Hi bestie, since I am going to be busy this week, poore hafte ke questions tujhe ek din mein de rhi hun.
Jo hukum...
Chalo starting with some general questions:
1. If you could switch lives with someone for a week, who would it be and why?
Definitely my mother...I have always looked at her with complete admiration & awe..The way she manages to bind our family together & always understands our needs even before uttering has been amazing...but sometimes I feel I fail to reciprocate that love with same empathy & understanding..I would like to understand her more...so it is maa..
2. What's the most interesting documentary you've watched recently, and what did you learn from it?
I don't know about interesting but I saw a documentary on Netflix recently... called" "The Indrani Mukherjee story; buried truth.."..I have to say a very discomforting watch..it shook me to the core...I assume you know about the case..
One thing you can learn by looking at that woman is what kind of a person you should not be at any cost... ambition is a good thing...a driving force but if you go on pursuing it without any moral compass..then you will end up becoming a demon...
3. If you could have any fictional character as a mentor, who would you choose and what advice would you seek?
I think "Sid" from movie "Dil chahta hai"..
I would ask his advice on how to hold on to your core characteristics with pride & confidence even when the entire world thinks of you as a weired misfit? & How to love someone soo selflessly that you don't expect anything, not even love in return? & Yet be happy with it..
4. What's a hobby or interest you've always wanted to pursue but haven't had the chance to yet?
Yaar... I love dancing...but I have never learnt dancing due to various circumstances . But I will definitely someday.. Though dancing is more than a hobby for me
5. If you could invent a new flavor of ice cream, what would it be and what would you name it?
I have always wondered what if an ice apple flavoured ice cream would be made..
Also my father likes the combination of chilli and raw mango..so I would like to see how it would go in Ice cream..
6. What's the most memorable coincidence that's ever happened to you?
I don't know.. about most memorable but I truly believe my life's best memories were in my childhood...so whenever I come across anything unexpectedly that reminds me of my childhood makes me very happy...
7. If you could visit any place in the world that's currently inaccessible to tourists, where would you go and why?
Since I could visit any place in the world..soo Mount Howe, Antarctica..the southernmost mountain on earth...
But I would also love to visit Northeast India since it has a lot of untapped potential when it comes to tourism.
8. What's a skill you admire in others that you wish you could master?
I really admire people with great writing skill how they can make people go through gamout of emotions simply with few words...I consider it highest level of art & I wish I could master it..
9. If you could communicate with one species of animal, which would you choose and what would you talk about?
Well every animal but I think..
Dog...as they are the one who observe human being the most..both as pet dogs or simply as street dog..
I would talk about what they observe about human being...do they realise when their master is going through a difficult time?
10. What's the most unexpected gift you've ever received, and why did it mean so much to you?
I was living in college hostel & in the last days my juniors gave me a yellow colour drawing sheet..idk what is it called...but it had my photo on it.. beautiful messages..
Expressing how much they love me..& are gonna miss me...so it is beautiful & overwhelming..they were incredibly sweet..
You feel good when you realise that you have managed to touch soo many lives..
11. If you could instantly become an expert in any field, which field would you choose and why?
Film making....
I am grown up watching , breathing & analysing movies...so understanding it's technicalities are gonna give me new perspective...I would be able to admire it a lot more..
12. What's the most memorable piece of advice you've ever received, and who gave it to you?
" If you don't try you will never know what you are truly capable of....you think you can't but what if you can? How do you know that without trying?"
My mother had said this to me...
13. If you could have dinner with three historical figures, who would they be and what would you discuss with them?
Three historical figure...
Prithviraj Chauhan...: I would like to know why did he let Mohammed Ghori go after defeating him in1st Tarain war...
Netaji Subhash Bose: About his conflict with Gandhiji..what transpired after WW 2. Did he die in that plane crash..?
Then Chanakya : Discussion about Geopolitics... about human psychology...how to deal with conflicting emotions & carry out your duties..
we would discuss about what right or wrong they did that impacted Indian history..
14. What's the most meaningful tradition in your family, and why is it important to you?
Having at least a meal together... mostly it is dinner...we all sit...chat about our entire day...our experiences..we share everything with eachother...solid family bonding. Time..
15. If you could live in any fictional universe, which one would you choose and what would you do there?
I would love to live in a Rajashri cinematic universe...like in the world of Hum apke hai kaun...where there is a lot of goodness, people are nice, Emotional & kind.Know to accept responsibility if things go wrong... basically an feel-good positive world..
There I would look at myself in the mirror again & again. As I am gonna look very beautiful..
..then in those movies they never left any occasion to sing & dance..I would enjoy myself to the fullest there..
16. What's a goal or aspiration you have for the next year, and how do you plan to achieve it?
I really want to celebrate next year Shivratri at Coimbatore Isha foundation... with my family & I want to do it with my own money...
So I am trying to get a job which will give substantial amount of earnings... trying to save... this is the first step...
17. If you could be any fictional character for a day, who would you be and what would you do?
I would be Rani from queen... I don't think any other movie has challenged the patriarchal norm of the society like that movie did.. I would continue doing what Rani was doing.. explore a new place..make some new friends... create some solid memory that will stay with me all my life...
18. What's the most fascinating thing you've learned recently that surprised you?
As in a fact that I recently learnt...?
That there is a community in Rajasthan that celebrates death & mourns birth..
About myself...that I can create an entire universe inside my head & I can live there very happily with such involvement that it starts messing up with my emotions in real world...
19. If you could have any job in the world for a day, what would it be and why?
Any job...then probably doctor or anything related to health sector..then only you can touch & impact maximum people's life in a single day
20. What's a question you've always wanted to ask someone but haven't had the courage to?
My parents...I have observed my mother & father's relationship very closely..seen them at their best & their worst as well..
So I always wanted to ask them "Did you both ever like ever regret marrying eachother?"
But I never asked...as I am not ready for the answer...
Ekk hua...
Abhi panch aur...but I love you...

Now, since you lovee movies so much, here are some questions on that!
1. What's your all-time favorite movie, and why does it hold a special place in your heart?
Tough.. .so i would name one movie of Srk i.e Swadesh..It is a movie completely made from heart..a beautifully made internal movie......a journey of transformation..
This movie is patriotic at its basic level,no jingoism...but it emphasizes on looking inward at the places where we are not soo amazing , then rolling up the sleeves & digging in to make them go away...
Inspite of being Mohan's journey...this movie writes the Geeta as such a mature, confident, intelligent & strong woman & their lovestory is one of the most progressive in Hindi cinema...
2. If you could star in a film, what type of role would you want to play, and who would be your ideal co-star?
A movie about a grown woman achieved success in terms of career & finance..One day looking at her school annual function pics; she remembered her passion about dance...wanted to pursue it that she could not learn earlier..searched for a Guru..faced all the challenges with his guidance & manages to achieve success..
I have always admires the way Mr Kamal Haasan performs classical dance on screen... I always remain in awe..so I would like to have him...plus will get to learn a lot from his vast experience & knowledge...
3. What's your favorite Bollywood song, and what memories or emotions does it evoke for you?
One song i associate with my life would definitely be "Ae Zindagi..gale Laga ke"...This song is an emotion...You know there was a phase when I was in that self pity mode & asking why me.I was basically not very happy with my life..but gradually I started appreciating my privileges.. understood how blessed I am..I used to listen to this song everytime..It was my love letter to life. I always try to follow the lyrics :embracing all the gifts of pain, waiting with open arms for life to embrace me... This song reminds me of my own journey.....
4. If you could visit any shooting location from a movie, where would you go and why?
Movie from 1960; Mughal-E-Azam..
I am very fascinated... today we have modern instruments... advanced technology for those period movies..Yet some movies manages to come up with such trash product..but how could a movie from 1960 (shooting in 50s)manage to achieve such brilliance.. I want to see how they shot war sequences..how they shot those spectacular songs that still inspires modern filmmakers like Mr. Bhansali...Moving with such big cameras..it definitely would be an example of passion, determination & magic..
5. Who is your ultimate celebrity crush, and what is it about them that you admire the most?
Crush would be SRK when I saw him as Raj in DDLJ
...& I found him sooo cute there & he is still very very pleasant to eyes..the way that man carries himself on screen... amazing screen presence..
but then I got to know him through his off-screen interaction...SRK embodies warmth, wit, intelligence, charm, entertaining personality and very very sharp.. Epitome of confidence.. someone who is so comfortable with himself & his feminine side that he didn't hesitate to cross dress in an award show..He speaks amazingly.. after his every personal interview I start to like him more..The respect he has for woman shines in his eyes, reflects in his every interaction & women respond beautifully to it.. Magnetic..
6. What's the most underrated movie that you think more people should watch?
A lot of movies in mind..but Tumbaad..A folk horror movie... period movie set in a little mysterious place with a spine-chilling vibe... cinematography, casting, top notch..
7. If you could remake any movie with a different cast or storyline, which one would it be, and how would you change it?
There is a Bengali movie called "Nayak" by Satyajit Ray...It has the tale of a movie idol who despite his success & fame haunted by solitude & guilt..pines for true connection...he took on a train Journey.. different classes of people had different kinds of reaction watching him..A journalist met him...while talking to her he got a very important introspection & vent..He exposed himself..& the journalist chose the human connection over her job..
I have imagined SRK as this superstar & someone like Deepika Padukone as the journalist...a woman who has irrestible aura..who can look strong but be utterly vulnerable..
8. What's your opinion on the current state of films compared to the classics?
I would not say better or worse as it is subjective...there were good & bad movies in every era... actually now is a really good time as a movie like Jawan & Jara hatke Jara bachke..both did well last year...I personally feel most older movies (30s to 70s) were better because good movies of those times were based on actual literature...hence chances of plagiarism is quite less . Most of the directors of today draw their inspiration from Hollywood ..mitti ki khusboo is missing most of the time...
I also miss those colourful songs & dance numbers...that celebration & abandon is missing in today's numbers..they are too technical with steps & acrobatic...grace is missing...
& Stalking culture needs to goo...
Also writers need to be more encouraged as ultimately a good script that plays a very very important part in a good movie...
9. If you could attend any awards show, which one would you choose, and what would be your dream red carpet outfit?
Since you have asked red carpet so a commercial award...
I would like to represent an Indian movie in Oscars.. outfit definitely something indian..infact I would like to wear a Sambalpuri saree...with unique daping style to give it a western touch..
10. What's the most memorable dialogue or quote that has stuck with you over the years?
It is from a movie called Anand
"Zindagi lambi nahi badi honi chahiye"..
11. If you could witness the making of any movie, from script to screen, which one would it be and why?
Again so many...but
Bengali movie"Charulatha"..by Satyajit Ray...This movie is less about the words spoken & more about their inner turmoil & thoughts.. Within First few minutes..in the first scene only he shows Charu's world..you dive into it.. immediately sense the lonliness around her & feel sympathetic...a movie made from heart but technically soo brilliant that Ray himself calls it his most technically fine movie...I want to see how much is it in script how much is on set...
12. What's your favorite Bollywood dance sequence, and have you ever tried to learn the choreography?
"Pyar Kiya toh Darna kya" from Mughal-e -azam...& I have tried to learn the choreography.. I am still trying to learn those intricate Kathak moves
13. If you could have a Bollywood-themed party, what would be the dress code and what activities would you include?
Dress code would be from Retro Era..
Activities...games like..
Antakshari, Dumb Charade where you have to guess the song with hook step...
Passing parcel.with a song of 60s in BG..& Fun task related to it..
Like playing a scene by muting the sound..& guests will have to come up with their own funny dialogues for the scenes..
Dance on the song..
14. What's a movie that you initially didn't expect to enjoy but ended up loving?
Jab Harry met Sejal... reviews were very bad...some of my friends just dismissed it as a snoozefest & adviced me to not watch it.. I had to watch it as SRK & Imtiaaz Ali combination can't be missed but with low expectations...
I ended up loving the movie.. Srk's intense portrayal...the longingness to belong..i loved it.Yes i could see flaws...but love is more..
15. If you could create a movie crossover with characters from different films meeting, which characters would you choose and what would the plot be?
G one, Krish & joker..
Joker from the dark knight escapes from Gotham dungeon..his next target is India.. Mumbai ..
There was a big event inside Taj hotel... Priya (Priyanka Chopra from Krishh)..was covering that..news..
Sonia (Kareena Kapoor), Prateek are present there..They have come here by hiding it from G-one..as he didn't want them to come but they came as it was an invitation by Shekhar's friend...
So Joker broke into that place & took them under captive..
G-one came after searching for both Sonia & Prateek..Krishh also came after watching it in news .. they tried but couldn't enter into that hotel..
Then they joined hand..to defeat joker & free every captives...
SRK & Hritik bromance...
16. Who is your favorite movie director, and what do you admire most about their work?
In hindi, I admire Imtiaaz Ali & Sanjay Leela Bhansali...
They have that streak of maddness inside them...that makes them soo exciting..both of them believe in projecting the kind of love that can drive you to madness..empowers you to stand against the world...
17. What's a movie that always brings tears to your eyes, no matter how many times you've watched it?
Taare Zameen par...It is soo compelling I can relate to his struggle.we all can in one way or another .I could experience the trauma of getting isolated & misunderstood along with Ishaan. it evokes the human qualities like empathy , compassion inside me..takes me on a spiritual journey...& Tears flow everytime..
18. If you could have an actor or actress as your mentor for a day, who would you choose and what advice would you seek from them?
Amitabh Bachchan... Advice would be how to stay relevant decades after decades..That man at the age of 80 is still relevant, busier than most young actors..,still adapting himself to changing times with working hard on his passion with perfect work ethics intact..
19. What's your opinion on the influence of Bollywood on global pop culture?
Since you have asked about bollywood...
I think today bollywood is no longer just Buffon dancing around tree .. Bollywood is one of the most prolific filmindustry & world has acknowledged it..it is a powerful softpower to promote our culture...& tradition around the world..
Bollywood movies speak Hindi which is spoken in one country yet around 40% of our business come from outside..yes Indians are everywhere..that helps but the curiousity is real..Indian film industry is only one which has amalgamated pop music & cinema...we tell stories thorough songs..
20. If you could time travel back to any era of movies which decade would you choose to experience and why?
I think time from late 40s to 60s..It was a difficult period for Indians.. Independence struggle,, trauma of partition, famine & a sense of loss was there in the environment.. British left us after draining us completely..so poverty was there.. official were fearing loss of morals among citizens.Movies began depicting that..how city life can be both dream & nightmare..heroes like Dilip Kumar,Devanand ,Raj Kapoor became aspirational figures who upheld their values inspite of struggles... Amazing women like Nargis, Madhubala, Meena Kumari portrayed strong female characters..we attained global recognition with movies like Awara & Mother India..
Movies like Mughal-e-azam showed what we can achieve with our limitations..
In short classic case of art uplifting a doomed & almost deperssed society..very exciting..time.
Ho Gaya...
Maja Aya..thank you
Love the answers!
I love both Ae Zindagi and and Pyaar Kiya To. I used to dance to the later as a kid, doing my own weird version of classical dance.
Tumbad was spine chilling. The characterisation of the monsters in the well was so good, it disgusted me and made me afraid at the same time.
I love SRK-Hrithik both and it would be such a delight to watch them on screen together! K3G is my favourite movie for a reason.

What branch of chemistry have you studied? Organic/Inorganic/Analytical/Physical
Here there is no specialisation...you have to study Every branch of chemistry..
Recomend me some films in your native language
Kya bolun? All the classic Odia movies were superior..they were taking inspiration from Odia literatures & told stories that talked about our own soil..& garnered national attention..
Then it just had a severe downfall...
Obsession with South remakes, Lack of effort in capturing the socio-political structure of state & poor technical work that just looks like cash-grab not some art..or craft..
But recently there was a Odia movie called
"Daman"..
true story of a doctor posted in a tribal area of district called Malkangiri..it is dubbed in Hindi as well..It has made all the Odia movie watchers sigh in relief.. Storytelling is linear but definitely impactful.... Everything shown in that movie had actually happened..
There is another movie "Pratiksha"
