Thanks for raising this topic Richa( though nothing can be done but at least we can vent our frustration)

One thing definitely is that Sukor is not even properly together yet and CVs keep thinking of ways to seperate them. Other could also be unnecessary focus on the other couple. We keep expecting for Sukor romance and they keep showing Vimli romancing for the upteenth time, squeezing in their scenes in between Sukor scenes.

I never watched any daily soap on TV because my mom doesn't watch, so i was never used to it..whatever daily soaps i've watched is in hostel because of my pals..But for the first time ever my mom started watching udaan because of the freshness in the script and when i started watching it after leap..she joined me..

When this bachuva track bombarded..she stopped watching it and never allowed me to watch too..I asked her the reason for which she said "I being a doc..after a hectic schedule would like to relax and I watch something entertaining instead of watching any crap that irritates me..The show doesn't seem promising anymore..so i stopped watching" This is the exact reason behind every TV watchers..me being an online watcher atleast have an option to skip..so we can watch it based on the olvs spoilers and also skip to sukor scenes and other entertaining elements..

According to me..this has been the reason..But i can never let go of my SuKor..😃

I agree Divya,even I watch the show in recorded version because neither I have time nor the patience for watching unnecessary drama,I watch the show mainly for VJ n sukor 😳

I think the loss of viewers started from the bandhua track, earlier Udaan was always ranked from 6th to 8th, the first time they were out of the top 10 was during that track. Even after the end of the track, Udaan never recovered the same trp numbers or stability.

People want happy tracks, the only time Udaan was slot leader after January was the week after confession when viewers expected romance and got baby drama.

The second wave of loss was in the baby track, Udaan never regained the viewers they lost during IPL because the track went on forever and was very negative and controversial with misleading promos. For example, there was a surge in viewers for the divorce week when the promo showed Chakor seeing Ragini's truth and it said will Chakor save her marriage? instead the divorce happened and they introduced Ajay, numbers didn't recover until the end of the track.

There is still hope, there was an increase of 0.3 trp points for the reconciliation, but CVs went for shocking twists and negative Friday precaps which lost them the viewers.

There is another general problem unrelated to Udaan, viewers generally have become less loyal and will switch from one show to another depending on track. Only the top 5 are the same from one week to another (this changed this week), the bottom 5 keep changing. Udaan was bound to suffer. Previously shows had to be above 2.3 to be in top 10, now 2 is usually enough to get you there.

In summary, number of loyal viewers have decreased and will never be back to the same level, but that isn't fatal to the show if CVs treat it wisely and start having a stable happy track before introducing a new twist.

I agree meshmesh,n u know it's quite irritating when they show misleading promos!!

this is one thing which really irks me..why isn't chakor along with Suraj n all trying to find any solid proof against him..why doesn't she involve law n order..there has to be a way to end his reign once n for all..sitting there n only thinking about freeing azadgunj isn't gonna do anyone any good..actions speak louder than words..n why all of a sudden they have all forgotten that ranjana needs to get jailed for killing her husband!! A murderer is roaming freely inside the house!!..they should collect some damn evidence against her..sometimes I do feel that chakor is all talks n does nothing!!

There's many reasons why viewership decreased. Bad writing is the main reason ... previous tracks aren't closed, when new tracks begin. Loopholes in older tracks are still glaring at us viewers, but writers aren't the least concerned!

Side characters are given too much importance, such that they hog screen-space! No-one wants to watch them, nor have the patience to! It's easier to change the channel ... and more often than not, people ARE NOT switching back to Udaan afterwards (as is the case in my family)!

Character inconsistency is another prime reason ... strong characters are now brainless, they're easily fooled and manipulated! People don't want to see the bad guys winning all time ... we're on the good guys team; writers must stop portraying them as weaklings!!

Of late, the show has been lacking in HAPPY TRACKS. Too many twists, with too many negative tracks are not favourable!!!

I have always been a very big tv serials haters,especially the Ekta Kapoor ones..."Mann ki awaz Pratigya" was the last and only show I had watched ardently,and the second is Udaan...

For me the first and top most reason of the ever declining viewership is-

1.TAMARIND,TAMARIND AND TAMARIND FOR A MILLION TIMES...

2.EXECUTION-Udaan writers have always impressed me with the tracks they brought up,yes even bachua track 2 was a good one,but that track ruined it all...coz the execution was far more disgusting than the word worst itself..

3.AUDIENCE-I don't know why but poor Udaan has really very disloyal audience,if Udaan has negative or separation tracks then no other show currently being aired on Indian television is better than Udaan(I bet it)...coz if it would not have been the case,then the numerous rubbish craps and duds would have been off air by now...

Udaan is an ill fated show,thats all I can say..

The channel is totally partial to their own show,the various television news program shows aired on various channels are also very biased to the show..and audience are really very much partial to this particular show..

Udaan is truly very good show,unrecognised by viewers,but it happens...all deserving things never get their real due,if it would not have been a fact then the "snake saga" would never been the roaring trp topper

I agree rabia,udaan is a much better show than the crappy ones being aired ryt now..but it did use to have awesome ratings once upon a time,something has seriously gone wrong now!

Thanku everyone for replying to my question n for coming up with such good n logical answers :)..but I guess the writers need to consider these points too 😕..n do they like ever visit this website for feedback?..a good writer does take feedbacks into consideration.
