Round 3, this is about the show NBTNMKK. You told me you had become super indulged with it, to ab uske baare mein kuch sawal!

1. Who is your favorite character in the show, and why do you relate to or admire them?

Mohan Bhatnagar... First of all he is very few non-toxic ml of ITv... sometimes even a green forest...

That character had soo much flawed beauty, perfect imperfections,so much pure intent & mad mistakes that I could not help but fall for him..I related to him in many way.. I understood his internal struggles, abandonment issues, cynical attitude, insecurities, self-doubts, fear of rejection, urge to prove himself worthy of other's love..Such an enigmatic personality...

He had a lot of breakdown scenes...the way kunal portrayed them was gut wrenching..

I loved him soo much that his agonies became mine, his joy made me jump in joy

2. What is your favorite moment or storyline from "Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha" that has stayed with you?

Okay so in this show Megha is a widow bringing up two kids with the support of in-laws.. fighting for the justice of his deceased husband who was falsely accused..

Her daughter's(Nanhi) hunt for a superhero ended with Mohan Bhatnagar, a reporter in local newspaper. Who was soo clumsy, carefree & messy that he was called "lafanga Patra-kara" by her mother..but it couldn't stop her from discovering his goodness...& establish the purest & most special bond with him.. Everytime Mohan hugs Nanhi it melts heart...he became a best friend & father figure to Nanhi much before him developing any feelings for Megha..they were magical on-screen with beautiful chemistry & I have not seen a relationship more special than them..

3. How did you discover the show, and what made you start watching it?

This show intrigued me from its first teaser only...

A disheveled looking guy ringing the bell of house(It was like a Mandir ki ghanti)..Door opens revealing two incredibly cute kids looking at him with surprise & calling their mother...Then comes a simple "Mrs Megha Vyas " Hero takes few seconds to take his name..interrupted by a weired & funny ringtone.. tried to take his phone out of his pocket, every possession inside the pocket fell on the floor..Kids were laughing like crazy..He held out his hand to Megha clumsily & she gave a sarcastic look..BG" yeh hai inki dilchasp kahani"

I keep going back to the first promo..It had 4 teasers..

There was a wide genuine smile crept on my face while watching all those promo.. It made me soo excited & curious that I knew I had to watch it..

4. If you could change one thing about the show, what would it be and why?

I love the show a lot but I think in season 1 they could have highlighted Megha's falling in love phase more with more monologues & scenes..

In season 2 I believe for a short time they sidelined Mohan-Megha & started showing the track of parallel characters...but they understood their mistake..& brought them to centre again..

Also the makers seemed really confused regarding the son of Megha in season 2 wheather to make him good or evil..smiley36

Also as I had told you before it was traumatic to see our leads specially Mohan going through soo much pain..

5. Which character's journey or development did you find the most compelling throughout the series?

Nanhi...

Watching her as a kid who was showering her love & care on his Spiderman (nanhi's nickname for Mohan) , then in season 2 after 12 year leap, watching her working as a journalist in the same channel that had Mohan as the editor in chief... Though she didn't reveal her true identity to him but she showed the same spirit & courage while covering a news that Mohan used to do..The belief of throwing herself into the fire if possible to dig out the truth reminded Mohan of himself..

She probably missed her Spiderman the most in these 12 years yet she kept fighting with her feelings & became strength to her mother..There was pain & longingness for his father masked by hatred..

But when he understood Mohan , she again became his biggest support & strength...

Watching that cute little girl growing up to be this amazingly strong woman was heartwarming...

6. Are there any particular scenes or dialogues that you can quote from memory?

My favourite dialogue...(not only due to the words but also bcz of the settings , context & specially the way Kunal delivered it..)

"Kabhi kabhi Dil karta hai ki boldun..haan.Mai apse pyar karta Hun...par keh nahi pata..Kyun ki

Shayad apko khone ka Darr apko pane ki Khushi se kahin zyada hai.."

Uff soo deep...I can't explain how beautifully it was delivered..

7. What emotions does the show evoke for you, and why do you think it resonates with you personally?

This show makes me believe in the power of love..

Love that a mother has for her kid..that gives her the power to fight with the world & strength to give up everything for them..

Pure Love between two very pure individual that becomes deeper than any blood relationship...

Love that a man has for his woman soo Powerful that it gave her the courage to break every shackles of the society...

Mohan loved with sooo much purity..& abandon....that it gave everyone strength, inspiration & life..

His intense longing for Megha gave me goosebumps..when Megha reciprocated it & stood by him even at the cost of cutting ties with her first husband's family..it made me Emotional...

8. Have you ever been inspired by the themes or messages portrayed in "Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha," and if so, how?

Yes...you know a show where FL is a widow..with two kids... fighting to clear his deceased husband's name from a false accusation ..you expect it to be a serious gloomy show..but it began as a feel good show.. with lots of funny & cute moment..

Megha always found happiness in small things..she was always optimistic.. laughing & playing with her kids..she never gave up ..and whatever struggle she faced she never brought it to her kids..

That tells us problems are never hindrances if you genuinely want to live a happy life...you will find it..

Also This show's concept talks about giving a second chance...to love, life and happiness...It is never too late to start over..

9. If you could meet any of the actors or creators of the show, what would you want to ask them?

I would ask

"How challenging/exciting was it to be part of a show that was deliberately subtle, had no fancy clothes & sets or regular cliches to attract Trp aunties..?"

10. How has "Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha" impacted your life or influenced your perspective on certain issues?

Second season made me think a lot...

I realised second chance to life & widow remarriage is a good thing...fine but when kids are involved it is very important for the kids to accept the new addition their life..& if not as father then atleast as family..if they are having any issues in forming an amicable bond then it is the responsibility of the biological parents to help them.. otherwise it is gonna be nightmare not heaven...

11. What drew you to this particular show among all the other Hindi serials of that time?

It has a simplicity to it...& As Mohan said in that show"simplicity me hi sundarta hai.."

Also Great casting ...every actor had a character to play not just caricature...they had their own complexities...

And the power of love that the show explored made it stand out..

12. Do you have a favorite romantic moment of the couple from the series?

A scene inside a farm house...where Mohan & Megha were pretending to be husband and wife...for a particular reason..

There a women taunted Megha for being a widow with kids..how Mohan made a favour on her ..Mohan looked at her & spoke..

" Do itne pyare baccho ki maa hai... isiliye kar Liya..aisi maa jisne Apne baccho Ko sarr utha ke jeena sikhati hai.. Zindagi mein kitni mushkil ho..choti choti chizon me khubsurati dhundh leti hai..pata nahi kaise..

Sach toh yeh hai...

Sahara inhe mujhse nahin mujhe inse Mila hai...pyar inhe mujhse nahin mujhe inse hua hai..."

Megha looked at him..both had an eyelock..

Though they were pretending here but This is the first time Mohan confessed his love even to himself...& He was surprised...

This is what Mohan's love's foundation is.. deep respect & admiration...

13. Are there any side characters or storylines that you wish had been explored further?

There was a character named Guru..who was introduced as a cook to Mohan.but gradually we saw that he is the biggest support that Mohan had with himself through his life ...he understood Mohan..cared for him, loved him...his character stayed with Mohan when he was away from Megha & family in those 12 years...

But he was shown very less in season 2 ..I definitely wanted more of him..a backstory if possible...

14. How has your perception of the characters evolved throughout the series?

As the show progressed..we kept discovering new layers to them..

When the show began.. I did not think Mohan was multi layered...I thought it is Megha's journey, struggle...Mohan is a guy who is supposed to play the love interest.. but then layer by layer kept getting unfolded...so many subtle nuances & mannerism...it became Mohan's journey for me...

Similarly Megha...she began as this widow..mother of two kids who is strong & cheerful and gentle woman..but then I saw how she was burning in anger & irritation with Mohan's antics & shouted on him..then we found her insecurities..fears & doubt..

15. If you could visit any location from the show, where would you go and why?

Definitely the place where they shot that Mohalla where Mohan and Megha were living... according to the show.. Megha's room could be seen from Mohan's window..he used to watch her chori chori..smiley42

16. Have you ever rewatched any episodes of "Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha"? If so, what makes them worth revisiting?

I always go back to watch Nbtnmkk...I have seen it soo many times..

Firstly there is a nostalgia attached to it..it reminds me of a time in my school days where I was so obsessed & in love with this show...& I believe that it is a good show... simply because of the cast and characterization..

Yes...it suffered in terms of quality like every ITV show...but actors were soo good that it made me overlook them..

17. Are there any life lessons or values that you've taken away from watching the show?

Life lessons...a lot...I have already stated..then some more.

1: How to give importance to your work..never take it lightly...& Casually..

2: Foundation of every good relationship must be respect .

3: Always stand before the challenge & face them together with your loved ones..never run away...(like Mohan & Megha should have stayed together & faced the most difficult time of their life.& They both talked about it & both accepted their share of mistakes..

4: It is human to make mistakes... sometimes your one stupid mistake may create huge problem in someone else's life..but then own up to it...get up & do whatever you can do to mend it..like Mohan did..

18. Do you have any theories or predictions about how the series might have continued if it hadn't ended?

Season 2 had an open ending...Mohan had lost his memory....& We were never told if he ever got it back or not.,most possibly he didn't..But even with changed identity he fell for Megha..Megha knew he was Mohan.. ending suggest that they were happy & finally peaceful...

So the series definitely would have focused on Mohan gaining his memory back...Megha helping him to find Mohan inside him...

19. Have you ever connected with other fans of the show on the forum or through some other platform?

No... actually no..

But I was very very pleasant to know that Arpi Dii is also a big fan of Nbtnmkk & Kunal Karan Kapoor..we have discussed about him & that show quite a lot of time..it felt good..

20. If you could be a part of the world of "Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha" as a character or in some other capacity, what role would you want to play?

I would have been a friend of Megha..as Mohan always had Guru around him but Megha didn't have...

No matter how close you are you can't share every feelings with your daughter or in laws... Specially in season 2 Masking soo much love , pain behind a mask of anger must have been soo difficult...she needed someone to vent out...also I would have told her to not give so much pain to Mohan both in season 1 & 2...

Ho Gaya..

I love this show...

Thank you for the questions...smiley27

Bilkul bhi nahin....smiley37

You told me you've graduated in Chemistry to chalo ab iske baare mein batao.

1. What sparked your interest in studying Chemistry?

It was not like that from the beginning..I was mostly neutral initially...but during 10 th standard..I was blessed with an amazing & wonderful teacher..she on the very first day interacted with us in such a nice manner..that I started liking her there..only..Then she was always ready to clear our doubts...smart & sometimes silly..even when she didn't know she used to accept her ignorance & would come back next day with solutions.

She used to motivate me by saying I can do well if I pursue higher study with it..but initially I was studying it & trying to excel in it only to impress her.smiley36

But gradually she sowed interest & I wanted to know the concepts in a deeper way.. started looking for various sources like books, internet etc. She used to tell us about Lavoisier..(father of chemistry) & I wanted to know about more scientists & their contribution...

It began from there...She inspired me..

2. Can you explain a complex chemical concept in simple terms?

As much as I know most people find difficulties in grasping mole concept..

Mole is basically... amount of substance that contains 6.023×10 to the power 23..( Avogadro's number) elementary entities of that given substance.

I think people find it difficult to grasp..but it is very important as it allows us to count the number of atoms or molecules by weighing small amount of matter..

3. What was your favorite experiment or laboratory activity during your studies?

Functional groups recognition using Lassiaigne test..& synthesizing their derivatives...

Also like everyone I also liked to see the coloured solutions & flames..., explosion..

4. How do you think studying Chemistry has influenced your problem-solving skills?

Chemistry focuses on understanding the data given to you, recognise the pattern & then apply critical thinking to solve the problem.

Also during the lab experiment, it doesn't matter if you have given 2 hr or 4 hr.If you became careless a little bit..even by adding a slightly more salt or a single more drop of chemical you won't get the desired result. So it teaches you to concentrate more on the process..

Even when you have done everything right still some atmospheric conditions which is not in your hand can fail you..It grounds you.

All these things helps you to analyse with patience and make informed decisions in outside world problems.

5. Are there any historical figures or milestones in Chemistry that inspire you?

I would say Madam Curie.

She along with Pierre Curie continued working on something that demanded high physical commitment & ultimately turned fatal. But gave us a concept of radioactivity by discovery of radium & polonium..The revolution it brought in medical science in the form of radiation, radioactivity, x-ray..is unimaginable..Yes in making neuclear weapons too..

6. What area of Chemistry did you specialize in during your studies?

Here you have to study Everything .No specialisation in this level.I studied every part in equal measure

7. How do you stay updated with the latest advancements and research in the field of Chemistry?

I truly to as much as I can.By using Google, YouTube or Quora. In Quora I found out about this app called "RESEARCHER".Here you can select your area of interest & journal you are interested in.You get notified about latest major new paper that gets published in your area of interest.

It is helping me a lot.

8. Can you share an example of a real-world application of Chemistry that fascinates you?

I remember a long time back to my mother that you are a very very good chemist. She laughed at me. But i told her that "you cook such amazing food, it is basically all chemistry, different things present in different vegetables which are responsible for the colour & taste. Adding them in right amount.. creating the paste(like ginger/Garlic) in correct composition with right amount of water. You have to take care of how much you heat. Then only can you make a tasty dish. So you are chemist.

It is applicable to every human being who cooks most of them are not even aware that they are performing chemical reactions.

9. What was the most challenging aspect of studying Chemistry, and how did you overcome it?

Our traditional way of teaching chemistry is you have to mug up, & vomit it on the exam sheet. Too much focus on memorization. That actually makes this subject very very volatile. How long can you remember if you mug up like this? So I also suffered . I realised that I don't remember most of the things the moment I come out of the exam hall..Then with the help of some really good teacher..I focused on understanding the concept, detecting the pattern & then lots of practice...

10. Are there any misconceptions about Chemistry that you'd like to debunk?

Most of the people think that it is just mixing chemicals with both the hands in a lab. But it's application & diversities are broader than anything.

Also some think all chemicals are harmful..when many chemicals are infact essential.

With right approach & guidance it can be very exciting..& fascinating subject to explore.

11. How do you think Chemistry contributes to addressing global challenges, such as climate change or healthcare?

Everything around us is ultimately chemistry..So learning chemistry is like haking the world .you can study everything around you.

Climate change: Most of the reagents pushing the change in climate change are chemically active.By studying the reaction happening in the climate we can determine the concentration of these reagents & study of the molecular properties can help us controlling them.

Health care: Apart from drug synthesis the application of chemistry in things like radiation, salination, sanitation, diagnosis through X-ray..is huge. Also studies are still on... analysis of a new virus or discovery of cost-effective methods.

12. Can you recommend any books or resources for someone interested in learning more about Chemistry?

Since you have asked learning more about chemistry...so.. I would say a book called

"A short history of chemistry" by Isaac Asimov. Here you won't know any complex chemical concepts...but he will take you through some most important discoveries in chemistry with some fascinating, funny & also tragic stories of discoveries.

You definitely develop a different perspective about this field.

13. What advice would you give to someone considering pursuing a degree in Chemistry?

Try to enjoy it as much as you can.. Study & learn about the topics from whatever source you have... Understand the concept .make notes....then practice... practice..

There will be days when you might not understand something...but still stay focused & disciplined.& Enjoy the process of exploring...

14. Have you ever had any memorable or amusing experiences in the lab?

Amused by my own mistakes..I have made some stupid mistakes during titration..Like forgetting to close the stopcock in a burrete & pouring chemicals (KMnO4) inside it. Only to realise that it is coming out from the other end..Then fixing it asap & earning a glare from ma'am.

Then another time ended up sucking the chemical through pippette...

Then coughing for few moments after smelling hydrogen sulfide.. smells like rotten eggs..

15. What do you think is the most exciting frontier in Chemistry research today?

Most exciting would be Green chemistry that focuses on developing environment friendly products & their synthesis. Biochemistry for understanding biological processes..

16. How do you think Chemistry intersects with other scientific disciplines?

Chemistry intersects with other scientific disciplines like

Physics: In things like study of atomic and molecular structure, energy interaction & behaviour of matter in different conditions

Biology: Chemical processes relating to or within living organisms like metabolism, genetics, etc..

Environmental science: Behaviour of pollutants, chemical reactions in climate, components of soil & phenomenon like water pollution etc..

Geology: Closely related to study of composition & reaction on earth surface & also other planets..

It intersects with planet chemistry like that.

I have definitely forgotten so many things & as application is huge.

17. Can you describe a project or research study you worked on during your studies that you found particularly rewarding?

I had worked on "carbon capture, utilisation & storage"..(ccus)for one of my semester project

Capture: It involves capturing CO2 emitted from various sources like industry, vehicles,... directly from air..

Utilisation: Using captured CO2 in various purposes

Storage: Storing these captured CO 2 in underground geological formations, preventing it from entering into the atmosphere & contributing to global warming or climate change..

Well I got to learn a lot while working on it & in the end got good marks also.. which was also good..

18. What are your thoughts on the ethical implications of certain chemical discoveries or applications?

Of course..There should be responsibility.Yes..it is important to use research to expand knowledge & new discoveries but it is also important to consider potential impact of that discovery on society, environment.Infact many scientific organisation have guidelines & ethical standards to help scientists..but scientists can only do that much...make sure that his intention is right & the process of research and discovery is not causing any severe damage.

But another part is Is the application part is in the hand of scientists? When Einstein discovered E,=mc2 or Madam Curie discovered radium..they definitely didn't wish to give world nuclear weapons..but is it Einstein's fault?

Also sometimes people talk about religion etc & define any change as unethical..

Soo it can be tricky...

19. How do you think Chemistry education could be improved to engage more students?

Chemistry teachers definitely needs to be more patient...allowing the students to struggle, understand then learn...it is complex so teachers need to bring that complexities down to students...with 3d projection, lab activities & other fun activities with rewards which are not solution focused...process should be emphasized...

Also make the students engaged & show them that you are excited to take their class..

20. In your opinion, what are the biggest challenges facing the field of Chemistry in the coming years?

Definitely the biggest challenge is going to be finding more sustainable & environment friendly ways to produce & use chemicals...like discovery of catalyst or material that can reduce the adverse impact on environment...

As environment pollution is such an important & burning issue right now..

Amazing answers! smiley32

Teachers certainly play an important role in developing a student's interest in their subjects. They can really make or break a student's potential. So glad you found someone who encouraged you to take interest in Chemistry.

I don't think many people will view Chemistry the way you do. I love how you can see patience and concentration in your lab experiments. Your comparison of your mother to a chemist gave me new perspective. Also, by your logic even I am a chemist! smiley36

Talking about chemistry in other fields, I've recently finished chapters on Psychopharmacology and Neuropsychology and I found quite a lot of chemistry going on in the brain. Be it the transmission of neural impulse through synapse using chemical neurotransmitters or prescribing drugs for neuro-psychiatric disturbances of brain.

Also, very recently I understood the role of Sodium and Potassium ions in basic neural communication and I have a different perspective on these micronutrients now.

I left conventional science in 10th, but all of it comes to haunt me till date. Be it Psychophysics, Psychopharmacology, or Biopsychology. smiley26

Yes.... ultimately it's chemicals that affects our mood & behaviour... neurotransmitters like serotonin, dopamine, oxytocin, vasopressin etc...

Also i had read some scientists even has said that mental illness results from problems with communication between the neurons in the brain..like level of serotonin is lower in individual who have depression..& others have said it is not as simple as one chemical being high or one being low... lots of chemicals are involved.. working both inside and outside of the nerve cells..& so basically it is complex...

Sodium & potassium ion are very very crucial ...

Also I am glad that you are exploring them now....smiley36....very interesting...
