as a tv watching audience I will say this-
the nov-dec episodes were brilliance udaan attracted many new viewers in that time..also at that time the twists used to be short and nice sub tracks were there. all this was enough to sustain a large viewership (including me) to go through the bandhua track..yes towards the end it was a bit monotonous but still I remember we got 2.5 ratings in the last holi episodes..then for the reasons best known to cvs they decided to start baby track-2. my family stopped watching udaan then on tv beucase primarily the level of cheapness in that track ( sorry I don't have other word to use for it). there are peope who defend it but suraj-imli staying in one room is gross!! and the entire touchy scenes they share is horrible!! my parents said that it is better to watch naagins bhoots than all this because atleast we know it is unreal, we can mock the horrible vfx have a laugh about it and atleast they have their moral values in right place!!

as an online viewer why people stopped watching...
tamarind.
useless screenspace given to tamarind
how her act of proposing her BIL and staying with suraj in one room is brushed under the carpet and she is shown as soo Mahan..the word disgusting feels respectful if used for her.
chakor apologising to suraj whereas it should have been the reverse. my love for meejay even couldn't make me watch those two weeks !!

I think the problem began with the suraj-Imli car scene. It was all downhill from there. Like starsoul said, still no explanation for it.
Then came the bachuva track. Completely illogical, it was ended as ridiculously as it was begun.
Then they expected KN to grab eyeballs, didn't work because of so much negativity in the story.

And there is one more mission for Sukor; last year Oct- DEC time,to find evidence against KN and send him back to jail.
But now, cvs seems completely forgot about it,KN roaming freely and trying to take his control back over everyone.
But no discussion among Sukor or attempts to find proof against him to send back to jail.

Exactly, even when they went to free the children, no mention of calling the police. And when was the last time Chakor came up with a plan and implemented it?

The show has become more about feelings than action and the negativity and suffering is a big turn off for the viewers.

I agree! earlier they wanted to put him to jail and now they had forgiven him!
its like everything gets twisted for the convienience of the track!
I know logic is hard to find in daily soaps but if suddenly the writers shut their brains it is hard to accept!
after the holi epsiodes it looks like a new set of writers come for every episode..only thing which is fixed is the faces of the characters!!

I can't understand how KN is still in haveli and everyone is behaving as if nothing happened. Even the end of the gun factory was unsatisfactory. Instead of spending time on heartbreak and separation they could've developed these tracks better.

There's many reasons why viewership decreased. Bad writing is the main reason ... previous tracks aren't closed, when new tracks begin. Loopholes in older tracks are still glaring at us viewers, but writers aren't the least concerned!
Side characters are given too much importance, such that they hog screen-space! No-one wants to watch them, nor have the patience to! It's easier to change the channel ... and more often than not, people ARE NOT switching back to Udaan afterwards (as is the case in my family)!
Character inconsistency is another prime reason ... strong characters are now brainless, they're easily fooled and manipulated! People don't want to see the bad guys winning all time ... we're on the good guys team; writers must stop portraying them as weaklings!!
Of late, the show has been lacking in HAPPY TRACKS. Too many twists, with too many negative tracks are not favourable!!!

Yes,the show lacks positive/happy tracks.
And the promos were most of the times negative ones.
It will never attract new viewers.
They never promoted Sukor confession like they did with ishq ka safar.
No news about Newzeland track now.

GIVING NO IMPORTANCE TO SUKOR
i think IMVAAN r main lead and SUKOR r just side characters
people c tv shows for entertainment ,to reduce their tensions & worries ,they wana c love romane nok jhok some light scenes...what we r getting in UDAAN incosistency of sukor love, always problem in their relation in d form of imli , kn , ragini ,vivan etc etc

its high time cv,s shud realize people wana c a grand sukor remaariage thy shud focus on sukor rather than imvaan
i m surprised chakor and suraj didnt have new clothes chakor is wearing same dresses again n again while imli has new dresses more often...
plzzz focus on SUKOR
