he felt he could ignore it for a few seconds more before the rain came down even harder. Right now, he just wanted her close enough so that he could start believing that she actually, really was here.
She had buried her face in his chest and let loose every tear and worry onto him. She felt the pounding in his chest and the rise and fall with every breath he took. But still, she couldn't help think that none of this was real. That he was hurt and somewhere else and still out of her reach.
"I am here. I am here, with you now"
