Raat baaki, baat baaki...

Weddings, weddings everywhere, too many details (not) to spare! And in all that, one of the most important facets of weddings, is almost neglected... we aren't talking baby blues yet, but the wedding night. Whether it is a love marriage or an arranged match or you have been living together for donkey's years, the first night has its own significance. We asked some celebs to share their experiences about their first night—things to do, not do and definitely give a miss to or try out!
"After the ceremony, cousins landed up, champagne and cake, it was 4.30 am! We reached the room and found our sisters had done up the bed in white sheets and flowers—it looked so pretty. But when we went to sleep, we realised that satin sheets are really hot to sleep on! So at 5.30 am in the morning, we were changing sheets and spreading the cotton linen instead. I would definitely say avoid satin on your wedding night!"

"I had numerous pins on my dress and my hair. So for an hour, Manav was helping me take off those pins. Then we have this ritual where a mouli is tied on the bride's waist and the groom is supposed to take it off. My cousins had tied the knot so tightly that Manav couldn't take it off and that too took a lot of time. Then, I had to ask a girlfriend of mine to come into the room and open it for me! After all this excitement, we were exhausted and we took off the clothes and went to sleep. I did not wear a ghunghat and there were no glasses of milk! That's so filmy."

"We had a Christian wedding in the morning and a nikah in the evening. Our friends kept loitering about till 5.30 am! By the time we reached our room, we were absolutely tired. Then, I realised I was not carrying my night suit. So I had to wear the salwar kameez I wore for my nikah to bed. Not very comfortable!"
