"to learn about a particular culture you look at their art forms"

As being a foreigner to India, Uttaran is the one and only show i ever watched. Watching this drama has taught me many things about India and its culture. Point me wrong where I am wrong because these are the things that these directors (CVs) are showing to a stranger like me. People like me who are unaware of India's culture look onto these arts form to learn from it and here is what i have learned:

Things i learned from the show:
-Indian is full of corruption from police, to doctor everyone is after money...at least that's what the show has shown.
- Woman are prime evil in this world full of jealousy.
-Evil wins over good no matter what...even God can loose in front of evil.
-God do not exit as good people always suffer by following Him and bad deeds have no punishment.
-Woman is just a baby making machine, if she is unable to do so she is a symbol of hatred.
- Elderly have no sense of shame and continue to act bad.
- You can cheat and get away easily, cheat on ur family, husband and ur love.
- Woman is treated like garbage when her husband dies.
-Husband is more bound to his family than his wife, what their wives want or desire do not matter.

Things i learned from this forum about india:

- people are of extreme respect.
- People are very welcoming and full of manners.
- Indian are well educated...well knowledge

Again, I am not trying to offend anyone but these are my learning through this show. Correct me if i am wrong.

Xavi, yes, this is exactly what has been conveyed through this junk serial...😕...but that's not the case at all in reality...the writers/directors are some sadistic insane people dishing out this crap who have no idea how to write/direct a good, logical, & entertaining story.
Most of the serials shown are highly dramatized for entertainment value, that's all, none of this happens in real life, atleast not in a such a negative way shown on screen.

Xavi, Please don't take lessons from this non sense show...this is not India and it's culture...cv's are showing things to get TRP's...
Corruption is there in India but not like in this show...I can't believe any Indians will take money and replace a new born baby...
I can't beleive people like nani exist in India...

xavi, I had sworn to stay out of this forum but for your thread, I am making an exception.
Much of what you say is what is portrayed in this serial but there are areas which have a touch of truth. However, India is not as bad as what Uttaran has decided to show us in its mistaken idea of creativity.
I think the best way to judge is through the diverse friends you have made, their ideas, their values and above all your own conclusions based on that.
I love my country but that does not make me blind to its faults but please do not judge us or India through these perverse serials where writers have no sensitivity, no knowledge and all they care about is how to garner TRP's writing the lousiest storylines possible and creating monster like characters, weepy characters and spinless characters. The biggest mistake we can make is to confuse reel with real.
Finally, I think every country in the world that their share of the good with the bad and India is no different. One thing I can say for sure, there is not a country in the world that can compete with India for its hospitality and I hope you give all your forum friends the chance to prove this by visiting us.
warm regards dear.

my point of making this thread was to show directions how they are leaving a negative and image of India through their nonsense show...they need to advertise the goods that their possess not the opposite...😭
i agree every country is flaw full...nothing is perfect but these shows are casting negative imprints on foreigner...they need to stop ruining the name of India...
I have made many friends here and not even one has ever bothered me personally...ur hospitality is one in a million thing..and u should all be proud of it...😃

Xavi, its not your fault for what you are thinking. UT Cvs have messed up a lot of minds...😡what they are portraying is just a reflection of THEIR sadistic illogical senseless minds...not a reflection of India. I am an Indian and stay in US but my heart is in India. There is corruption, pollution, traffic, politics, greed, jealousy and all that but not to the extent shown in this show. There is complete lack of humanity in this show unlike in the real people of India who are warm and humane.
I suggest you stop watching this show before it disillusions you completely. Not worth a penny. Instead enjoy your life and be happy😊
