When Tina Dutta and Rashmi Desai, the protagonists of Uttaran appeared on the opening episode of Star One's Laughter Ke Phatke, the bad vibes between the two were quite evident. Cementing the rumours of their rivalry, the girls were seen looking quite uncomfortable in each other's presence.

The channel invited Tina, Rashmi and Nandish Sandhu, who plays Veer in Uttaran, to perform at the launch ceremony of Laughter. According to a source, just when the programme was about to start, Tina refused to share the stage with Rashmi and Nandish. "Tina told us that she wouldn't perform with Rashmi and Nandish. They later managed to convince her to be a part of the performance on the condition that she wouldn't be seen along with Rashmi in the same frame. The act was framed in such a manner that Tina entered the performance only in the end. Even during the rehearsal, Tina and Rashmi stayed away from each other," reveals the source.

Nandish too was torn between the two girls. "He was trying his best to keep both happy," adds the source. When contacted, Tina however denied the news. "I refused to perform because I was unwell. I joined in later because the performance would be incomplete without me."
