I managed to find my old frineds numbers ( TWO OF THEM ) and called them and talked to them......I was so happy......

Thanks every one - we are planning to drive to Madras next week end
to spend some time with the family. If some one pointed a gun at
Roja's throat and asked her to cry.... she just can not.... it has been
drilled in to her that "crying is weakness" - so she is drowning herself
in hard physical labor - hope that helps -

Atina, good thinking - situations like this always give us a jolt and we
wake up from our deep slumber - Mr.R was touching base with a few
of his friends last night - forgetting his business skyping for a change !!!
Roja is moving around a lot and it is possible that she is out of the
network area - this ICD yard is about 1 1/2 hrs away from the city -
she is going again today to haul the container home - habbaaa

She will call you herself - soon. When Roja is away, all of you take care of yourselves , ok??? Love u all , stay safe , guys.

@Roja, yes, you are right, when you are doing a lot of work, it is possible to forget some of our grief.

Btw, I noticed that you too said Madras instead of Chennai. I am glad to see that, because for people like me, who left Madras while it was still Madras, it is so hard to remember to call it Chennai, feels like some place other than what was my home (and still is!).

u bet Eljay - u should have seen the way Roja braved the steel
ladder and walked in to the container as if it was some one's
drawing room - the customs guy wanted to open a carton of books -
Roja could not trust any one when it came to her books - Mr.R was
agape and so was the customs guy - they did not know that Roja
was driven by 2 forces - her books and her mental agony - the customs
guy felt that he could not mess up with this maddie any more and said
"thanks mam, that was some feat" Roja just grunted and said " any
more cartons to be ripped open??" Silence from all quarters - Roja's head
reeled while coming down - ladddeeerrrrssss uh huh

thanks Atina for the call - felt good to hear your voice. Roja should be back to
IF some time by the end of next week - Inshah Allah.

@ Eljay - it will always be Madras for Roja - the day honey and milk
start flowing in the river Koovum Roja will think about calling it Chennai😉
