THE END Part B

After seeing both his brothers walk away Ayyush went up to see his father with a heavy heart. He saw his dad standing in his mom's room with tears in his eyes. Ayyush silently put his hand on his shoulder.

"Papa, Why?"

"King Gupta"

"King Gupta?"

"Yes, had I given my home to Sanjana, he would have killed all of us. He hated King Agarwal so much that even after his death, his anger did not subside. He wanted to kill everyone who had ever supported him. That is the reason he kept warring against us. Now tell me, had I kept that girl with me, would he have left you alive?"

"What about Bhushan and Shreya?"

"King Gupta again"

"But, how?"

"Son, you know the history of this kingdom, don't you?"

"Yes, but... what does it have to do with all this?"

"Remember a few centuries ago, three friends came and conquered this entire region. They decided to divide the spoil and divided the land equally into three. It was then, the three kingdoms, that is, the Pethewala Kingdom, Agarwal Kingdom and the Gupta Kingdom were born. We all had the same rules drafted together by our forefathers. And rule 120 says If any member of the royal family in any of these three kingdoms marries a slave, then he/she along with their spouse will immediately become a slave to the other two kingdoms'. King Agarwal is already dead so Bhushan will surely become a slave to King Gupta. You know how King Gupta will treat him, don't you? I'd rather suffer staying away from him than seeing him suffer. My poor dear son. I miss him terribly and it's not even a day since he has left."

Ayyush looked at his father, once a strong king but now a broken man pining for his son and hatred for King Gupta filled his heart.

"That King Gupta is the reason for our sorrow. I am not going to leave him alone."

"What are you going to do?"

"He took away your sons. I will take away his only daughter, then he will know the pain of losing someone so close to your heart."

"Are you going now?"

"Yes"

"Take someone with you. I don't want you to lose your life."

"No, I am going alone."

"Ayyush listen to me... AYYUSH... AYYUSH..."

Not heeding to his father's pleas, he walked quickly into the dark not knowing what the future held for him. Right now, he had only one motive and that was REVENGE.

...

Ayyush reached the Gupta Kingdom in the disguise of a soldier. He somehow managed to enter the room of the Princess. He hid in the curtain silently waiting for the princess to enter. After about an hour, the door opened and in entered the Princess along with her maids. Ayyush couldn't see her face, but he knew it was the princess because she was wearing the royal crown. He stood still as he heard coming near his curtain. He prepared himself to capture her. He opened the window near him ready to jump off as soon as he caught her. He had everything ready and he was very confident that his plan would be a success. Slowly the curtain opened and he was shocked to see the Princess face.

"Pari?"

"Raj?"

"Princess, are you okay?"

"Princess?"

Ayyush looked at her disbelief written on his face. Before she could say anything, her bodyguards captured him and she could nothing. His last words before going with them were,

"You too, Pari? I hate myself."

...

The King Pethewala was worried. It had been three days since Ayyush left the Palace and there was no sign of him yet. Suddenly a soldier rushed in with a scroll in his hand.

"Sire, we have an urgent letter from King Gupta"

Hurriedly, the King grabbed the letter from the soldier. As he read the letter his face became pale and he dropped the scroll down and fainted for this is what the letter contained.

"So, you cleverly sent your son to kill my daughter? Now I would dearly like to welcome you to the ceremony I have kept celebrating the killing of your eldest son. Be sure to be there by today evening. It would give me great pleasure if you could see how he is killed."

The soldiers rushed to him and helped him up.

"Find Ajay and Bhushan and call them here... If they refuse to come, show them this letter.

...

Ajay and Bhushan came rushing to the palace. Their father was waiting for them.

"What happened?"

"We need to go and rescue him."

"Rescue? How did you let him go?"

"I tried stopping him..."

"Yesh, right, just like you tried stopping us."

"Bhushan, listen... Please"

"Bhaiyya, this is not thetime to get angry, Ayyush Bhaiyya needs us. Let's go."

In a hurry both the princes left.

...

Ayyush sat in his prison cell feeling dejected. He had been a fool to trust some random stranger girl and fall in love with her. He should have known that it was too good to be true. He couldn't deny even to himself that his relationship with her was magical. Suddenly he heard a sound and looked up to see a soldier in an armor opening the gate.

"What now? Go tell your master I don't have any last wishes."

"Really? Not even freedom?"

He was surprised to hear her voice.

"Pari?"

She removed her helmet slowly.

"Why are you here?"

"To help you escape."

"I don't want to escape."

"Oh, come on. You know how valuable your life is to me."

He grabbed her shoulders feeling angry.

"No more lies, Pari... or should I say Princess Kushi Gupta?"

"Leave me, Raj... or must I call you Prince Ayyush Pethewala? Yes, I know who you are now."

"You played such a dirty game? I feel disgusted to even look at you. Now leave."

"I played a game? Don't be stupid, YOU were the one who wanted us to be Raj and Pari. YOU were the one who wanted to keep our identities hidden and you say I played? If I really want to hurt you, why would I try to let you escape?"

"Maybe it's a trap."

"You just don't trust me, don't you? What happened to all your promises, all the dreams you showed me? Just because I am your enemy's daughter, you refuse to trust me?"

"I..."

"No, Raj, I trust you still, even after knowing that you came here to kill me, I came here to let you escape. But you... how easy it is for you to question our love, isn't it?"

She drew the sword she had in her armor and handed it over to him.

"Here, take it, kill me here itself. You don't want to escape and my father will surely kill you. I don't have the strength to live without you. I'd rather die by your hands than live without you. Quick, kill me."

Ayyush looked at her eyes tightly shut and forehead crunched anticipating the blow and he threw the sword away and pulled her into a hug.

"You win Pari, I can never hurt you, even in my dreams."

"Our love won today. Now come, let's run before anyone comes."

"You are coming with me?"

"Yes... Did you really think I will be able to live in a kingdom that tried to harm you?"

...

They were caught while running and brought before the king. The King was very angry. She stood in front of Ayyush.

"Kushi?"

"Yes"

"Move away, I am going to kill him."

"You need to go through me to hurt him."

"So be it."

He lifted up his gun when a soldier came in running.

"Sir, the Pethewala brothers are here with a large army. Our soldiers are not able to defeat them."

"What?... Tie them up."

Hurriedly the king wore his armor and rushed outside.

...

Ajay and Bhushan fought hard when they saw the king rushing out. They rushed to him and caught him. A battle of swords followed and the King being more experienced easily defeated them and kept his sword on Ajay's neck. He was about to kill him when he heard a loud voice.

"STOP"

"Sanjana?"

"So you are Sanjana."

"Yes, King Agarwal's daughter. I know it is me you want. Kill me and leave them alone."

"Sanjana, NO..."

"Yes, Ajay. I can't let innocent people suffer."

"As you wish my dear."

"NOOO"

Ajay quickly pushed away the king's sword and kept his own on his neck and took him into the castle.

"How dare you?"

"Ajay stop!! King Gupta, now that you are at our mercy, I would like to know why you did all this?"

"I hated your father."

"But, why?"

"He took away my wife and my son from me."

"What?"

"We went to war against the Jha Kingdom together. Your father and I. It was a long and fierce battle. I asked your father to send soldiers to guard my castle but he didn't. That day, the Jha's killed my wife and my two year old son. Kushi was five years old then. She managed to escape. If your father hadn't been so careless my family would have been alive by now. I wanted revenge so I tried to kill you."

"So, you think that they will come back once you kill Sanjana?"

"Kushi..."

"Enough of all this, Papa. I was there when Mumma and Rahul were killed. King Agarwal did send soldiers, I remember seeing some with the emblem of Agarwal Kingdom. But, the Jha's were very powerful and our soldiers were very weak after fighting the war and guarding the palace that they were not able to resist. It was never the King's fault."

"What?"

"It is YOUR fault that Queen Pethewala is paralysed, YOUR fault that two lovers had to be away from each other and yes YOUR fault that I officially cut all my ties with you today."

"Kushi, NO..."

"One minute, Princess. What is the use if we keep walking away like this? King Gupta, I want you to release the people of the Agarwal Kingdom whom you have kept as captives and restore the Kingdom to me, the true heir and I need a promise that you will never go to war again, ever. Just as these three Kingdoms were formed, the Kingdoms will remain friends forever."

"I will do it all, Princess Sanjana. Kushi please forgive me."

...

1 Month Later:

The Kingdom rejoiced happily at the triple marriage ceremony. All the three Kingdoms came together that day. Ayyush was crowned the King of Gupta Kingdom and Ajay the King of Agarwal Kingdom. Bhushan became the first King in the Pethewala Kingdom to marry a slave and the slaves of the three Kingdoms rejoiced as the three Kings freed them all. Slavery was finally abolished.

And they all lived happily ever after.
