Twine, great job. Really we have started twisting everything to fit TD. I twisted poems & even a prayer to fit Td. Macbeth & Td, you have twisted this very nicely to fit TD, wonderful comparison. But then you have made Pori & Gargi witches then who would be Lady Macbeth ummmmm combination of Gargi & Pori. If Ved would have married Pori, then it would have been a very good fit.
See, Macbeth was a very brave & faithful general of King Duncan. It was Lady Macbeth, the gruesome & calculating virago's ambition to kill King Duncan & usurp the throne of Scotland. Obsessed as she was with power, she drove an obviously sane man, Macbeth, to the brink of destruction. She manipulated the perfect plot in order to make way for Macbeth to be the king. She was a great manipulator of situations. So after Macbeth kills King Duncan, fear & repentance tightens his spirit and no longer does he heed his wife's words. The supernatural fears that gripped Macbeth does not leave him but torments him & his wife for a long time.
Macbeth was a great & honorable general but for the viles of a scheming wife who brought down an illustrious career of a man who would have stood in par with the king.
I'm pretty confused abt Ved , I'm not sure if he is going the Macbeth path or not. If he is going on M's path then the love & friendship D & he shared will die lose it's meaning but if he is just trying to get Disha released then ????
I have lost my disha now.š

Hi Manisha, It was not my idea. It was twine's I just put my 2 cents to that post!!š
So r u busy with exams these days??
Brilliant analysis, Twine š Although I don't remember ever reading Macbeth (strange isn't it?!), I can recall the characters and must say, you've covered all the characters.
The only comparison I can think of for our Ds is Elizabeth Bennett and Mr Darcy's characters from Pride and Prejudice's. Both Eliza and Mr Darcy shared a love-hate relationship like the Ds only to come together in the end.
Gulabo, u r changing the disha of Macbeth & Td by comparing it with one of my most fav books Pride & Prejudice (I think it is a good comparisonš) which Gurinder Chaddha abs butchered & ruined!
Jingle, agree with u fully Guhas making Macbeth...... they are capable of making only Deadbeth . Shakespeare's rooh is already haunting me, saying how I could compare a classic like Macbeth with Td. Anyway, sorry Shakespeare, will not repeat this mistake again. š
